"For sure." June said putting her hands behind her head.
"Victoria... did you mention June would be coming with us?" Polly asked. "...We'll cross that hurdle when we get to it." Victoria said. "Well this should be fun." June said, slipping her hand into Horatio's, so he knew where he was going. |
Horatio was thankful for the guidance as he trailed after June.
|
They sent the time before bed listening to mp3s Polly had of old radio shows before they went to bed. June and Polly in one bed, Horatio and Vesta in the other.
June was certain this won't be easy as they walked up to the hanger the X jet was in. She wasn't on good terms with Scott seeing how they were on opposing sides. And if the blue wonder was there... this would be a very long plane ride. "Scott <3" Victoria waved, running over to him. June kept her hood up and followed behind Polly and Horatio. |
Scott gladly greeted Victoria, "Good to see you're doing well-but I thought your vacation was closer to the Caribbean?" he was a bit confused by the turn of events.
|
"Certain events took place. Scott, this is Horatio. I've mentioned him before." She said introducing him
|
"Ah, yes, Horatio...." Scott offered his hand to the blind man, then paused as he saw Juno next to him, "and... June" his body tensed, ready for battle.
|
Dramatically, June removed her hood and shook her dread locks free, looking up at Scoot. " Sup?..Nothing gets past you, does it Pirate boy." She said as a knee height cat emerged and sat down beside her, licking his paw casually.
After a moment of tense staring, Victoria put a hand on her hip, "Ahem." June rolled her eyes, "...I mean," She coughed, " oh hi Scotty old chum, old lad you, let's all be friends and ride off into the sunset in your cleverly named air craft. Woah hoo." She said, making fun of Victoria's British accent and also making Polly snort. Brutus turned small and went over in front of Scott. He flopped onto his back and meowed, looking up at Scott in a submissive position. |
Scott looked at June, then the cat and back at june before turning to head back into the jet, "she's not coming with us." He stated firmly, making it clear that they were going to be leaving now.
|
"Told you." June shrugged, knowing what his answer would be.
Victoria cut Scott off before he could get very far, "Oh Scott, just this once? <3 She teleported us out of a potentially bad situation of her own free will. Please? She wants to make sure Celeste is alright. For me?" She asked, running a finger in circles on his teenage chest. Polly leaned over to June, "We were in danger?" "Potential being the keyword." June said back. |
"Look" Scott replied, taking Victoria aside for a moment, "I know she's your sister but she also works for Magneto. She could turn on us at any moment-how do we know this isn't one of his plans either? We're better off going after Celeste ourselves. It's safer for us and for her"
|
Polly whistled to grab Scott's attention and before June could say no, she took hold of her arm and asked her questions very fast, "Are you here for Magento?"
"No." "What's your favorite colour?" "Green no Jade Green." "Will you cause any issues on this mission?" "No, I want to make sure my little sister is ok." June pulled her arm out of Polly's hand. "I hate it when you do that!" She said not impressed and feeling violated. "Makes me all tingling and weird.." She rubbed her arm like Polly had just punched her. Victoria turned back to Scott, "See? " |
Scott watched for a moment, then sighed again, "Fine. But if you step even one toe out of line, you'll be answering directly to me" he cautioned the green haired girl before turning back to the jet again, "Let's go."
"What, no third degree for me?" Horatio commented, seeming slightly amused by all this, "Or have we already met?" "We haven't, but Victoria's spoken highly of you" Scott told him over his shoulder as they stepped onto the jet, "The same word of warning applies to you, but I didn't think you'd need it." "Uhg, you're more fun in the future." Horatio rolled his unseeing eyes, "Or maybe it was the past... June, Velociraptors, forward or back?" |
"Backwards." She said sticking her tongue out at Scott when he wasn't looking.
|
"Hmm..." Horatio thought a moment, "wait, I'm talking about the ones that have laser rifles, somehow that doesn't seem right?" he asked uncertainly.
|
"Hmm... that sounds forwards for sure."
"I would not want to fight one of those." Polly said bluntly. "Yeah, but they'd be tons of fun to ride." June said and Polly smirked back. |
Horatio chuckled, "Yes, forward then. Scott is far more fun then, he has a better looking haircut to"
"What's wrong with my hair?" Scott questioned indignantly. "Have you see it?" Horatio sighed. "It's not that bad, I just..." Scott paused and looked back at the blind man, "... have you seen it?" Horatio laughed. |
The girls all laughed and June gave Horatio a slap on the back for making such a good joke.
"Priceless." Before they entered the plane, Victoria gave Scott a kiss on the cheek for coming on such short notice. "Are they dating?" June asked Polly. "You mean, WHY aren't they dating" Polly whispered back. |
"They always forget I'm blind" Horatio chuckled and they all strapped in for the ride to Japan.

Now, Logan had known Celeste since he first got to the mansion and Ciara and her would sneak down and visit him before he was dubbed sane enough to be let out of his cage. And never in those years had Logan ever seen Celeste so overwhelming happy. A smile seemed to be plastered on her face as they arrived in the airport and Celeste heard the hustle and bustle of Japanese speaking people.
They spent the first hour on Japanese soil, figuring out where they needed to go and how to get there. Celeste felt right at home asking a group of high school boys for directions. And they seemed more than happy to help the adorable smiling girl. A short subway ride took them to the train station where they hopped onto a train. Celeste enjoyed the convent store sushi and various other treats they found. It was almost adoreable how an older lady grabbed a hold of Celeste when she came back to the bathroom and asked if she was being held captive by the foreigner. Such a young girl and an older man, oh the drama. Celeste politly explained he was her guardian. It was the easiest way to explain the situation and that she was in no harm of being taken advantage of. Once they reached the right town, Celeste couldn't help but wander into some of the colourful stores. Japanese books, CDs, clothes. Oh it was like a dream come true! She ended up buying a cute purple jumper, some filly shirts,a flowered dress, a couple mangas, a few CDs, which all fit nicely in a cute bag she got as well. Logan had Celeste laughing several times as they shopped. He picked up a large plush moshache and held it to his face. After asking for some directions, the locals pointed them north. Celeste stood at the bottom of stairs leading up to the shrine and felt her legs go stiff. The stairs were covered in dirt and leaves, clearly no one had been taking care of it. |
Logan stood by her side, he hated to admit just how much fun he actually had been having with her but now it was time for little Celeste to come and face her past and he knew how hard that could be.
"I'm right here" spoke the gruff man, letting her know that she wasn't alone in this. |
Celeste turned back to look at him and smiled slightly, thanking him. After several mins of hesitation, Celeste took a step forth and headed up the once grand staircase.
When she got to the top she stood there, starting. The shrine she remembered as a child, was no more. Half of the shrine had been burnt to the ground and the other half was covered in soot and vines. She walked forth and stared down at a single tombstone that had been placed in front of the fallen bell. Engraved was the words, "The Ambrose bloodline." A bottle of sake and some incenses had recently been placed in front of it.She gripped her hand into a fist, it must have been him... Did the other girls family houses have one of these as well? A simple reminder they no longer had family? "He's sick..." She said just below a whisper. |
"Most psychos who ruin your life, are sick" Logan commented, as he scanned the area with all of his senses on alert. Despite the fact he was looking for trouble, he didn't miss the look of the place itself. He could see that beyond the damage it had once been beautiful. Grand buildings and man-made structures that blended with nature seamlessly-and that was before because now nature was reclaiming the land.
Looking to the side he saw an old path with lining either side of it. He was about to look away again but something about it drew his eyes and he found his feet moving forward. Laughter... this place once held such joy. He could see flashes of people walking around, people he knew the images flashed through his mind's eye as he turned around and around, that's a well, it was were he first met the child with pink hair. Just a traveler lost on his way, thirsty for a drink but it became more than that. He stayed, for many years in fact. At some point he even found himself wearing a kimono with their crest upon it. He watched the girl with pink hair grow into a woman, an elder and eventually die. He saw it time and again as he fought off her evils, protected her, this place... Logan stumbled, his head was swimming. He had never been swarmed with so many memories at once, he had never stayed in one place for so long. The short man fell to his knees, grasping his head. |
Celeste had been paying her respects in front of the stone when Logan wandered off. She got up and walked over to the stairs behind the shrine, they led up to the main estate, you could see the top of one of the buildings... Perhaps some of it was still in one piec-
"Logan-sama?" Celeste looked around surprised. A bit of panic hit her as she ran around the shrine calling his name. She finally found him but he wasn't alone, small partly see through creatures were coming down from the tree and making a circle around him. "Logan-sama! What's wrong?" She asked rushing over to him. The little spirites made a stop for Celeste in the circle as they looked up, looking worried by the man's distress. |
A groan was his reply, his head was pounding. Slowly he opened his eyes and looked at her, "... Ceres?" he questioned, trying to pull himself back to his feet but the strain on his mind was too much and he only ended up passing out.
|
When Logan woke up, he was inside a Japanese style bedroom, bamboo floors and sliding doors. It had clearly been renovated over the centuries to give it a bit more modern look. The air was stale expect for the soft breeze that blew in from the holes in the paper doors.
He lay in a floor mattress and a bottle of water, some pain killers and some snacks they'd gotten from the convenience store stood on the floor beside him. On the large wall to his left was a mural of Cherry trees and a samuri stood below it, his back turned, the Ambrose symbol on his kimono and a blade in each hand. Celeste was nowhere to be seen. |
