"My name's Luke" he replied, "Is there... Is there any chance I could see her?" he asked a bit shyly, "I think she might've dropped this when she ran into me" he held out a ring for her to see, "Maybe it was on a necklace or something and fell off? I'm not sure, but it looks like something she wouldn't want to lose if it's hers."
"I'm afraid without an appointment, guests aren't allow on the grounds. Thank you Luke for stopping by. If that is hers then you can return it to her at school tomorrow." Victoria bowed her head, not taking her eyes off the teen and started to head back to the mansion.
"oh..." he closed his hand back around the ring and looked to the ground, "... sorry for bothering you..." his voice becoming rather small though still just audible for her to hear.
"I'll tell her you stopped by." She called back, heading back, tossing the pole back into the bush.
~ Ciara moaned and sat up, rubbing her eyes. Her whole body was sore. |
Ciara found herself wrapped snugly in a large furry blue blanket-that was Hank McCoy, softly purr-snoring beside her.
She blinked and shrugged, curling back into him but she then noticed that the water in her small water fountain was floating in small beads.
She sat up, slowly shaking her dad. "Dad... Dad..." |
"mmnn?" Beast yawned as he awoke, "yes droplet?" he smiled at her.
"The...the....the...water is floating." She said pointing at it upon which the droplets fell to the floor causing Ciara to jump.
"Hm?" He looked over to see the wet floor and raised a brow before looking back at Ciara, "Are you alright my dear?" he touched her forehead to see if she had a fever.
Ciara pushed his hand away and went over to the floor, looking around rather confused. "But... it... a second ago, it was floating." Ciara looked back at Hank, "I swear!" The water on the floor started to ball up again and slowly began to raise up around her knees.
"Ciara-" Hank reached towards her and then stopped as he watched the water, "... he didn't..." Beast hadn't realized that Xavier didn't lock away all of her powers again, the telepath hadn't really said much before passing out.
Kneeling next to her, Hank stroked Ciara's cheek, "it's alright my dear. It's just you" he smiled encouragingly at her, "you, being yourself." |
Ciara looked at him, confused, "Dad, you're not making any- Holy crap on a muffin." She cursed, noticing the bubbles as they were at hip level. She took a few quick breaths, "WHat's... How..." If he didn't explain something soon, she was going to start panicking.
Beast placed his hands on either of her shoulders and looked her in the eye, "you're a mutant Ciara"
The word seemed to echo around in her head and for a few seconds, she just stared at him. "....WHAT?!" She yelled, throwing her hands down, the water droplets falling full speed at the dry wall, making lovely round holes. She jumped, realizing she'd done that and took a deep breath.
"That... How? You told me... but.... WHAT?!" |
"Breathe child" Hank insisted, "There is much to explain and if you keep a level head then I can tell you all." he sat on the floor and opened his arms to her, to climb into his lap and let him cradle her like when she was little.
Ciara looked around the room, put a hand on her head and took a couple deep breaths before looking back at Hank. She wanted to be mad... to be angry... but... he would explain, it would be logically to let him.
Slowly, she sat down in his lap and looked up at him, "Explain." |
Hank wrapped his arms around her and proceeded to tell her all that had happened. The great tidal wave, how they had risked their lives to save her. How her powers were beyond control for one so young and it was decided that, for the safety of everyone around her, Xavier would lock them away until she was ready.
"I've been trying to convince him it was time" Beast sighed, "you're around the same age most mutants are when their powers develop, but with yours so beyond anything we've ever seen... it's been hard to know exactly when the right time really was." |
Ciara didn't say anything for awhile, letting the information run around her head for a bit. "...When you brought me into the Professor's study... I felt... sad... Did... did I live through some kind of trauma? Is that why I couldn't control my powers?"
Beast nodded a little, "It wasn't really anything Charles could make sense of, but it was certainly something traumatic" he confirmed, "that's why we spent so much time together at the beginning. Between our talks and a few tests I did to try and find out where you came from... we became quite close" he nuzzled her.
Ciara smiled lightly, " Only cause you're like a big blue teddy bear..." She rubbed her cheek against his, "I want to be mad or angry but I can't because I understand.... You didn't tell me because you were afraid it might trigger me, right?"
He nodded, "Charles said that the bariers he put up were only so strong. The more you pry at them the better the chance of those floodgates breaking and we could have another tsunami on our hands. If you didn't know it was even there then you couldn't break it." He sighed, it was clear that he didn't fully approve of the entire notion but he had stilll gone along with it. "We should go speak to him as soon as you're ready. We need to know the extent of what he has done this time."
Ciara nodded, "Thank you Daddy... For keeping me and others safe. You always tell me to be myself so I know how hard this must have been for you." She hugged him tightly. "Before we go see the Professor, I'm gonna need some water and some pain killers. I feel like I've pulled every muscle in my body x.x"
He smiled a little and snuggled her for a moment, "Alright Droplet, I'll go get some for you"
"No, you carry me!" She demanded childishly, wrapping her arms around his neck, a small smile on her face.
"Hmm, what's the magic word?" he gave her a look.
