"Yes yes, those two. But the third?" He demanded.
"June? She's not here..."
"Where is she?" He questioned, his nails digging into the skin around her gem.
"Master please... She was staying with the brotherhood last time I heard."
"Brotherhood..." he didn't know much about them, "very well. I'll get to her later then. Tell me more about Celeste."
Polly managed to take his hand off of her chest and led him out of the school and away. "What would you like to know, Master?" She asked, letting his hand go.
"I want to know how to win her over" he replied.
Polly seemed to space out as she thought about it. "I'm not sure. She has a boyfriend. The guy she was with tonight..."
He thought about it a moment, "... another tactic then. I'll handle it. You just keep looking out for me." He stroked her cheek before pulling away and going off to find celeste.
Polly closed her eyes as his hand brushed against his skin, "Yes Master...." She voiced softly.
Celeste and Ciara were already on their way home. "Sorry." Ciara said removing the water from their clothes. Celeste shook her head, "Hey, that's what best friends do. That was a jerk move." Ciara rubbed her neck, "I... I didn't even really see him like that. You know how I freak out around flirts. Then tonight, it just... happened." "D'awww. Well, let's get into our pjs and do girly things." Ciara smiled, "You're the best Celeste." "No, you are! You deserve the moon AND the stars." "You're cheesy." They both laughed. |
Girls... what was with girls never really being alone? It made things difficult. Loki looked at his hand as a pair of bracelets appeared. This would help control her but... when she disappears there will be questions. No, it would be better to pursue Victoria right now.
Victoria had sent everyone home from the dance early. She sat down on the step beside Scott. "Well... that could have gone better." She commented, her hair and outfit soaked.
Scott gave her his jacket, since it had been in the coat check it was still dry. "She still has some way to go before controlling her powers. At least no one suspected anything" he offered with a smile. "I'll go pull the car around. Lets get home and outta these wet clothes. "
"But first." She cupped the opposite side of his face and brought his lips to hers.
"mm" Scott did not object as they kissed and he smiled after, "I will be back to finish that" he commented before heading off to find his car. The only parking was on the other side of the school from the gym, so he was going to be a few minutes.
"What a sweet heart" a dark haired boy sat down next to Victoria with a sigh, "Gotta say, you don't seem like you'd work together though" |
Victoria felt her heart skip a beat or rather a familiar throb in her chest. She didn't turn her head to face him, "And how would you know?" She asked, fixing her skirt, really getting ready to grab the small dagger she had attached to her thigh.
He shrugged, "He takes you for granted. Leaves you here alone, I bet he didn't even ask you to the dance until the very last minute"
"He has a lot on his plate. He's a born leader, determined and filled with good intentions. And he went to get the car."
"You're defending him, that's adorable" he commented with a grin, "But wouldn't you rather spend some time with me?" he leaned back on his hands as a little spark of green magic slipped around behind Victoria and to her gem.
Victoria felt the invasion of foreign magic in her gem almost instantly. A red glow appeared under her dress as her device was finding it hard to hide the firey glow that was her gem. It burnt at his magic. Her blade quickly found his neck as she threaded him, "Such cheap tricks won't work on me, Conjurer." She hissed.
Loki smiled calmly, "You always were such a charmer" he commented, his voice changing to a dangerously familiar tone. Suddenly he had her wrist, twisting it away from his neck as he turned to pin her to the ground, "I missed that about you"
Her eyes widened, "Savage." And within seconds her body turned into flames, trying to free herself.
Loki winced a little but with a quick teleport into the lake a few miles from there, the problem was solved. He had never been very good with the heat, though the time that he had spent bonded to Victoria in the past had made a significant difference to that, one he wouldn't mind revisiting.
They plunged down into the cold evening water, his illusion reshaping to the form of Randal Savage that she knew all too well. Still gripping her arms tightly they reappeared at the edge of the lake where only the waves could still reach. He knelt on top of her, pinning her body still to the ground, "After all these years, it's still there, isn't it?" he held both her wrists back with on hand while the other sought out her gem, "that old bond... I thought it had disappeared completely for awhile there, but with you so close now..." |
Her skin hissed and stiffened, her joints moaned and creaked like metal as she shifted in place. "Savage, please..." The water had weakened her defenses, she couldn't think clearly; the bond resurfacing.
"Come now, where's that fire of yours?" he demanded, "Don't tell me that's all you can do?" he sighed, "Tch. Well sweetie, I hate to break this to you, but Randal Savage isn't real" the illusion faded away back to Loki, "He never was. And maybe if you had stuck around a little longer, you might have figured that out. But no, all this time you've been running, you thought you were running from a midgardian. You didn't take into account what I am truly capable of and your family paid the price. Well, this time you can't just die to get away" he whispered in her ear, "because who will you be able to come back through?"
