"Score, this isn't a dead end. He knows something. It's in my gut!"
"Do you want to grill him right here, or do you want to go pick up Celeste before it's too late?" Scott snapped at her, "we can find him again later. The professor will keep tabs on him until then, let's go"
Ciara grabbed a hold of Luke by his collar before throwing him back and letting him go. "We will continue this conversation, Luke."
Luke rolled to his feet as soon as she had stepped back. "I doubt that" he replied as he backed away, "crazy b****"
"Ciara!" Scott called as he and several X-men pulled up in the x-jeep. At that moment, the Scott that had been standing there already disappeared, along with a rather smug Luke. "Vat just happened?" Kurt blinked as he looked around. |
Ciara quickly spun around when she heard Scott's voice from behind her and then back at Luke. A whip of water reached out to grab him but he was already gone.
"DAMN IT!"Ciara yelled. She'd been right about him. A few more seconds... "Kurt, get me back to the mansion now!" She ordered. "He's got a tracker on him." A very small and light weight circle sat tucked under his shirt collar behind his head. She jumped into Kurt's arms. If he was a teleporter, then they might not have much time to get to the girls... |
Kurt nodded and wrapped his arms around Ciara, bringing them back to the mansion.
Loki on the other hand, whilst his invisibility spell was going, tucked the letter to Pietro under the brotherhood door and then teleported back to see if Celeste was done her shower yet. |
Celeste was nowhere to be found in the hotel room but he would notice that the park across the way seemed to be... blooming with plant life. The trees were in blossom. The grass was bright and lush.
Ceres carried her slip on shoes, walking in the grass bare foot. Oh it had been too long. The feeling of real grass... midguradian grass... The stuff on Jottieum she'd made was nothing compared to grass that was in the right climate. Wild flowers seemed to bloom with each step she took. She flopped down in the middle of the wide field and closed her eyes as the sun hid behind the clouds and began to rain lightly. Rain... Warm and wet... She actually started to laugh as the drops hit her face, a wide smile on her face. Home...she was home... |
Loki headed for the park immediately. There was a slight tug on Ceres' bracelets as used them to figure out exactly where she had gone. Once he saw her though he let her have some space as he crossed his arms and leaned against a nearby tree.
She felt the tugging but she not reacting, continuing to laugh but it was went they stopped that she sat up and looked around.
She let out a deep sigh and got up. The party was over. Whatever he had gone to do hadn't taken him very long. She walked over to him, soaked. So much for having a shower. She looked down when she got under the tree he was under, "... I'm ready to go now, Loki-sama..." She said submissively. She'd never called him by a former title. |
"Good" Loki smiled a little and offered his hand to her, "I believe our next stop is to be Brasil, and then we should head back."
She took his hand, though the thought of returning to the land of ice and snow brought great sadness to her face. But she nodded, anyways. He would surely turn her back into a bird... at least she was allowed this short time as a human...
She had wanted to run away when she discovered he was gone but if she did... Loki's rule would surely be jeopardized and then her sisters lives would be at risk. "...My letter?" she asked softly. |
"Delivered" Loki replied simply as he drew her in close and teleported them to Brasil. Upon arriving she had indeed returned to bird form and he perched her on his shoulder again.
"Thank you." She said before they teleported to Brazil. She cooed softly, not wanting to be a bird but settled down on his shoulder anyways.
They set about gathering Juno's coffee, a variety of special blends. Loki wasn't too concerned about the x-men tracking him down but at the same time he seemed to keeping a slightly more cautious eye out.
Ceres seemed to notice this as he tossed several large bags of coffee beans into his pocket portal. "...Is something wrong?" She asked finally. Had he been spotted when he tried to deliver her letter?
"Hm?" Loki looked at her and then smiled cheerily, "nothing at all" he replied. It wasn't as though Ciara had even seen his true identity anyway. Or that she knew Ceres' new bird form, so why did he have this paranoid feeling? At any rate, it was time to head back to Australia which meant more bad news for the x-men because their Jet could not travel as fast as Loki was teleporting.
"Ok." She chirped back, turning her head back and forth as her patted her with one of his fingers. She'd never admit it outloud but finger scatchies were heavenly.
~ Ciara marked the places Luke was teleporting to on the map. "He's teleported again..." She said pulling out a sharpie and marking it on the map. They were flying to England. It seemed the most logical place as the fake Scott had mentioned England and that was the first place he teleported. |
"Where to this time?" Scott questioned, keeping the course for now. At the rate that 'Luke' was going, they'd never catch him.
"Australia... right about... here." She dotted it on the map. They'd search all these areas. "The best lies are those that hold truth... There must be something in England..." She said softly, rubbing her eyes. Ever since Celeste had gone missing Ciara hadn't been able to get proper sleep. It had gotten so bad that Hank was slipping her drugs into her food and water to help her sleep.
She was showing all the signs of losing a twin. Even though the two of them weren't blood related, they had a very special bond. |
"He has to stop eventually" Scott commented, "and when he does, we'll have him. Just hang in there" Not only the loss of the three sisters but how it was effecting everyone, especially Ciara, was weighing on Scott. He felt like he'd failed them all somehow and he didn't know how to make it right again.
Ciara walked up to the front of the jet and wrapped an arm around Scott. "I hope they're alright..."
"They are" he replied firmly, Scott refused to believe otherwise.
Ciara nodded and went back to map, keeping an eye on Luke's location.
With everything done Loki was just waiting for the portal to open again. It should only take a couple of hours but it was best not to toy with these time frames. Sometimes they liked to jump early. So he turned Ceres back to her human form and the King of Jotenheim sat on the ground and leaned against a tree.
Ceres stretched, her kimono finished drying in the warm Australian weather as they waited. She rested her hand against the bark of the tree and the weathered tree blossomed several leaves, just enough for appropriate shade. She lay down in the newly forming grass, the beams of sunlit shining down on her face as she closed her eyes.
Even with the springlings, nothing compared to the warmth and feeling of real sunlight. She unwrapped her kimono until she was under wearing the thin white under layer. "Ahhh <3" Much better. |
