Yeah, I think sci-fi has way too many humanoid races, it's risking some of its appeal by doing that.
Anyone can meet another bipedal, carbon-based life form, but what about other sorts? What about the ones without faces or legs or anything recognizable? Those are the real aliens these days, at least as far as I'm concerned. |
Yeah...I read that before, Klingons were essentially just people dressed in vaguely oriental-ish armor with darker skin and thick eyebrows due to low budget. It was only after they got more budget that they started being able to do more complex alien designs, like giving the Klingons their forehead ridges, etc. |

I'd advise you to try drawing bigger, since then you cna just goof around, adding silly things all over it. Even if you have it in chibi. That doesn't mean you can't add all sorts of silly buttons, zippers, or belts. Since, why not? |

lol No, I'm okay with details like that...I mostly have trouble with things like the texture of the clothing...like robes, for one. And pockets that don't just look like squares on a flat surface or end up looking super-bulky like a soldier's toolkit, etc. [headdesk] |
