»Alec Colbac« {Picture to come ^^;} Age: 27 Personality: Despite only being a year into his work as a doctor, Alec can't help but to feel proud of the things he has done while in the hospital. Usually described by others as "hard-headed", the young doctor isn't much for criticism and tends to get defensive when any of his methods are questioned by those around him. Alec prefers traditional over new, and often works with a "my way or the high way" attitude, being seen as arrogant by those who do not know him. Alec would much rather lead than follow, and has a hard time completely falling to the obedience of others. With that being said, he understands when listening is necessary, and would do just about anything for the sake of his patients, even if he won't always admit it. Biography: Growing up in a family of doctors certainly had it's affects on Alec, his parents often insisting that attending medical school was the only way to go. Alec had no arguments however, becoming a doctor something he believed he would have done even without the encouragement of his family members. Whether this is true or not, Alec had always taken being in the medical field very seriously, never considering another career for himself. Because he had always been taught that the way humans do things is best, Alec had never been open-minded towards the supernatural healers, and to this day continues to believe that they have no place on Earth, even after being told numerous times the good things they have done. Fuu-Chan: Sorry this took so long! |
Khanna Malik http://i58.tinypic.com/29ush1s.jpg Age: 26 Race: Healer Personality: Most people would describe Khanna as a little on the strange side. Mostly because of her appearance and what she wears. They just see her as some crazed woman who believes in things that everyone thinks doesn't exist. But that makes her all the more interesting when it comes to using her "magical gift" to help others in need and proves to other people that what she does isn't fake at all and is in fact very real. History: Khanna was raised up on how to use her magical gift as her aunt would call it. Khanna never knew her father. Mostly because when he found out that Khanna had the gift, he just up and left her and her mother alone. Khanna's mother died of natural causes when she was only five years old. And so her aunt took her in and raised her as her own and taught her all about her gift and the dangers out there that no one who was human knew about. Her mother's death affected Khanna so much that it made her want to become a doctor of some sort. Someone who healed people with her magical gift. She wanted to help others. And that is where it all began for her. |
Five minutes late. The doctor was five minutes late and now somehow he was the one nominated to participate in the new test program, 'Project Liaison.' He'd been told they had been calling on people with "unexplained abilities", what ever that meant, to come in and assist doctors all over the world with their medical studies. For months their hospital had not received word of the project until the day Alec's alarm decided to go off late, of course. If this was just some stupid way of telling Alec he needed to show up to work on time, message received.
"C'mon sir, you can't be serious! You know I do better on my own. Remember what happened between me and Calvin?" Alec insisted, holding back a shudder at the memory. He looked pleadingly over to the chief medical officer, who seemed more amused than anything. This is what the hard-headed doctor deserved, right? Alec grimaced at the obvious humor dancing behind his boss' eyes, it suddenly becoming clear to him that this was a battle he wasn't going to win. "I am sorry Dr. Colbac, but the entire staff has agreed that you are best fitted to take this on," The medical officer began, his amusement levels to the point of making Alec want to storm out and never come back again, "And if anything, what happened between you and Dr. Calvin is even more of a reason for you to be placed in this program. The ability to communicate with those around you is an important part of being a doctor..." "I'm not in the mood for a lecture-" "And you won't get one. You can either except the offer I am making you, or find a new hospital to work at," He paused, looking up briefly for a reaction, "If you decide to stay, a file full of the information you need can be found on top of your desk." It wasn't too long after that Alec found himself staring down at a folder labeled Liaison. As much as he didn't want to participate, he loved his job far too much to lose it over something like this. Besides, how hard could it be? As far as he was concerned, he was always the man in charge. Project Liaison: Hello Doctor, You have been given the great honor of being chosen to take part in a life-changing operation formerly known as Project Liaison. As you may have already been informed, you and many other citizens in the medical field will have the opportunity to work alongside beings you have never been exposed to before. With capabilities science has yet to explain, we have been calling these beings Healers, each of the individuals tested performing things well above human comprehension. We will be using this project as way to further explore the Healers, as we think we have just begun to discover what they are truly capable of. You will find more information in further papers. Sincerely, Doctor Chester Linwell of the Washington Medical Corporation "Healers? Seriously? They couldn't think of a better name?" Alec whined as he attempted to digest the information that was just thrown at him. This was all crazy talk, Alec was sure of it. Just great, I get stuck with the psycho girl with crazy-colored hair. The male sighed as he looked over the papers, a description and picture of his future partner being the second page. Were they all like this? His parents had always warned him about people like this, the ones who thought they needed to stand out and be different. Normalcy is good, at least that's what they had always said. Alec threw the papers down and rubbed his temples as he wondered at what point this girl would come prancing through the door. Please, let this day be over with soon. |
