Mysterious Magics (Dominik and Seer)
Mankind has always pondered what could be out there, hidding in the shadows or even right in their face. In the medieval ages there were proclaimed sorcerers in every castle court room. They we're merely fakes using powders and dyes to create so called magic. Some we're genuine, some not so much. Many normal people cannot see the difference between real and fake for they are veiled. The veil is a mystical magic that has persisted since the dawn of time, shrouding the other races from the potential and eventually obvious hate. One frightful day the veil wore thin and eventually snapped. Humans were cascaded into painful awareness of the other sentient species. Husbands realized they married elves. That some kids weren't just extremely talented but we're endowed with magical prowess's. A lot of fights broke out and many worried the magically gifted would overtake the none magical, but that day never come. But many still fear what they cannot understand, and even worse they fear that the day will come that magic will take over everything.

Name: Aaron "Anwon" Williams Race: Human; White Age: Just over 19 Bio: Aaron never really was much of a kid to go out and party and get drunk or anything. He was always content with sitting home and chilling. At about the age of 8 he noticed that "strange" Things happened. His mother never explain it and his father wasn't around much due to work trips. At age 11 he got into some books and noticed some weird symbols and such, and after enough work he could read them. At age 12, he said some words and burst a potted plant into flames. His other witnessing this was aghast for words. She knew what was going on, he had gotten into her spellbook. She decided today was the time to tell her soon about the family trait. Everyone in their family on the mothers side could read magic, but couldn't always use it. After a bit of teaching his mother told him he had to seek out his own tutor like she had too. Knowing her son wouldn't do much in a scrap she never taught him the finer points of fighting with blades. Powers: Anwon has numerous spells hidden away on his phones which he recites daily just to keep fresh. Not being one for fighting he keeps a lot of the none-offensive spells ready. Weapons: He always cared a knife on him. Nothing big just a pocket knife. Extra: Anwon loves to play nerdy trading card games. He carries a few "Magic The Gathering" decks with him to play other people he knows. ---------- Post added 06-18-2014 at 01:38 AM ---------- http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs12/i/20...ity_by_p0m.jpg Stromkirk. Sita woke up and stretched out her arms as she sat up from bed. Looking at her bedside table which held her alarm clock, she nodded knowing that she had to get ready for the day of work. Moving around happily, she ruffled her hair and looked in the mirror. Her red brown hair became more red the further down it traveled in length. Many thought that she died it that way, but it was her natural color being what she was. But no one could know that. Humming to herself with her beautiful voice coming through, she sang her favorite song from when she had been a young girl. Getting dressed in her work uniform dress for the bookstore/cafe she worked at, the firey woman sighed softly. Things had been quiet for a while when coming to helping magic beings in the city, which was hopefully a great thing. Moving out of the door with her purse in hand she grabbed her small sketch book and threw it into the purse and hummed as she walked out of her home and towards downtown. Smiling happily she walked down the road whistling to herself as she headed to the part of downtown that housed more of the magical people. The bookstore that she worked at was a safe haven for magic people, and people could shed their glamours and disguises and just be who they are. It was a very popular place, and knowing that the regulars came because of the feeling of unity and belonging gave Sita a great feeling. Though here name always was Ash, for no one knew what she truly was, thinking she was just a fire controller, and no one really knew how old she truly was.
Walking into the cafe, she smiled and waved to the elderly couple of wizards and slowly pulled up her hair into a pony tail. Pulling on her apron and grabbing her notepad she was off. She was clumsy now and again, but mostly all together she was a graceful being. Moving to all the people she would take care of in the cafe part of the store, she laughed lightly as the usual elder told her once again that she needed to find a boy to have in her life. But she was a free spirit, and she couldn't stand the heart break again... It just hurt too much that everything passed with time and she was never touched by it. But as always she just laughed it off and kept up her work, making people feel good, safe, and happy in this place of peace. |
Anwon's alarm awoke him from his slumber. irritated he check which alarm went off, the painfully early one. Sitting up he clicked his phone to check for messages "Hey kid. Make sure you make your mom her morning coffee. You know how she is when she doesn't get it. Love you." It was from his dad. He never answered this messages unless his dad actually needed/wanted to tlak to him instead of just reminding him. Stretching he shoved his phone into his pocket and started the brew. He didn't care for the kind his mother liked. He had a bitr of money left by his father for him. Decided to go get some good stuff after he made sure his mother was up. Knocking on the door "Mom its time to get up. Coffee is brewing. I'll call in 10 to make sure you're up"
Getting fully dressed after showering he sat at his desk in his room and scrolled threw his phones book. Checking to make sure he could read all them he made sure to choose a few dangerous ones in addition to all the none violent ones. Sliding his tie back into place Anwon left. He had a fun little habit of wanting to be the best dressed person in a room. He walked for what seemed like forever before he found a shop. The place seemed new to him. Walking in he smelled the food and fine coffee and he smiled a small smile. Sitting down he wondered if this was one of those places where you sat and waited to get served or if you went to a counter. One way to find out he though taking a chair |
Seeing a fresh face was always exciting, and slightly nervous. If this boy was a human they had to be careful, causious in his reactions to those around him if he noticed the magic in the area. Ash smiled and nodded to her manager as she was told to talk to him. She was their best waitress when it came to detecting magic and keeping humans occupied. Grabbing a pitcher of water and a glass she headed over to the table, stopping once to refill the glass of another table she flashed a bright smile at the boy. He was a handsome young man that was for sure. "Good morning. How are you today?" The woman asked lightly as she poured the male a glass of water. Setting the clear water glass on the table she offered a smile at the male and brushed her hair behind her shoulders. "Would you happen to be new to the shop?" The woman asked lightly and glanced out the window. One of the other regulars was coming in and she would have to greet him soon, but this boy was a priority. They had to know what he was.
Staring at his phone like every other 20 something human, it took him nearly half a second to realize someone was speaking to him. He looked up and spied the young woman he instinctivly reached out and took the glass from her gingerly. Shoving his phone into his pocket instinctively into his pocket. Not to many people approached him, but that might because his nose was always stuck in his phone. "I-I'm good. Sorry." He sttutered slightly at first just trying to work off the sudden shock. "Actually yeah. I am new here. I wanted some good coffee so i decided i'd try this place" He tried to seem cool and collective but actually he was quite nervous, he wasn't used to talking to such a beautiful lady
Ash found herself smiling a bit wider as she realized that she had taken the male off guard a bit. Most people tended to shy away from people when they were on phones, but she herself just believed that a bright smile could break through that barrier. Hearing thay he was new she pulled out of her apeon and handed it to him. "Well lucky for you we have lots of different coffee types, and many people come here just for that, but we also have fabulous meals. I'm Ash by the way, and I will be your server for today." The woman said lightly and pulled her pen out to write on her pad for his order. "Anything sound good? "
She had a warm personality which really made Anwon feel good. most the servers in this town had little to no personality or we're so flirty you KNEW they just wanted a bigger tip. BUt this woman in front of him was purely geniune. He threw a small smile back at he reached his hand out to her "Nice to me you Ash, my name is Aaron. BUt you can call me Anwon" He held his hand to shake hers. He hoped he wasn't being too, strange because worst case scenario, she could tell he was magic. Maybe turn him in and they'd have to mark him or something
Smiling as the male seemed to take a shine to her, Ash watched as he extended his hand. Putting hwr pen h
In her other hand she then moved to take his hand and shake it. By the touch of his skin, she knew he had magic, and she would know that he could tell she was magic too. Offering a grin she then pulled her hand away and turned her head to the counter. Giving the manager a thumbs up, everyone seemed much more relaxed and happy to hear that the boy was magic. It meant then that they didnt have to hide their own magic from him. Upon learning the good news, the telekinetic waitress had all her things began floating around her as she walked to hwr tables, refilling waters and clearing dishes by making them fly rhrough the air. The cook's four other arms came out and he began cooking in his fast way once again. Other customer's glamours also came off. Turning to Anwon she smiled brightly. "Nice to meet you Anwon. And welcome to the garden of eden cafe. A safe haven for all magical beings. " Ash said lightly and grinned. |
The feeling he got from her handshake threw him completely off guard. He never that feeling but understood that, that feeling wasn't normal. He stared at the woman for a few seconds before witnessing the cook grow multiple arms and the waitress float objects around her. He started to sweat a little and breath hard. He didn't know what to do, they said safe haven but he had heard that line before. Better play this cool. act like i've never seen this before "Miss I-I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know any magic or anything." He chocked back his lies hoping she wouldn't catch it. "I think my eyes are just playing tricks on me. But i'll have a simple black coffee." He said as straightly as possible. He didn't want this woman to know about anything he knew.
Ash watched the boy closely and seeing his sweat and hearing his breathing she knew he was a bit over whelmed. Nothing a bit of time and coffee couldnt fix. Hearing his words, she raised an eyebrow at him and smirked a bit. Being as old as she was, little lies like that were easy to catch but she let the boy slide. "Knowing magic or not is one thing. Possessing it is completely different." She said lightly and with a wink she wrote down his order. "I will get the coffe to you shortly." She said lightly and was off, moving around to other customers and helping out. Hearing the chef said that the burner was out again she smiled and fire lit up her hand. Tossing the flames easily they zoomed over to the stove and lit the thing once again. The elderly couple she was serving clapped and she laughed, thanking them. Grabbing the ready coffee she approached the boy again and set the coffee on the table. "Here you are a black coffee freshly brewed." She said brightly and offered him a reassuring smile. "I promise nothing will happen to you here except getting a good drink, meal, or book." She said lightly.
"Pardon me if im a little hesitant to believe a complete stranger in an unfamiliar area." He remembered back to all the times he's dad had said they would go out and do something or have some father son time but never could./ Because of work or mom or something. He hardly believed anyone just out of fear of getting screwed over. He pulled out his phone from under the table and drew a puzzle on the screen which brought up one of his spells. Nothing major, just something in case this went sour he could leave. Didn't want to hurt anyone, but didn't want to get hurt either. The last time he used this spell he nearly blinded someone, he didn't want that again. Using his free hand he took the cup and smelled it, letting it set he looked at her and held the cup "I have this weird habit. Do you mind taking the first drink it was something my mom always did with me when i was young" He smiled cheerfully and sat the cup down on the table
Ash smiled and nodded her head hearing his words. "Fair enough, I would be the same way im sure." She said lightly. Smiling widely as he took the coffee, she tilted her head in question as he spoke. Looking at him she smiled sheepishly and shook her head. "I can't... buisness rules. I could get fired for eating on the job. Im sorry." She said genuinely. Thinking about it she tapped her chin and smiled getting an idea. Walking up to the counter she called that she was going on break and grabbed herself a coffee. Moving back to the table she swapped their cups with a speed and grace like she had done it a thousand times before. Offering a bright smile and a wink to the boy she brought his cup to her lips and took a sip. Grimacing at the taste she then swapped their drinks and grinned. "There you go." She said lightly and took a drink of her own coffee.
Feeling abit more relaxed after she took a drink. "You didn't have to go on break. You could've saved it for when you wanted to go." He sipped the coffe, it had a deep rich flavor he hadn't had since that last shop closed on 32nd street. Releasing his puzzle on his phone he pocketed it, feeling that he wouldn't need it, but it would probably only take a few seconds to draw the pattern again. He would have to shut his eyes tight for that one. "So tell me about yourself since you're on break now" He said moving his hair out of his face and grabbing the mug and bringing it to his lips.
Ash smiled and shrugged hearing him. "I get three breaks so im not worried. I needed a break anyway." She said lightly. Shr would honestly do anything to make people comfortable here and feel safe. Especially when they haad magic. She herself had to keep herself out of the sight of the vampire coven because being a. Rare magical being was powerful and people always wanted something that made them stand apart ftom the rest. Hearing his question she shrugged and took a drink of her coffee. "Just a free llance artist. Working to keep myself a float and pay for the apartment. So I just have enough money to keep doing what I love." She said lightly and offered a smile. "So tell me about yourself."
Sitting there he pondered his life. Realizing how boring his life would seem to this woman. "We'll i graduated highschool 2 years ago. My mom works in a nearby office and my dad travels a lot. HE gives me some spending money everytime he leaves so that i'm not bored" He thought back to how much he got this time and how much he blew it. "He works for a big software corporation and travels a lot. So it's just me and mom most the time." He looked into his coffee, then drank it. He felt incredibly boring at this moment. No job. No real hobbies.
Ash listened as Anwon spoke to his words as he explained his life. Bringing up the thought of parents made her strain her memory to try and remember her parents. She barely remembered her father as he had never been around. He was always hunting and blessing the different parts of their village people as he had been the holy man. She had really only remembered his ruff warm hands. How they held her and ruffled her hair now and again. Her mother she could remember a bit more. She had had the most silky black hair, and the most piercing blue eyes. Snapping back to reality from the memories, she offered a bright smile. "Its nice to have family, even if they are far away, it sounds like your father thinks of you if he leaves you money." she said optimistically and finished off her coffee. "Well if you ever get bored a club of younger magic beings comes in around 6 and play cards and games and socializes... I know from expierence how hard it is to make friends when you worry that people will hate you for the magic." she said softly and offered a reassuring smile.
That last part hit him like a truck full of bricks. "So you know as well" his mother tried to hide it when he was young. Anwon didn't even know if his dad even knew. Thumbing over if he wanted to come over. He pulled out his phone and texted his mother from under the table. Continuing the conversation "So what do you do in your spare time since you know about me" He awaited his mothers responce No real plans tonight. You have fun He needed to swing home and grab his cards and dice and see where the night took him
Thinking to herself Sita smiled sheepishly and shrugged. "I read a lot, mostly magical related things like herbal healing rituals... Um how to better control your powers. Just broadening my horizons to better understand the people who come in here." she said lightly and then chuckled. "I've tried learning the card games, I'm just horrid at them though. The boys and two girls are understanding and are patient with me when it comes to trying to learn the games." Sita said lightly with a genuine smile following. Sipping her coffee lightly she then sighed and looked at Anwon's intense eyes. "So you dont have to answer this, but is it your mother or father have the magic traits? It would explain your eyes if it was your mother." she said lightly.
Was she just reading my mind? There's NO WAY a girl this attractive is talking to me and seemingly into all the things i am. Whatever, play it off "To be super honest with you, I don't think i gathered any powers from my parents. Unless Mom is hidding something. I just bought a few books and read some stuff online and turns out im a novice at this stuff" He said still holding the flash spell on his phone, still extremely unsure of this conversation. Was she trying to get information, was she eyeing him up, was she gonna try and find him later? Worst case scenario, he casts his flash spell and runs. But then he would miss a golden oppertunity to learn about his magic traits and talk to a enchanting woman.
Ash smiled hearing Anwon and sat back in her chair. She could tell he was a bit wigged out, just by the way he answered the question. Sighing softly, she offered a smile softly and took a sip of her coffee. "Well then I am sure the magic is from your mother's blood line then. Just from what I have studied and read, usually if the magic comes through the mother's blood line the oddities will show in soft, less noticable area's, like the eyes. Where as if your father was the source of the magic, something would be more noticable, like different colored hair, or a more perfected body structure." she said lightly with logic in her voice. "Take me for instance." she said lightly and pulled down her hair from its bun and let her hair tumble over her shoulder. "My hair naturally gets more firey red as it goes down. That's natural, as is my facial structure and body proportions are from my father's side. My eyes change color also too my mood, which is a combination of both my parents having magic blood. Right now they are a warm brown. I'm calm and happy. If I were to get mad, they turn red. Sad, a cloudy grey. So on and so forth." she said lightly and grinned. "Its a bit odd, but I didn't really know this until I dug around and searched for answers. I lost my parents when I was about 6. So my memories of them are faint. But now that I know where my magic comes from, and why I was so protected it makes me wish to improve myself more and be the best I can be for all those who sacrificed for me." she said softly, her eyes slowly turning into a clouded grey as she thought about all of those people she lost in her life because she got close. Looking up she met his eyes and smiled gently. "I guess what I am saying is, magic is not a curse. Its a beautiful gift. So I guess just treat it like one and treasure it." she whispered and then sighed heavily. Her breath let out slowly and she knew that soon she would have to get back to work.
As he listened to her story his phone clicked off in his hand. It was a text. He warded it off and listened to Ash talk and smile. He felt warm here, not just because he was sitting with her but the building seemed to be warmer then the rest of the city. He will have to book mark this place and come back whenever he needed coffee. Sipping the rest of the coffee he read the message, Hey, big news. Dad got the job. Looks like we're moving out of the country! You'll love it there, so many fine shops, wonderful dining. <3 Mom Fuck, he whispered quietly to himself. "I don't mean to interupt or cut this short but i do have to head home quickly." he scribbled his phone number on a napkin. "I would like to talk more about this" he waved around the store hoping she got the jist of this. He left her a 10 dollar tip and payed his bill quick before he trotted out of the store. The train seemed to take twice as long today, he had a ton on his mind. Walking threw the door he was assaulted with confetti and streamers Congratulations Mark! was strung across the apartment. The conversation and explanation went on for some time before he admitted he didn't want to leave. This was his home and he loved it here, it was safe.
Surprised as Anwon spoke about having to leave, she nodded and smiled. Taking the number on the napkin she stood and shook his hand, and moved to get back to work. Putting her hair up and throwing on her napkin she worked, pushing away the sad feeling swiftly to keep everyone at the shop happy and not worrying about her. When Anwon left, she found herself touched that he left such a big tip and waved to him as he left. Hearing the cook she walked over and blushed as he said that he was handsome. "He sure was." she breathed and looked back at the door. He seemed different from a lot of people that came through that door. Programing his number into her phone she shot him a text saying it was Ash and she got his number. Moving to clean off tables and do her job, she hummed the song from her past that her father always sung to bring rain. It had been a long time since she had felt the longing of having her parents in her life again, how odd it was for a boy to bring out such feelings in her like that. She truly wondered if he would ever be back.
Where am I going to live? Could i stay here? Would they let me? Are they going to ta-. Who messaged me? A hundred questions raced across his mind as the phone went off. He hurled it on the bed. It was dark in his room, nothing stirred except the occasional move blip of his monitor springing to life. He knew he had to do something before his parents made the order. He had to line something up. Anwon sat on the internet, setting up all the regeants he'd need for his magic for a few months. Small list because he never went with the big fancy spells. An IM popped up. Sorry Ann, Parents said we don't have the space Another.
Wife said she doesn't know you well enough. Fuck. My parents are arguing. I think they're gonna sperate. Sorry about your situation He was officially out of options. |
As the day dwindled down to the slow hours right before the diner rush Ash found herself doodling on her sketch book as she stood at the hostess stand. Her boss never really minded, she had done everything she could to clean and prepare for the rush. So now all she had to do was wait. Humming to herself as she found herself sketching a beautiful glyph in her language for blessed touch, she sketched what she could remember what her father's hand looked like, holding the glyph in his large hand, and beautiful water flowed from the glyph and out of his hand. Behind in the background was the space universe. Sighing softly as she lovingly began to shade in the design with her pencils, and longed to make this a painting, she heard a noise outside. Looking up, her eyes narrowed as she saw some of what she knew were gang members walking by. She avoided making eye contact and looked away, the men avoided places like this usually, unless they were looking for someone, which had her curious. Why would they come into this area? They often feared coming into this area, mostly because she would make a point to kill all of them and send their bodies back as messages, so they thought the area was tabooed by a magical curse that would kill them if they entered the area. Moving towards the back, she called to her cheif that she was going to take a quick break. Gritting her teeth together her eyes started turning red as she left the restraunt. Stalking the two men silently, she watched as they turned into an alley. Smirking a wall of fire flung up before them making them fall back in terror. Chuckling, letting her power come into her voice as her eyes glowed with fire, they shook seeing her. "How brave, and stupid. Coming into my domain." she hissed, the fire crackling around her body. Her voice paralyzing them with fear and awe. "Now, why are you here?" she breathed, and reached out, grabbing one by his neck. Lifting him off his feet, her hand burned at his flesh, just enough to cause agony. "W-we were hired.... Kidnap a kid.... Dad's a big shot.... Hold for ransome...." the man choked and raising an eyebrow in curiosity, she pulled the picture from his coat. It was Anwon. Tucking it in her breast pocket she saw the other making a move and chuckled. "Trying to escape?" she teased and she threw the man she was holding, nailing his body with the man trying to get away. "Now time to die." she breathed and with screams, she rendered every part of them to ash, but their hands where the gang tattoos were left whole. Boxing them and sending them to the gang as a gift, Sita sighed and pulled her hair back up after returning to the diner. She grabbed her phone and called one of her many connections to find out where Anwon lived.
Arriving at the house, she knocked on the door. Her eyes now their normal brown, she put on her young girl act again. Just a college student, lover of art, innoscent to magic around her. Anwon's mother answered the door, and after some pleasantly exchanged words, she was led up to Anwon's room. His mother knocked and opened the door, and Ash stepped into the doorway. "Hello Anwon." she said lightly with a smile and thanked his mother as the woman left. Stepping into the room she closed the door behind her and turned on the light. Moving over to his bed she sat down and crossed her legs. "I need to speak to you. And you should really check your phone." she said lightly and tossed his phone to him lightly. "Your mother's eyes match yours by the way." she added before pulling out the picture she had gotten and held it out to him. It was obviously taken by someone watching him and following him on the streets. "Your father is getting transferred yes? You need a place to stay if you wish to stay here, which I would say you should. People will kidnap you and hold you randsom when your family moves. Someone doesn't like your father." Ash explained, getting right down to the point. "I know this because the cafe is a safe house, and someone told us you were in danger. I am here to offer our help." she explained calmly, and waited for his reaction to all of this. |
