What do you look for in an RP partner?

Consistency for starters. It drives me insane when someone posts once a week and expects me to stay interested. Worst of all, if when someone SAYS they'll post regularly, and then they just don't. I don't mind if someone gets busy or loses interest, but it's five seconds to message me and let me know then to leave me waiting.
Up. The. Friggen. Wall.

That alone makes it really hard to find a decent partner.

Oh dear, yes... that is a pretty endemic problem with RPers internet-wide x_x
*sheepishly* I have a admit... I'm guilty of it. Poor Mageling has been waiting for eons for me to reply back to her. [gonk]

She is excellent in keeping things rolling (especially if you're interested in a fandom based RP!) It would definitely be worth your time to track down her RP request thread and ask if she's interested in something once you're all nice and settled in!

Do you know off the top of your head if she's interested in DC comics at all?

[lol] She is definitely interested in the Marvel Universe, but I can't recall her stance on DC off hand (Sorry!).
Between Batman and Aquaman how could she not love it? How could anyone...? ;P

Oh the new 52 has many reasons to hate DC =D
But I digress, perhaps I'll pay this person a forum-stalk style visit?

Oh yeah. I had one guy, wanted to play a canon character, but had these 'headcanons' for him? I wanted to use an OC and he told me I couldn't use her.
Like, at all.
But he can do what he likes apparently.


I don't have high hopes to be honest, but they're there.

It's there and I accept it but I can't play it that way. Granted it is the healthier alternative to the MESS that is Mistah J. Roleplay wise, I know my limits and romance in general isn't anything I can delve into. Flirtation is okay.

But no, I feel ya. I have ONE good partner who doesn't make the rp all about the pairing. I love romance, I have to have it, but it's never going to be the focus of the rp, and most partners I know, only want that.
Very frustrating.

I just can't do eet.
Even tabletop RPGs with my husband. Seriously.
It's like. It's false.

But I've written romantic fanfiction.
So. I don't make sense... at all.

LOL, I write erotica in my spare time, but I don't usually cyber unless I've known the person for YEARS and we're both totally cool with it.

Most of my rp's have settings that are very serious. The main characters are faced with challenged that put them in mortal peril. The idea that, in a group of people working together with great risk, and no romance pops up anywhere? It seems unrealistic to me.

Oh totally. No argument here, world in peril? People hook up. I don't know that I've ever been in such an RP adventure! Certainly not online. A few DnD sessions, perhaps.
