Dwarf Fortress
Does anyone else play this?
It's a completely free to play game that has heavy micromanaging involved. Most people use an additional program or two in order to make playing easier as well as giving time to learn. I like to have a stable fortress running in the background when I'm browsing mene sometimes. |
I've always wanted to get into this game, but ever actually have.

It's pretty fun, but recommended that you use the Laze Newb Pack. Dwarf Therapist is amazing for changing dwarf tasks.

I tried playing Dwarf Fortress a long time ago and was never able to really get into it. For some reason I never felt connected to what I was doing as the visual representation of my accomplished didn't really do it for me.
I like micro-managing and macro-managing games but Dwarf Fortress was never able to really draw me in. I have to say, on a technical level the game is absolutely amazing. I may not personally enjoy playing but its a feat worth recognizing. |
