They should've left the currency unnamed so we could keep calling it whatever we wanted without an official name trying to force itself on us. I have spending issues. I like to watch my goldie stack (and my currency stack) grow and grow and never spend it, but I still want things, and parting with the stack is hard! |D |
I thought it was always called tokens in the past events, but not the first few events in 2007 and 2008. I forget what it was called at that time.

It was called tokens after the last fancy event in 2010. Before that, there were three different types of currency with their own earning rate, themed appropriately for the event. A while after the fancy events ended in 2010, the token icon next to the currency disappeared, and people started making jokes about invisible currency, and I started telling people to call the currency whatever they wanted. However, it was still officially called tokens.
