"No, not too often, especially since after the first two or three he might go to more... extreme... measures to get rid of them."
"Which is probably not a good thing, considering he's running what essentially ends up being a shelter," Tessa pointed out. She stretched a bit. "I'll give Anna a bit of time, maybe the kitsune will talk."
Steve nodded. He was curious about the use of the word talk, since kitsunes didn't, to his knowledge, talk, but he didn't ask. Yet.
"Now, if the excitement is over for now," Tessa said, "I'm going to go find a sunny spot outside and bask for a while." That way, she would be nearby if Anna needed her for anything, but she was still out of the way.
"Go for it, I'll let you know if anything exciting happens." Steve grinned.
"Great." With that, Tessa headed outside to find a good basking spot. Sunshine on scales sounded really good at the moment.
Anna had settled outside, sitting in the grass with the kitsune and figuring out what was going on. The two were having a quiet conversation; Anna would speak or ask questions, and the kitsune would make a variety of noises back at her; chirps, squeaks, growls, purrs. Anna didn't have a problem translating.
Tessa went and settled near them, just stretching out on the grass and letting some scales ripple up on her skin so she could properly bask. She didn't interrupt their conversation yet, though.
After another half hour or so, Anna mimicked Tessa and laid back on the grass, the little kitsune stretched out across her torso. Clearly he wasn't going anywhere now.
"So what happened earlier?" Tessa asked, eyes still closed. "How'd it manage to wander into Stark's work space?"
"He got in through the vents. Apparently there's a spot just big enough for him to get through, so he got in, dropped into the nearest room, and freaked out when Stark started throwing things at him." Anna smiled a bit.
"The vents," Tessa mused. "Interesting. I should see if I can get in there and explore a bit, see if there's anything else up there."
"You could check," Anna agreed. "Wouldn't hurt, although you'll want to take a shower after you're done." She grinned.
"Yeah, probably," Tessa agreed, grinning. "Could probably go up there as a squirrel or something, that would work."
"Yeah. Something small that can climb." Anna grinned. "I'll keep everything else away so you don't have to worry about being eaten either."
Tessa snorted.
"I pity the thing that tries to eat me," she said, smirking. "They'd have no idea what they'd be getting into." |
"Nope," Anna agreed with a grin. "It would be really funny to watch."
Tessa snickered and then stretched with a soft moan. It felt good just lying on the grass for a while.
"So how goes it with the pack?" |
"The pack is pretty good," Anna said. "Some of them are not difficult to train. But the three teenage males are difficult." She smiled. "They still have egos. I'm having fun with them."
"Ah, them," Tessa said. She smirked wickedly. "I could try my luck, if you want me to." She had no qualms about getting into a scrap with the adolescent males.
"If you want. You know they'll bend once I actually show them what I am." Anna was unconcerned. She'd been doing this for a long, long time, in Fae and in this realm. She knew how to handle a few arrogant teenagers.
"Come on, you know you want to see me fight them," Tessa said, grinning. "You know I'll win."
"I do know you'll win, and I know it'll be entertaining." Anna grinned rather indulgently. "I'm not saying no, just saying it's not necessary if you don't want to."
Tessa snorted.
"When have I ever passed up the chance for a good fight?" she asked. She stretched a bit. "Two days, if they don't behave by then." |
"Works for me," Anna agreed with a grin. "In the meantime, I've got other things to do. Too many untrained animals here." She huffed a bit.
