Tessa snickered.

"It's like a personal offense to you, isn't it?" she teased.

"When someone thinks he is doing them such a service and then ignored their training and social needs for a while, it is," Anna said with an indignant sniff. "Especially when he proceeded to throw things at a scared, baby kitsune."

"To be fair, the kitsune got in where it wasn't supposed to," Tessa pointed out. "But everything else is on point."

"Just because the kitsune got it doesn't warrant throwing things at him," Anna pointed out, scratching the kitsune's ears. He purred at her. "Anyway, I'll be happier when I've gotten to my first goal point."

"Which goal is it?" Tessa asked. "Something with the hounds, or something with the rest of this place?"

"The whole place. About half these creatures can be trained to view this as home and won't need to be penned in. So that's my first goal. Second goal is socializing and rehabilitating the other half that are so feral and suspicious and territorial that they've snarled at me just for entering their cages." Anna shrugged. They were good goals, to her.

"Let me know if I can help you with that second set," Tessa offered. "I know sometimes all the feral ones need is another of their kind to tell them it's safe."

"I will, as soon as I've spent some more time with them. You can certainly help with socializing, as well." Anna yawned briefly. "But that won't be for a few more weeks at the earliest."

"Let me know when," Tessa said. She grinned a bit. "Planning to nap in the sun?"

"No, I'll end up burned." Anna made a face. "Resting for a bit longer, though, would be nice. After that I have to find somewhere to put this guy while I work." She poked the kitsune, who squeaked at her.

"As long as he stays out of trouble, I might be able to look after him," Tessa offered. "For a little while, at least."

Anna chuckled. "We'll see what he agrees to," she said with a grin. But she did sit up and move into the shade so she wouldn't burn.

Tessa moved with her, the scales on her skin vanishing again. She stretched out in the shade with a sigh.

Anna gave herself a bit more time before she left the kitsune with Tessa, with a stern warning not to get into any more trouble, and went to go work on training again.

Tessa just grinned a bit and took over the babysitting of the kitsune. After a moment of thought, she turned herself into a kitsune so that the little one had someone appropriate to play with.

When Anna finished for the day, she found the two romping around in the grass playing, with Steve and at least one other person watching them from inside. Anna snorted and walked over to them.

"Alright, time to head back to the apartment, then you can play more."

Tessa got up from pretending to be pinned and just grabbed her clothes in her teeth. No sense in changing back now and being naked in front of everyone when she could just ride in the car the way she was. She playfully whapped the little kitsune with a tail as she passed.

The kitsune growled at her playfully and ran after her, his own two tails waving behind him as he ran. Anna snorted and let them into the back seat of the car to play, shaking her head.

Tessa hopped into the back of the car and settled down onto the seat. She knew better than to play in the car. Time to set a half-way decent example for the little one.

The little kitsune tried to play with her again, but when she wouldn't, he huffed and flopped down across the seat, almost pouting.

"Here we are, home again home again." Anna parked in front of their apartment and let the other two out.

Tessa got out and nudged the little kitsune into the apartment. Time to settle in for a bit.
