Alright I'm going to tell you a story.
My friend plays CoD.
On the PS3 but CoD is the same on all systems.
He had played online and had come in contact with a hacker unknowingly.
Hackers sometimes have this thing where it gives your system a virus.
My friend had to reformat his whole PS3 because of it.

So what I'm guessing is that the same thing happened to you just not as severe as him.

You can try getting a new hard drive and seeing if that helps.
/unless you have an elite, I don't know anything about hard drives on those
And you can use a usb drive to move your saved game data over to the new hard drive.
Or you can just get a whole new system.

But at least still ask your brother.
I might be wrong.

I did try everything for months.
I looked into it and I asked the local game store and they tried to help me and there was nothing I could do.
So I didn't play my 360 for a whole like 1 to 2 years.
I was so mad.

See I can't go that long without playing my game, by time the 6 months have past I would have painted like six full canvas pictures of video games.
Its kind of like I'm addicted.
