And I agree with Hummy, they really aren't a bother to clean up! At least ours aren't. And the first year we had the cats, they were all up in it but for the most part our cat now, just sleeps under it. [yes]

Man, I always thought they'd leave pine needles everywhere. Books and films have lied to me!

Lavi: Never saw that one...

Ah. Sustained loud noises will give me a headache. And heaps of stress, mild stress not as much. I think I'll set fire to one of our candles to get some of that chirstmasy smell in the apartment.

hummy 12-21-2014 12:47 AM

if you keep the tree well hydrated and it's fresh, like cloudies, it's minimal pine needle droppage -3

If you leave them in the house too long and they start to dry out, then yeah you get needles everywhere.

hummy 12-21-2014 12:48 AM

you can also put a Christmas tree bag under the tree
it makes clean up a SNAP!

Liquid Diamond 12-21-2014 12:55 AM

I have a fake tree hanging up, as we have an apartment and dragging it outside would leave needles in the fancy lobbies and hallways (seriously, my complex looks like a hotel). I love my tree though :3 it's perfect and tall!

Wonderlands 12-21-2014 12:56 AM

This is v. interesting. Like Christmas in different countries is so neat.

i feel best around mid seventies.
but i got my insulin reduced so i am in the very low 100's now.
i'm not happy with being in the hundreds for my fasting BG though.
hummyfather is usually between 104-110 which he says is optimal

I see... I'm glad you're taking it more seriously. Mid seventies sounds good, but hearing it being in the low 100s is a big relief after all those low scares =/

CloudDreamer 12-21-2014 01:10 AM

Yes it is! Too many people forget this time of year to care for themselves and end up sick, stressed, run down. So go make your self that cup of tea you wanted and read a book you like! [illgetu]

CloudDreamer 12-21-2014 01:11 AM

we have a homemade tree skirt under our tree, that grandma made that makes clean up of the minimal pine needles easy to clean up. :)

Take care~

Those kinds of smells / candles give me nasty nasty headaches... :/ I can't stand scented candles.

And noise in general gives me headaches if I can't get away from it.
It's more over stimulation from noise that gives me headaches.

I'm sorry. :< we get candles that smell more natural. Like forests or trees or actual flowers. the really heavy scents are just too much and overpowering.

Deep noises are the worst for me, like the sounds of industrial refrigeration units. they physically hurt me. I can't be in the cold section in Sams Club for too long.

Those things are the worst. :/ Because people think they smell natural, when they really don't. My roommates don't seem to understand that when I Say I'm allergic to air fresheners... ALL TYPES... that I'm making it up. I'm about ready when I get back to throw EVERYTHING away that's in common areas that's strong scented... no joke.

I don't mind like noises like that - my thing is like loud rooms where people talk... that's what gives me headaches. I don't get out much because of it.

Lavinia 12-21-2014 01:24 AM

I quite like incense smells but my mums the same as you Cloud she's very sensitive to perfumes of any kind.

But then she smokes...so it's strange she can handle that smell but not perfumes xD

CloudDreamer 12-21-2014 01:27 AM

Incense is even worse than air fresheners for me. And smoke from cigarettes are not fun and make my asthma act up and give me headaches too.

My roommates had incense one day, I swear it - which is against dorm rules too. I swear my roommates think that all rules don't apply to them.

Wonderlands 12-21-2014 01:33 AM

Cigarette smoke is the worst. My mum has smoked all of my life and its so annoying. As bad as it sounds, its nice when I go away or when she goes away so I dont smell it, but as soon as I or she comes back, its like doubly worse, haha.
