That could work. I just know I need weather where I can wear my boots and scarves and warm jackets that are soft and fluffy... but I can't wear any of that down here as the weather doesn't allow for it. :(
That sounds nice. I don't have boots although I probably need them. I hate shoe shopping. :/ But I LOVE scarves. I wear those year round. Hmmm. New York sounds nice.
I have some really nice riding boots that I can only wear when it's cold as they make my feet way too hot otherwise. I miss being able to wear those boots, and my scarves - all my pretty scarves. :( I can't wait to get back up home and AS FAR AS I CAN GET FROM LA... I can not stand LA and Southern California at all.
lol. I am not sure I would like LA or cali for that matter. I cannot deal with all of those earthquakes.

Hi onsenmark!
Oh, honestly... the earthquakes are NOT as bad as the news makes them out to be... Don't believe everything you hear in the news. [yes] Especially if you've not lived through one. I sleep through them most of the time. [yes]
I felt a little tremor here in WV once. It was the one that was felt down the east coast. It wasn't much. But I couldn't imagine that at any moment a larger earthquake could happen. Maybe it is just my anxiety. haha.
Honestly... they are not bad... What so ever...
It is probably just my anxiety.
Whelp. People are afraid of different things. I'm afraid of earthquakes too. I have a bad habit of looking at structures and concluding how impossible it would be to survive an earthquake in that particular one should a strong enough one hit.
Ive experienced one earthquake in my life and it was just so out of the blue I was like, well that kind of happened. We aren't anywhere near fault lines so its super rare for it to happen.
Saying that though, I would never want to get caught in one near fault lines because they have the possibility to be catastrophic. So I dont think they are to be brushed off that easily. That goes for a few disasters. |
I've never experienced a catastrophic earthquake. But I hope I never do. I'm grossly unprepared for any terrible force of nature.
Anything like, falling/disintergrating structures is considered catastrophic for me, haha. But still, they would be pretty scary because you think of that possibility.
The only sort of natural disasters we get here are fires, cyclones and the occasional tornado. We are well prepared for Cyclones. |
I live in a place with a lot of taaall buildings. So if they started falling down... What do you do if you're on the top floor?!
The house I lived in up until I was 11, was only a few miles from a fault line... and there was one pretty major earthquake - I don't remember it, I Wasn't even one yet... but the house survived.. Everything was fine. to me Earthquakes are no big deal really. [yes] They're not as bad as most people seem to think they are.
Most buildings have to be built to code with Earthquake standards. [yes] So if there was one, they won't fall. |
I don't know. I find it hard to believe that a taaall tall building could survive a 10.0 earthquake. [gonk]
That is a game of what if... You will get no where with asking yourself what if questions. *shrugs*
Are earthquakes common where you live? |

Like what could you do? In the city you have the chance of things falling on you. In a not really populated area or say a field, any sort of shake could disrupt the surface. You dont know whats underneath you, there could be a hole! Now Im just overthinking things. |
xD Its definitely not a healthy mindset.
I think asking yourself questions is the best thing to do. Gives you a different look on the world.
Sometimes very helpful. |
LOL. I don't know, I don't think there's anything you can do! And this is why I worry about it! I mean, I've not been on the top floor of a taaall building or anything of the sort in years, but I still worry!
