Lori grabbed the keys from his poker and slid behind the wheel driving in silence staring at the road.
"So can I tell?" Joker gave her his smirk he wasn't a puppy face kind of guy. |
Gemini shook her head. "Let the guy get married first, then ruin his life." She bargained.
Bruce stayed silent, trying to figure out a way to help Lori. Eventually, he got an idea, but he wasn't sure it would work. It;s worth a shot... He thought. |
"Your thinking again." Lori smirked. "I can smell the smoke." She teased pulling into his garage. "Can I know what your thinking?"
"Deal!" Joker said a little to enthusiastically grinning like a crazy person. "Oh I can't wait it will need to be planned perfectly." He pulled her into a hug. "We can go bowling then I'll need to get started. |
Bruce looked up and chuckled. "No, not yet. I'm not sure it makes any sense yet." He answered vaguely. No, he wasn't going to get her hopes up before he even knew if it was possible.
Gemini laughed, a little startled at the sudden reaction. "Okay, bowling's fine. It shouldn't take long for me to kick your butt at it, either." She said, taunting slightly. |
"We can do for free as well." Joker smirked. "If I stay they way I am."
"Very well." Lori smiled and got out of the car. "Shall we make some food?" she asked. |
Gemini paused to think for a moment. "You know what? Why the hell not. I like you either way, and if we don't have to deal with other people...bonus."
Bruce unbuckled and got out as well. "Food sounds good. Can I help this time?" He asked with a smile. True, he couldn't cook, but he liked it when Lori tried to teach him. |
"Lets go then." Joker took her hand and lead the way.
Lori laughed "as long as you promise not to burn anything." she teased and took his hand. She opened the fridge digging out what she wanted and handed everything to him. |
Gemini smiled and followed. Behind them, Lucifer looked over at the two hyenas and waved his tail hello.
"I'll try my best, but I can't promise anything." Bruce said, chuckling. He followed her into the kitchen and took everything as she handed it to him, arranging it carefully on the counter. So far, so good. |
The hyenas nodded back watching Joker leave. He entered the first bowling alley he found and the place emptied at one with a laugh he picked a lane. "Ready?"
"Cut this stuff." Lori demanded placing the tomato in front of him "then open this can." she wrestled open the hamburger package and began to cook it keeping one eye on him. |
Gemini shook her head as she walked in. "That's useful, but honestly these people are pathetic sometimes. You'd think they'd be used to you showing up randomly by now." She said, going to pick up a ball. "I'm ready."
Bruce nodded and started cutting the tomato. Besides the first cut, which sprayed tomato juice all over him, it went pretty well. Once that was done, he opened the can. Thankfully, that was something he already knew how to do. "Okay, what now?" |
"Ladies first." Joker said then tossed the ball down to the pins knocking them down.
Lori gestured distractedly to the pot of boiling water and the rice pilaf box. |
Gemini just shook her head. "You do realize you just called yourself a lady." She said, moving to take her turn. "And no one is here to disagree with you." She added as she rolled the ball, getting a strike on the first turn. "Oh, how lucky."
Bruce raised an eyebrow, but figured he got the idea. He went and opened the box, and poured it into the boiling water. Unfortunately, he poured it a bit too fast and got boiling water splashed on his arm. "Ow! Son of a brick!" He said, shaking his arm. |
Lori looked up quickly. "Are you alright?" she asked examining his arm. "You have to be more carefully." she kissed his wound gentle.
"I like joking around its what I do." Joker shrugged and took his turn not really paying attention. |
"I'm fine..." Bruce mumbled, blushing a little. How had he managed to screw up pouring something into something else? Most people learned that skill as an infant!
Gemini just gave him a 'no shit' look and marked down the scores. "Really. I never would have guessed." She said sarcastically, then took her turn. |
"Well I'm glad I let you in on the secret." Joker smirked a little not noticing her look. "Want a snack or something?"
"As long as your alright." Lori patted his arm. "Want to finish the task?" |
Gemini snorted, but dropped the subject. "Yeah, sure." She answered instead.
Bruce nodded. "I'm alright. I want to finish." He said. He certainly didn't want to quit now! |
"Alright." Lori turned back to her other ingredients going silent as she cooked humming a little.
Joker went to the vending machine and opened the door. "Have at it then." He grinned working to open the soda machine. |
Bruce finished doing what he had been doing, then went back to Lori. "What do I do now?" He asked.
"Yep, I saw that coming." Gemini said, checking the expiration date on a few of the items. "You should be careful, you're starting to get predictable." She teased. |
Joker froze and suddenly pulled a girl from behind the counter. "Am I?" he asked the girl throwing her towards the lanes. "Lets play with this pin." he laughed.
Lori looked up. "Set the table." she was finishing up. "Or watch the meat." |
Gemini only spared a glance at the girl. "You can if you want to, but I'd rather actually play the game." She said. She couldn't bring herself to do anything to an innocent bystander...but that didn't mean she had to ruin it for him. "Damn, half this stuff is older than I am. Well...I'll risk it. This looks the least horrifying." She pulled out a bag of chips and went back to the lane.
Bruce thought for a moment, then went to set the table. "Why do you need to watch the meat? What's it going to do?" He asked, half kidding. |
Lori looked at him so surprised by his words that she wasn't sure what to say. Finally she took the hot spatula and hit his arm with it. "idiot." she frowned "make sure is doesn't burn dumb butt."
Joker was tying the girl at the end of the alley. "You think so?" he asked smirking aiming the ball at her tossing it lightly so it hit her legs gentle. |
Bruce laughed. "Relax, Lori, I was only kidding. I'm not that stupid, you know." He said, rubbing his arm where she'd hit him.
"Uh, yeah." Gemini replied, sitting down. "Just so we're clear, this doesn't count towards your score." She added with a smirk. |
"I don't care about the score." joker throw the ball towards the girls head laughing with glee.
"Some times I wonder about you." Lori sighed setting the table. |
"Kay then." Gemini said, pretending not to watch. Admitting it disturbed her slightly, but she was actually kind of fascinated by what was going on. Was it really that enjoyable to randomly hurt someone? A tiny, dark part of her wanted to say yes.
"What? What did I do?" Bruce said, pouting. "See, this is why I don't kid around. I'm no good at it." |
Joker kept at it even as the girl pleaded with him. His anger had gotten the better of him and all he wanted was to kill her.
Lori grinned at him. "I was joking around as well love." |
