Name: Tyikee Aziz
Age: 21 Appearance: this but brown hair (you may also refer to my avi for the time being.) Height: 5'10" |
As the sun set on the eastern kingdom a light was blown out in the window high in the castle. The dark shadows that were cast on the side of the castle made it seem a little foreboding. A tiny figure crept along the walls of the castle and climbed down the wall, finding the hand and footholds fairly easy. When she reached the bottom, she had to duck behind a barrel to avoid a guard, then she snuck out and smiled, feeling the free air.
Moments after sunset, Tyikee was wandering the streets of the new city he had arrived at earlier that day. He had kept to the shadows, observing and learning the ins and outs of the city. Once the sun had set, he climbed up a building and onto the roof. He liked the vantage point up there much better than he did on the ground.
He wandered around a bit more, jumping from roof to roof, and after a few minutes, he noticed a young girl whom he decided he should follow. She held herself differently than the rest of the people in that area, and somehow that made him feel like she would create interesting activities for him were he to get involved. She might also prove to help him should he befriend her. |
After a while of walking the brightly lit streets, she turned into an alleyway. After a moment she knocked on a door softly and someone opened a sliding wood window in the door. "Oh, its you." Then it closed again and the door opened. A woman smiled at her and pulled her inside. "I am glad to see you tonight. Have you got the list?" The blonde nodded and handed over a small letter. "I hope it helps." The woman hugged her and kissed her cheek. "You are always helping us. Thank you." The girl smiled and nodded her head. "My pleasure." Then she turned and walked out of the door, it closed immediately behind her.
Tyikee watched as this went on and knew right away that the girl was definitely going to cause some excitement. She was up to something, that was for sure. He followed her some more and after a moment he jumped off the roof and landed silently next to her. He pulled out a peach from his satchel and handed it to her as he pulled out another. "Here, Enjoy a peach." He said before he vanished into the shadows of an alleyway. He jumped back onto the rooftops and watched her, curious as to what she would do.
Eusme jumped when he was suddenly beside her. The dust from his landing made her shield her eyes. A peach? Was that what he'd said? She frowned at the peach in her hand once she could see and the dust had settled. "How strange.." She glanced around to see if he was in the area anywhere, then looked up. "Whoever you are, I do not like peaches. You can have it back, or I will throw it out."
Tyikee crouched on the edge of the roof, "Well, that's a waste. Why not give it to someone else?" he said, biting into his own peach. The juice, instead of being clear, ran red, like a strawberry. "By the way, it's not a normal peach." he smiled, his grin lighting up his face. Even with his bag and satchel he was able to move silently and easily, giving away the fact that he'd worn them a lot and for long periods of time.
She peered at the peach after she looked up at the man. "Well, it looks like a normal peach to me." She pulled out a knife and cut a slice out of it, peering at the inside. "Still looks normal." Whatever this man was up to, she wasn't really pleased with it. She was actually starting to get annoyed and it showed on her face. "Look, if you're going to talk to me, come down here. You're hurting my neck."
He smiled and flipped off the edge of the roof and landed next to her, this time being sure to not kick up any dust. Again, his landing was silent. "Taste it." He said and he furnished his own knife and cut a slice for himself. Taking a bite of his slice, he said "I believe this one tastes like a mango mixed with dragonfruit and a slight hint of a pear...yup. I was right." He took the bit of the fruit showing her it wasn't suspicious, just unusual. "They're a native fruit in my home land." he smiled softly.
Eusme stiffened, but didn't move back from the strange man. "How did you do that anyhow? Are you some sort of ape?" She sniffed the peach now, waiting for his answer. It smelled like a peach..this guy was pulling her leg. A peach tasted like a peach..not a mango or dragon fruit or pear. Maybe he was just crazy..
He smiled. "No, dearie, I'm just very... acrobatic. It took a lot of training for me to be able to achieve it. And i know you probably think i'm crazy when it comes to the flavor of the peach, but I'm not, i assure you." He had almost thought about making a joke about his "pet sock" assuring her, but he decided that it was not in his best interests to joke about his sanity when that was the thing in question. "And I know because i get that response every time someone doesn't like peaches and takes things at face value, which, incidentally, is what you're doing right at this very moment." he looked at her with an expression that essentially said "C'mon, you know better than to do that."
"Acrobatic, huh? The only people I've heard of that can move like that are assassins." She left that in the air for a moment, then sighed heavily, clearly fed up with his teasing manner, accusing her of judging. "Fine, I'll eat your silly peach." She took a bit of the piece she'd cut off and her eyebrows rose in surprise. "What kind of crazy peach is this?" She ate the rest of the slice and inspected the rest of the peach in her hands, turning it over, as if trying to figure out any difference between it and a normal peach.
Tyikee smiled."I can assure you I'm not an assassin, however, I have been trained in combat. The peach,as I've said before, is native to my homeland. It takes on the flavor of the fruit planted next to it, and the flavor of the juices our farmers pour over their roots, such as the mango and dragonfruit flavors in that peach." He smiled softly and held out his hand, "my name is Tyikee Aziz. I'm a traveler and you seemed interesting so I decided to talk to you."
((Yay long phone reply!)) |
Eusme sighed and bit into the fruit, deciding not to question it anymore. But, she did have a lot of questions about him. "That's an..interesting name. Where are you from?"
He smiled softly at her remark about his name, but when she asked where he was from, his eyes darkened "far away. Until I get to know you better, that's all I'm willing to say." He shrugged and the light came back to his eyes. " there's something about you that makes me curious... Who are you?"
Eusme found this curious, her eyes sparkled with mischief. When he asked who she was, she just grinned. "Jes. And that all I am willing to say." She wasn't stupid enough to give him information about herself. Especially one of her stature.
He smiled big, "fair enough. So, Jes, I'm going to assume you're not from this neighborhood but you know it well, perhaps because of a relative or friend, or perhaps for reasons you are hiding. Regardless, you would be the right person to ask, where is a good place to get food? If you'd like to accompany me, I'll order something and we can find a building and climb it's walls and eat and talk under the stars?" He knew he was being rather forward, but he really just didn't care. He wanted company, and not of the escort variety.
She seemed surprised, if not embarrassed by his sudden offer to eat with him on the rooftops. Although, it did sound like an interesting way to pass the time...and she was a little peckish. "Alright. I will take you up on your offer." She crooked a finger as if to say to follow her. Then she turned on the spot, her cape catching the breeze as she did.
He grinned and followed her, and as he walked he asked, "what types of food for this place serve?" He wanted an idea before they got there.
She shrugged slightly, then looked around as they walked. She rarely got a chance to get out of the castle and tonight was special. "Well, it really depends on what you want. I think maybe..roast beef is on the menu tonight."
Tyikee smiled, " sounds wonderful. It's been a while since I have had a meal that I haven't had to cook myself." He kept following her.
"Yeah..me too." Then she frowned a little to herself. Lying like that hadn't normally bugged her. It came easily when she was dealing with anyone that didn't know who she was. Even Jess wasn't her real name. Only a hand full of people in the whole country knew who she was...well, more like what she looked like. Whenever they went on parades or whatever, she never showed any skin. Her face covered by a veil and her hair hidden by a sort of 'bun' hat.
When they got to the place she mentioned, she smirked as she heard the rowdy drunks inside. |
"So two roast beef dinners to go?" He asked, smiling. The tavern looked crowded and sounded pretty hectic. "I'll be right back, then." And with that, he went inside. He made his way around the drunks rather easily, moved his bag to be in front of him, got to the barkeep, and said, "Two of your roast beef specials to go please. " He fished out his money as the barkeep told him the total and told the barmaid next to him what to tell the cook. Tyikee handed the man two silver pieces, a gold piece, and four bronze pieces, giving enough for a pleasant tip for him and the barmaid and the chef. It took 3 silver pieces to a gold piece, 6 bronze pieces to a silver, and 2 gold to a pewter piece. Tyikee rarely came across pewter pieces, and knew that it was best for him to get rid of the gold and pewter so as not to be pick-pocketed. The pewter always looked dingier than the silver piece it was next to having been enchanted by the coin smiths. If you had a handful of silver pieces they would all look identical in appearance, but pewter varied in color.
After a few moments, the barmaid handed Tyikee the food andas Tyikee thanked her, a drunk man fell into him. Tyikee's reflexes made it so that nothing spilled except for the man, who got angry at tyikee for moving. "Drink a little less, sir, and maybe you wouldn't be on the floor, "whispered Tyikee as he helped the dunkard up. Tyikee had a way with individual drunks that made them not get angry at him for too long. The problem he had was when too many were mad at him. "Have a good night." he said as he left the tavern. "Well, shall we go? I think i saw a nice grassy area on the way here, if you'd like to go there. Or we can go with the original plan and climb up to a roof." |
She stood outside and waited for him to return, avoiding the drunken men that stumbled out. One or two of them hitting on her. She politely would tell them to get lost and returned her attention to nothing in particular. Most of them left. She only had to persuade one to leave by almost breaking his hand. When Tyikee finally returned, she looked a little relieved. "Come on. I think the roof is the better option tonight."
