"Indeed." Daemon smirked. "It will be interesting to see Stark's reaction to Kaelas, though."
Lucivar snickered.
"You'll have to let me know how that one goes," he said. |
"Oh I will." Daemon smirked. "Well, that's one. If I can find one more in this lot I will consider today a success."
"We'll see what happens after lunch," Lucivar replied. "Who knows, maybe someone else got pointed our way."
"We'll see." Daemon settled in for a little while longer.
After lunch, someone else did indeed head their way. Charles Xavier smiled when he spotted the two. He'd been doing a little eavesdropping on people around the room, and Tony had pointed him back to Daemon and Lucivar. So he was going to talk to them and see what he thought. |
From the other side of the room, Robin Goodfellow was also making the rounds. He had decided it was high time to join up with a group, even though he didn't really need to. It was time to stop being solitary for a while. Here and there, he heard some talk about a pair of males who were boasting unusually high standards, so he made his way over in that direction. It was a good place to start.
Charles found the brothers first and smiled at them.
"Good day, my name is Charles Xavier. I was hoping you are still looking to accept someone?" "Possibly," Daemon said, looking him over. Polite, nice, British, all those were good things for Heather. |
"What kind of group are you looking to join?" Lucivar asked, also looking Xavier over. The man seemed a little too prim and proper for Lily, but that didn't mean much.
"Someone who doesn't mind mutants, to start," Charles said with a little smile. "Preferably a bit more of a relaxed group, as I do have other things that need attending. I don't mind animals, I don't mind not being in charge, in fact I prefer not to be in charge." He shrugged.
Daemon nodded. So far, this one sounded at least half-way decent. "And why now?" Charles was quiet for a moment. "I think now is a good time to be looking. It hasn't seemed quite right before now." |
Lucivar listened intently. So far, this one wasn't bad, but he still didn't seem like a perfect fit for Lily. Lucivar couldn't quite put his finger on why, but he knew that it wasn't exactly perfect. So he just gave his brother a bit of a nudge, letting him know this one was all his.
Daemon nodded. "We will be here tomorrow as well, and our ladies will be joining us," he said. "If you'd like to come by and meet them. After noon but before two, if possible. I'd like to get an early start back."
"Of course. I look forward to it." Charles smiled and stood. So far he liked these two, and he didn't think he'd mind either one. Although he had noticed the silent communication that hinted that he was going to be getting to know Daemon better. |
"I think you were saying something about one more?" Lucivar teased his brother as Charles left.
"Indeed." Daemon smirked. "Today might be successful after all." He glanced at Lucivar. "Although I didn't hear you objecting to another potential, either."
Lucivar shrugged.
"I'm glad I found one," he said. "Another would just be a bonus. Today's not a total waste, so I'm fine." |
Daemon nodded and watched as Robin sauntered over towards them. "Another one?" He sounded amused, though. Four in less than an hour was rather amazing, after all.
"I take it I'm not the first to find myself pointed in this direction," Robin said, giving a charming grin as he approached the table. "I'm Goodfellow, Robin Goodfellow. I've heard you're both the gentlemen to see around here."
"I suppose that depends on what you're looking for," Daemon replied, looking at him and motioning for him to take a seat.
"Not a lot, really," Robin replied, sitting down. "Fun, laid-back, entertaining. Not a large group, but I don't want to be the only one, either, although I'm assuming that you're here representing at least one lady, if not two, so I think I'm alright in that regard."
Daemon nodded, although so far he was getting the feeling this one would be better suited to Lily. "We each have our own lady," he agreed. "How are you with animals?"
"No strong opinion right now about them," Robin replied, shrugging. "I don't dislike them, at any rate."
So far, Lucivar could definitely see Robin joining up with Lily. He seemed pretty much exactly what Lily needed. |
Daemon looked at Lucivar and quirked an eyebrow, to ask if he had any questions. Because Robin definitely seemed to be a better fit with Lily than with Heather so far.
"Why look for a group now?" Lucivar asked, studying Robin.
"Why not?" Robin asked in return. "I just figured it was time. I've been solitary for a while now, it will be nice to be around a few others again." |
Daemon leaned back in his seat. Yup, he was definitely going to leave this one to Lily and Lucivar. Robin seemed more their speed than his.
Robin noticed the motion and refocused his attention on the other man. Clearly, the one with the wings was his best bet.
Lucivar studied Robin for a few moments, and then nodded. "Our ladies will be here tomorrow," he said. "Come back then and talk to them. They have final say." Robin nodded. "I'll do that," he said. |
"Well. Two apiece, that's good," Daemon murmured, watching Robin go. "They all seem like they should be good matches, even."
