"I'm surprised," Lucivar replied. "You don't usually hear about matches this good."
|
"Indeed," Daemon agreed. "Today seems to be going well for a change."
|
"Don't tempt fate," Lucivar said, nudging his brother with a smirk. "There's always the chance the girls won't like them." Although, to be honest, he knew that chance was very, very slim. He was confident in his choices to present to Lily, and he was certain Daemon was, too.
|
Daemon snorted quietly and settled in. He doubted anyone else would show up the rest of the day.
And he was right, although he was expecting Heather to make an appearance a little later that night. |
Heather did show up that evening with an overnight bag on her shoulder.
"How did it go today?" she asked when she saw Daemon. |
"Fairly well. Much better than last year." Daemon pulled out a chair for her. "I have two potential matches for you to meet tomorrow."
|
"Two?" Heather asked, surprised. "I'm impressed you managed to find two that you approve of enough to pass on to me."
|
"I was rather surprised as well," Daemon agreed. "However, they both seem to be fine. I told them to come by around noon tomorrow at the table Lucivar and I claimed."
|
Heather nodded.
"Alright," she said. She didn't ask who Daemon found, however; it was common knowledge that sometimes famous names showed up at these sorts of things, and she didn't want any sort of preconceived bias on the off-chance that it was indeed a famous name that Daemon had picked. |
"Have you eaten yet?" Daemon asked, looking at her. Because he could and would spoil her, when he was allowed.
|
Heather gave an indulgent sigh.
"No," she said, grinning a bit. "I knew you were going to ask, so I figured a later dinner was fine tonight." |
"Good." Daemon smirked faintly. "Where would you like to go, then? Or would you prefer to eat here?"
|
"It doesn't matter to me," Heather replied with a bit of a grin. "Whatever you like." It was subtle permission to spoil her that she knew Daemon would pick up on. But she didn't mind giving that permission this time; he'd spent the day making arrangements to share her, after all, so he deserved some time to spoil her by himself before that happened.
|
"Out it is, then." Daemon picked up her coat, holding it for her. "I know just the place."
And it helped that he'd called ahead and reserved a quiet table in a corner for them. |
"Lead the way, then," Heather said, letting him help her into her coat.
Elsewhere, Lucivar was making sure the room was good for Lily to show up. He knew she would arrive pretty soon. |
Daemon walked with her to the restaurant, which was nearby and had good, high-quality sushi. Because he knew she didn't get sushi very often, especially not the really good stuff.
Lily knocked on the door politely, shrugging out of her jacket and shaking her hair out of its bun so she could rebraid it properly. |
Heather grinned when she saw the sushi place. Oh yes, Daemon knew how to spoil her.
Lucivar opened the door quickly. "There you are," he said. "I was starting to wonder what was keeping you." |
Daemon took her straight over to the table and pulled out her chair for her.
"Hit a bit of traffic," Lily said with a little grin. "Nothing to worry about." |
Heather smiled a bit as she sat down.
"You had this all planned out already," she said. "Alright," Lucivar said. "You hungry?" |
"I thought you might be hungry," Daemon replied with a smirk. "I just planned ahead."
"I could eat, yeah," Lily said with a little grin. "You eaten yet?" |
"And if I'd said I wasn't hungry?" Heather teased as the waiter brought them some tea.
"Not yet," Lucivar replied. "In the mood for anything in particular?" |
"I'd have canceled the reservation and drawn you a bath," Daemon said with a lazy smirk. Because clearly he liked to plan ahead.
"Oh, I don't know. Surprise me." Lily shrugged, knowing that she'd just given him permission to pick and spoil her a bit, but she didn't mind. This time. |
"Whole nine yards tonight, I take it," Heather said, grinning. "I wouldn't object to that bath when we get back."
Lucivar grinned and went to get the phone. Time to order in and spoil Lily for the rest of the night. He knew she'd appreciate a bath and a massage. |
"I thought as much." Daemon looked rather pleased with himself. "You can pick tonight, whatever you'd like."
Lily just grinned a bit and went to go take off her boots and get comfy. |
Heather smiled and picked up the menu. She had a good idea of what she wanted.
Lucivar put in the order for dinner, and then went to start a bath for Lily. He knew what his lady liked. |
