"You came up from your workshop Saturday thinking it was still Thursday," Clint replied, smirking. "Tell me again how you don't lose track of days?"
|
"It was still Thursday as far as I was concerned, I'd been up since then," Tony said. "Jarvis made sure I had nutrition." He scowled at Clint.
|
"It was still a three-day work binge," Clint pointed out. He grinned. "Make sure she knows about those."
|
"Those require a workshop which I won't have so shoo. Go away. Don't you have someone new to bother now?" Tony made shooing motions at him.
|
"It's only fair, you crashed my interview," Clint replied, grinning.
Heather tried valiantly not to laugh at the pair of them. A few giggles still escaped. |
"Nope, don't care, shoo." Tony noticed that Heather didn't seem to upset, though, which was good.
|
Clint snickered and meandered back over to Lily's table.
Heather grinned. "Does that happen often?" she asked. |
"Which, the interview crashing or the workshop binges?" Tony raised an eyebrow at her.
"Well done," Lily said with a grin. Clearly she was highly amused by both of them. |
"Both," Heather said after a moment.
"Thanks," Clint said with a grin. "Glad you approve." |
"Well, I don't interview often, so no." Tony paused. "Workshop binges happen." He didn't specify how often, though.
Lily grinned. "I don't mind little pranks at all," she said. "Although you have to be careful with this one." She poked Lucivar's side teasingly. |
"I see," Heather said. She noticed that he didn't say how often. "Well, I don't see anything that can't be worked around, so I'm game if you are."
Lucivar rolled his eyes and rustled his wing a bit, but didn't comment. He did grin slightly, though. |
Tony grinned. "Excellent, sounds good to me," he agreed. "I won't stay full time, obviously I have other things to do too, so as long as that isn't an issue then we're good."
Lily grinned. Lucivar was so good, he tolerated so much bullshit from her, she was kind of astounded. |
"That's fine with me," Heather replied, nodding. "Just let me know when you think you might be gone for extended periods of time, alright?"
|
"Yeah, sure, I can do that," Tony agreed. That was easy, he'd just tell Jarvis, and Jarvis would take care of it.
|
Heather nodded and grinned.
"Welcome to the group, then," she said. |
"Excellent." Tony grinned and shifted his chair. "You expecting anyone else today?"
|
"According to Daemon, one other," Heather said. "Not sure who, though."
Across the room, Robin walked through the doors and strode confidently over to where he saw Lucivar looming. He didn't intend to fail this interview. |
Tony nodded and settled off to the side, watching the rest of the room. He saw Robin heading over to Lily's table but shrugged it off. At least until he saw Charles. Then he sat up straighter, grinning like a loon as Charles approached Heather's table.
Charles smiled when he saw and felt Tony's enthusiasm, but mentally cautioned him to wait until he'd at least introduced himself to Heather. Lily noticed Robin pretty quickly and glanced back at Lucivar for confirmation before she smiled. "I take it you're my other interview of the day." |
Heather noticed Tony perk up, and she looked around to see if she could figure out why. When she saw someone coming over to the table, she blinked. Two rather famous names coming to interview with her today? What were the odds of that?
"Indeed I am," Robin said, giving her an easy, charming grin. "Robin Goodfellow, at your service." |
"Hello, I'm Charles Xavier," Charles said with a warm smile. "It's lovely to meet you, Heather."
Lily grinned. "I'm Lily. Have a seat, Robin." So far, at least, he looked interesting. |
"Hello, Charles," Heather said. She couldn't help but smile back. "I take it you're my other interview today?"
Robin sat down in the other open chair, lounging easily. "So I hear you're looking to expand your group a bit," he said. "You're in luck, for I seem to be looking for a group to join for the time being." |
"I am," Charles agreed. "I hadn't realized Tony was interviewing here as well, I do hope he hasn't been too... evasive."
"Hey!" Tony pouted. Lily grinned. "Well, then, I'm sure we can figure something out," she said. "How are you with animals?" |
Heather laughed a bit.
"No, he's fine," she said. "So what brings you here? Go ahead and sit down." "Animals?" Robin considered that for a moment. "So long as we stay out of one another's way, I suppose they're fine." |
"Well, I'm looking for somewhere to relax. A group I get along with, which in part I already know I do." Charles smiled a bit. "I was hoping to find someone willing to put up with a few... oddities."
"They won't bother you," Lily agreed. "But that's good, I've got two. What are you looking for in a group, Robin?" |
"What kind of oddities are we talking about, here?" Heather asked, curious.
"Laid-back and entertaining, ideally," Robin said. He gave a bit of a cheeky grin. "I bore easily, and a bored puck is not something anyone wants to deal with, though I have no idea why, because I am clearly just this side of sublime." |
