Now I wish I could record the noises it makes and plague you with them [illgetu] It's still doing it, not often, but every few days it will do the spider noise and freak me out. >.>
|
I looked up why a fridge might make a squeaking noise... this is what I saw:

I got freaking ants again. Yet another reason to hate cold weather, ALL THE OUTSIDE THINGS COME INSIDE. *gags* I must kill them all.
|
Lol, Poet, prophet of doom, it makes the noise when I open the door so the temperature drops and it kicks in again, it's just to noise of it starting up sounds like those damn spiders. ><

I'm...not sure I've ever actually had an actual cupcake [shock] In England those little cakes are called fairy cakes, and are much smaller and...well, British. In other words, a bit mean. [lol]
http://www.pakladies.com/wp-content/...0/03/cakes.jpg Smaller, see, and fairy cake cases are a lot smaller than muffin cases. How big are cupcakes normally? Here, if you're really lucky people will put a little bit of icing on the top and maybe some sprinkles or those silver balls. http://i.guim.co.uk/static/w-620/h--...y-cake-006.jpg If they're seriously pushing the boat out they might have turned them into butterfly cakes. >< Oh the decadence! http://www.thatslife.com.au/e2Shop/u...122/butter.jpg What the hell, buttercream and jam! Disgusting extravagance!! Oh wait, the url for that image is .au. Australian not British! That explains it. [lol] |
o.o The last one looks delicious.
Here are a few cupcakes. If they turn out right, they take up the whole muffin cup http://www.yourcupofcake.com/wp-cont...-Cupcakes1.jpg http://javacupcake.com/wp-content/up...upcakes-40.jpg http://www.palmbeach.k12.fl.us/Congr...cakes-1637.jpg I would actually love to open up my own bakery because I wouldn't have to go to culinary school for it and it would let me practice on my cake making. |
See, cupcakes are just bigger in every sense than fairy cakes. Cake itself is bigger, topping's are way bigger, decoration is fancier. They're altogether more generous and interesting.
I have a long held belief that the fairy cake vs. the cupcake pretty much epitomes the difference between our two countries, and not in a complimentary way to the British. >< |
Food wise, I believe that you guys have some stuff that is better than ours. Like all of the desserts that you show. Those fairy cakes look very delicious and very pretty. I have an obsession with desserts. I want to open my own bakery.
|
Well in america everything is bigger by default... so how do you tell the difference?
But on the opposite side... our people are also much... bigger... much... rounder... |
You got that right :/ It is all because in America, it is less expensive to grab a burger from a fast food place than buying healthy food. I don't care how much it costs. I will get healthy food. I haven't had much bad stuff since my diet and I feel way better. I miss the bad stuff but I will be glad when I can walk laps around my family. lol
|
A lot of it is because the two country's economies are different. everything costs more here, but the wages aren't any higher, so we're all comparitively poorer, so there's less excess traditionally. With more modern stuff like fast food habits are much the same, but not with things that have been a certain way for generations.
