I read the first 10 chapters of Fifty Shades, with Gilbert Gottfried's voice in my head the whole time. I even read it aloud in his voice at times. That made it hilarious. Very entertaining way to spend an afternoon.

I haven't brought myself to finish the book though. There's maybe a 50/50 chance I'll finish it someday.

Grapefruit Wannabe 10-03-2014 10:30 PM

That thread title. OMG I have to listen to Cloud8745 read this again XD

OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS.

Have you heard Nostalgia Critic read it?
SFW: Well, safe up until 3:20... then you hear "F**K ALREADY" and multiple people yelling "search for c**k" because they're on chapter two, and things don't start to "happen" until about 4-5.

My favorite line: "It sounds like Bane/Batman fanfiction right now!"

jellysundae 10-04-2014 03:56 PM

Gilbert Gottfried's a god xD I wonder how many takes he had to do for that video because he kept laughing [lol]

I never finished the first book either, Bigs. I kept reading the first time for the complete opposite reason for why you generally can't put a book down. [lol] Much of the "no, it can't get any worse, surely...". When my tolerance levels got to (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ I gave up and couldn't bring myself to ever open it again xD it sat under a little table in my living room for 3 weeks, with me glaring at it balefully whenever I saw it, then I took it back to work and gave it back to the girl who'd leant it to me ><

Alexander J Luthor 10-04-2014 06:26 PM

Sounds like she's lucky to have gotten it back at all.

You should have burned it and told her it was a mercy killing. [yes]

jellysundae 10-06-2014 04:30 AM

Hahaha, yes, yes I should xDD

Oh! Bigs, I'm confusing you with Chex. ><

Cardinal Biggles 10-06-2014 04:36 AM

Oh! Yeah, I keep doing that myself.

Chexala 10-06-2014 05:17 AM

It's understandable. We are the bestest bros. Some confusion is bound to happen. :D

Alexander J Luthor 10-06-2014 05:19 AM

Best. Post line. Ever.

Antagonist 10-06-2014 03:42 PM

My brother actually owns that book, though I'm uncertain whether or not he still has it. When he mentioned he bought it around half a year ago I gave him that look of 'WTF Y WUD U BUY DAT THING' and he agreed and said that he was tricked into buying it because he saw that it was a bestseller and thought that a bestseller should be good. [XD]

Alexander J Luthor 10-06-2014 08:20 PM

A best seller is literally just that. Doesn't matter if it's good, or how many people who return it. Just how many are sold. If you counted the copies in the trash there'd be a different story.

jellysundae 10-06-2014 09:18 PM

Best sellers should be renamed.

Really successfully advertised!

Totally suckered the public by the hype!

All given away free with $50 worth of groceries!

[ninja]

I forgot this wasn't Gaia and almost hit the report button when I meant to tip you. XD

[lol]

Antagonist 10-07-2014 04:31 AM

lol! Sounds about right. [lol] My brother believes in those 'bestseller' stuff so he buys them. I know that my tastes are generally quite different from the masses so I never believed those things and just stuck to randomly browsing for stuff that might interest me. [:P]

You are a beautiful ripe pineapple for bringing this video to my attention and I thank you eternally.

[oops] I think that is one of the best compliments I have ever heard

The Wandering Poet 10-07-2014 08:06 AM

Oh gosh I'd never trust the best seller list. Not if 50 shades of gray is on it...

SuperZombiePotatoe 10-07-2014 09:44 AM

I stopped trusting the best seller list when Twilight happened >_>

Alexander J Luthor 10-08-2014 07:36 AM

I have never heard of that book. Do I want to?

jellysundae 10-08-2014 05:33 PM

That line alone makes it sound an interesting prospect xD

Cardinal Biggles 10-08-2014 09:35 PM

Channels last avatar: it's Ursula le Guin, can't be bad.
It also has a Douglas Adams feel I'm digging.
