I mean not only is it a (very) long white cat, it's a snek too!! [lol] Couldn't be more relevant!

Pistachio_Moustache 10-06-2014 03:02 PM

Hahaha!
That's totally her!
xD

Uniplex 10-06-2014 03:04 PM

a snek long cat?
...
I can see it.

Antagonist 10-06-2014 03:38 PM

Omg what the hell is that thing? [rofl]

jellysundae 10-06-2014 03:56 PM

It's an accurate visual representation of the Longcat! [lol]

Art's often more fun when you have no idea of the thought process behind it. ><

Antagonist 10-06-2014 04:10 PM

Haha it's certainly fun alright, I love it! [lol]

Although I have no idea what inspired Picasso to draw those impressionist (is that the correct term in English?) things...I've never understood those.

Maxipuff 10-06-2014 04:10 PM

I love this so much. XD
Hmm, furry snakes, though...

jellysundae 10-06-2014 04:22 PM

Furry snakes would make amazing neck warmers!

I'm not sure what Picasso's art's called, to be honest [:O] Impressionism's the blurry stuff the French went through a period of liking, Monet etc. Picasso's is way more bizarre, isn't it!

Antagonist 10-06-2014 04:42 PM

Oh, right, not impressionist...uh...abstract? [sweat]

I own a couple of furry snakes! [eager]
Well, not an actual snake...but two snake plushies. One is a hand-weaved yarn snake plushie that I had custom-made, and the other was a snake plushie I saw while browsing at an IKEA's one day. [ninja]

~LONGCAT~ 10-06-2014 04:50 PM

LONG SNEK CAT! [eager]
That looks like something I would want framed on my wall. XD

jellysundae 10-06-2014 04:54 PM

You could paint one yourself, Long!

Oh yes, abstract's a very likely option for Picasso, lol. Let's see what Google has to say on the matter...oh! Cubist...fair enough then!

Cardinal Biggles 10-06-2014 11:34 PM

I want it. I want to go to there.

KisaraKitsune 10-06-2014 11:35 PM

why do I find that thing... strangely cute... o.o

Amane 10-06-2014 11:40 PM

Longcat… lurks in the shadows… and waits.

OH MY LONGIE! LOOK AT 'ER!

Cardinal Biggles 10-07-2014 12:01 AM

Art! It looks surrealist to me. Like it has something in common with Leonora Carrington's works. Although I like this color scheme better. Carrington had that very... Spanish sense of color.

Nephila 10-07-2014 01:56 AM

It's kinda creepy. O.O

~LONGCAT~ 10-07-2014 03:07 AM

Used my amazing art skillz to make this. [cool]

The Wandering Poet 10-07-2014 03:59 AM

Oh dear... I just discovered this:

That is a pretty wall quality picture though.

Antagonist 10-07-2014 04:29 AM

...I now want a painting of longcat and tacgnol on my wall. [gonk]

Cherry Who? 10-07-2014 05:42 AM

That picture reminds me of an illustration in a copy of Alice in Wonderland that was one of my favorite books as a kid. It's a big, big leather-bound storybook edition with full-page illustrations. Anyway, there's the bit where Alice's neck stretches out like a snake. I can't find the exact illustration online right now (and my copy seems to be upstairs so I can't just grab it and take a picture), but it was similar enough to this:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...o_her_face.jpg

In that her neck was all curvy and looping around like a weird snake (completely different as artistic style goes, though). As a kid the picture always fascinated me because it was kind of grotesque and freaky, with that surreal quality. This photo brought me back to it. It definitely has a storybook illustration quality to it, and the cat looks a little menacing which definitely calls back that slightly frightened feeling I got from the Alice illustration.

Cubist! Impressionism was a focus on light, such as what Monet did. Cubism wasn't abstraction, either, as cubism still had defining features (you could tell Picasso's paintings were people, they were just weird looking. In abstraction, it wouldn't be recognizable as anything).

Alexander J Luthor 10-07-2014 06:03 AM

Yup. This just gets better with each post. *sits down with popcorn*

sjacklene 10-07-2014 01:14 PM
