Bonds of Fate(Kisara and Vinny 1x1)
What a first day. That was the thought going through Kira's mind as the time ticked away for class to end. She didn't even learn anything, other then King Moron deserved his name every bit. She was chewed out for standing up for herself when he implied she was a whore, and now had to suffer this lecture that had nothing to do with school! She knew she was going to be talked about by the other students. First day here and already on King Moron's shit list. She didn't care, Kira was just glad that the day was almost over at this point.
Would hitting him with her practice sword get her kicked out? No no, she couldn't think that... well, she could but it wasn't proper of her. Kira Narukami, expelled and arrested on the first day for assaulting a teacher. That would look great. She hid the laugh at the thought as best she could as she glanced around the room at the other students. She knew plenty of the boys were staring at her already, and she had a faint idea why. With a sigh, she rested her chin on her hand as she watched King Moron continue to berate the class, glancing at the clock as the seconds ticked away. The moment the bell rang, she relaxed with King Moron leaving the room. The others around her started to get up and chat, as Kira put her stuff back into her bag. |
Riley stretched his arms high above his head when the bell rang. He would never say it out loud, but he hated how Mr. Morooka talked to the students and often day dreamed about what it'd be like if he were to finally tell him off. What if he started a mini revolution in the class? The thought made him chuckle as he glanced over at the new, pink haired, girl in the class room.
"What's so funny?" A quiet voice from behind Riley asked. The brunette boy turned to see his brother, Fiyero, looking up from his comic. "Oh nothing," Riley replied with a smile, "Hey why don't you come say hi to the new girl with me?" "Huh?" Fiyero jumped slightly and glanced over to the girl before closing his comic, "I-I can't. I have to get going to soccer practice." "Oh come on," Riley said, watching the other male quickly stuff his things into his bag, "It'll only take a minute." "I-I dunno..." Fiyero muttered, glancing back at the girl again as he stood up. Riley knew the auburn haired boy wouldn't talk to anyone if he didn't give him a nudge. He took the opportunity and quickly got up, locking his arm with the smaller boys as he dragged him towards the girl. "R-Riley! Wait!" Fiyero said in a panicked tone, nearly dropping his bag when they stopped next to the girls desk. "Hi there!" Riley greeted in a friendly tone, releasing Fiyero and brushing his hair out of his blue and grey eyes, "I'm Riley Daniels, the class rep, and this is my brother Fiyero Daniels." "H-hello," Fiyero muttered quietly with a nod, a faint pink color staining his cheeks. "We figured we'd come say hi and see how you were doing, what with Mr. Morooka's... um, unique personality." Riley said with a smile. 'What's this 'we' stuff?' Fiyero thought to himself, turning his violet eyes to the taller male with a confused expression. |
"Well, I'd like to introduce myself formally then. I am Kira Narukami. Someone like him... I think I can handle him." Kira shook her head, "Well, The whore comment was pretty uncalled for..." Her tone changed after that. "Hey, Know if murder is legal in this town?" Kira asked without batting an eye. It was a joke, and despite how serious she sounded, she hoped they'd either play along, or brush it off. Her posture was very calm and collected and she had a semi-serious look in her eye. She might as well try to play a joke, at least she'd get a laugh today somehow! (This would be flawless if you saw the P4 Abridged and knew the line. XD)
|
Riley laughed as Fiyero gave the girl a shocked look.
"Y-you're joking right?" Fiyero asked nervously as he glanced around. "Of course she is," Riley said with a chuckle, "Though I know several people wouldn't mind helping hide his body and making a cover story. We could always say we were studying or something. Maybe even hide the body all mafia style with concrete blocks and the river." "R-Riley!" Fiyero exclaimed, giving his brother a surprised look that made his eyes look three times their normal size. "Oops, guess I said that out loud." Riley said, looking to the ceiling innocently. Fiyero looked from Riley to Kira in nervous panic before gingerly pointing to the door, "I-I should get going to practice." Before either teen could reply Fiyero dashed to the door, making his break while he felt like he could. "Don't forget your bag this time!" Riley called after him before turning his attention back to the girl, "Anyway, it's nice to meet you Miss Kira. If you want I could show you around the school or show you around the shopping district?" |
"I would like that..." Kira smiled as she stood up and picked up her two bags. "... And thanks for understanding it was a joke. I wouldn't mind hitting him however." She said honestly, sighing. "What is his problem anyways? Does he just hate us for being kids or something?" She could understand not trusting them because of something of things others do but to outright pull the things he did was just strange to her.
|
"Of course!" Riley laughed, "And you wouldn't be the first one to have that thought."
He quickly walked over to his desk and grabbed his bag before returning to the girl. He gave her question some thought for a moment before he shrugged. "I have no idea, maybe he's just a lonely old man?" He glanced around before lowering his voice and leaning closer to her as he whispered, "It can't be easy getting a date when you add that attitude to that face. I mean, his teeth are distracting enough don't you think?" |
Kira tried to hold back the laugh but couldn't. "Looks like he was hit with a shovel in the teeth." Her laughing turned into a minor fit because she could just imagine him getting his with a shovel and turning his appearance like that. She finally got herself under control. "Sorry, That mental image..." She said, giggling. "The only thing we can do, is just ignore him... or he will get hit by someone."
|
Riley laughed, picturing the mental image of a shovel colliding with the teachers face. He shouldn't be laughing as hard as he was, but he couldn't help it. A few students looked over in their direction, giving them curious looks.
"Oh god," He snickered, "You're a funny girl Miss Kira." Riley looked at his watch before nodding to the door, "Come on, I'll show you around the school first. As far as Mr. Morooka goes, a third year once told me it's better to just take it a day at a time with him. Any day he doesn't try to expel you is a win." |
"Good advice." Kira nodded, "And you don't need to call me Miss. Kira works just fine." She slung her Kendo bag over her shoulder and held her book bag as her side as she walked with Riley. "This school is so much smaller then my last. But it's nice, got a charm of it's own." She commented based on what she saw as she game to school. It was going to be nice to get a tour, would help her out so she wouldn't get lost. Even in a small school, it was better to have knowledge of the layout.
|
"Oh, sorry! I guess it's just force of habit." Riley said as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, "I live in a boarding house and Fiyero and I are the only kids, most of the residents are elderly people and a few middle aged people, but we were always raised to call everyone miss and mister."
Riley lead the way into the hallway stepping around a few people here and there, "So this floor is mainly class rooms, but at that end of the hall you can get to the second floor of the practice building. That's where a lot of the clubs and lab rooms are. At the other end of the hall here, there's the calligraphy room, the student council room and the library. Then if you go up stairs it takes you to the roof." Riley continued as he lead the way down to the first floor, "Then to your left here is the faculty room, the counselor's office, and the nurses office. And to the right there's more class rooms, another way to the practice building, and an emergency exit. And that's pretty much the whole school." He chuckled, "I bet this is the shortest tour you've ever had huh? By the way, did you move here from one of the bigger cities?" |
"Yeah. My old school was close to the size of Gekkoukan High." Giving a school that was closest to Inaba seemed like a better route then saying her schools name. "But I'm not saying it's a bad thing. We had a lot of clubs and activities. I was part of the Kendo Team. I was pretty sad to hear there wasn't one." She admitted, fiddling with the strap of her Kendo bag. "But I'm sure I'll find another club to join." Kira gave a smile, showing it wasn't going to bring her down. "Besides that, I can still practice."
|
"Gekkoukan?" Riley gave her a questioning look before realizing which school she had been talking about, "Oh! That school over in Port Island! That is pretty big compared to here." He turned to her with a surprised look when she mentioned the kendo team, "Wow! That's really cool! You know, it may take some time, but I bet if you found enough people interested you could start a kendo club yourself! That'd also be a good way to keep Mr. Morooka off your back, cause at some point he's going to hound you to join one of the clubs."
|
"I love that idea. Maybe I'll go talk to the teachers about it." Kira smiled a bit. "I've practiced Kendo since I was able to hold the practice swords. Desite how demanding it can be sometimes, I actually find it relaxing." Laughing a bit, She really hadn't noticed they made their way to their lockers as they talked, almost as if they do this routine normally. She collected her things from her locker before turning to Riley. Just as she was about to speak, an announcement came in through overhead for all students to remain in the building. Kira heard the others students around them, all of them having almost left the building talking in concerned tones. She couldn't help but join in. "That doesn't sound good."
|
"Oh wow, that's great!" Riley replied, impressed she'd stuck with it for that long. He had never known a girl that was interested in things like that. Then again most girls in his class were more on the girly, get upset when they get dirty, side. It was nice to meet a girl with different tastes for once.
Riley turned his attention to the speaker on the wall and frowned a bit, "No it doesn't. They've never made an announcement like that before. I wonder if there was a bad accident near by?" Maybe there were fatalities in the accident and that's why they were being told to stay here. It made the most sense, no one would want a bunch of high school kids to see that kind of stuff. |
"I hope my Uncle is okay, I'm sure he'll be there." Placing her bags down, she took a look outside. Unsure about what was going on, she brought her thumb up and bit down on the tip of it, her nervous tick from when she worried striking. With her Uncle being a detective, if it was something major, he'd be there. But what could it be that would cause them to lock them inside.
|
"Why would he be there?" Riley asked, looking out the window as well, "Is he an EMT or something?"
Riley couldn't see anything passed the school gates. He wondered when the teachers would let them go, or if they would at least let them know what's going on. "Riley!" Fiyero called as he ran up to the two teens, still wearing his soccer uniform as he carried his regular uniform in his arms, "What's going on? They canceled practice in the middle of it and they won't let us change into our other clothes. They just wanted us all in the main building as fast as we could get in!" Riley frowned as he looked at the panic in his brothers face, "It must be more than an accident if they rushed you all in like that." |
Kira looked between the two, before finally answering Riley's question. "Well... My Uncle would be there because he's a detective. I mean, If it's something major I would assume he'd be on the scene." She shook her head, maybe thinking to far into this.
|
"Oh, okay." Riley nodded, "In that case that makes sense."
"What do we do now though?" Fiyero asked looking from one to the other. "Well, we could always sneak out the back and just say we were gone before the announcement?" Riley suggested as he looked to Kira, "What do you say?" |
The intercom kicked on again, 'All students, We are allowing you to leave the school. Please return to your homes immediately, Thank you."
Kira sighed, "Well that solves that, but... It doesn't sit well with me." This was something new to her, how her old school handed it was a bit more direct and cautioning the students. What confused Kira more then anything, is that they had no idea what path was safe to take. |
"Hey where do you live?" Riley asked as he gave the pink haired girl a concerned look, "We could walk you home."
"That's a good idea," Fiyero added, a faint pink color rising in his cheeks as he turned his attention to the girl, "Y-you shouldn't go home by yourself since we don't know what's going on." Riley smiled as he glanced to his brother, he was glad to see him opening up to a new person. |
"I live at the Dojima residence." Kira gave the address. "I appreciate it you tow." She smiled at them, even if she could defend herself with her Kendo training, she was still happy they were willing to walk her home. One of her biggest fears seemed to be wrong, and that was a good thing. People wanted to interact with her. She had the bad feeling coming here that she would have a hard time interacting with people, remembering how new kids were treated at her old school. Well, a small town is proving her wrong.
|
"Don't worry about it," Riley said with a grin as he grabbed his stuff from his locker.
"Mhm," Fiyero nodded with a shy smile, grabbing his things as well, "We can't let you walk home by yourself when we don't know what's going on out there." "We should go ahead and go now, while they're letting us." Riley added, before asking Kira, "Do you have everything you need?" |
"Let me just double check everything..." Kira moved to go through all her stuff quickly, before picking up her bags, and throwing her Kendo bag over her shoulder again. "Nope, I'm good to go when you two are." She gave a smile, as she walked back over to them. "While we walk, I'd like to pick your brains about this town. Places to hang out, things to do. I've only been in town for two days... if you count today that is."
|
"Great! Let's get going then you can pick away." Riley chuckled as he lead the way out into the cloudy outdoors.
The sky was grey with dark heavy clouds that threatened to rain once again. The humid air was warm against the two boy's skin. Fiyero looked up at the sky and smiled before turning his attention to Kira. "There's really not much to do here compared to bigger cities." He said quietly. "Yea," Riley added, "But we've got Junes now. It's a new store that's got everything! Though a lot of the smaller businesses don't like it cause they can't compete with it. We've actually started losing some stores cause of that." "But we still have some shops in the shopping district," Fiyero said, "And we've got the shrine too." |
"I thought I saw advertising for Junes here." Kira shook her head, "Can't escape them it appears. I've seen what Junes can do with others stores, but I've seen many still thrive even with the competition. Perseverance is a wonderful thing sometimes. Is there must else? Or is that really all there is?" Kira was trying to remember the station right before Yasoinaba. It wasn't that far from here, wasn't it a place with things to do. It was clear the name slipped her and she was trying to remember it. "What's that station before here? The place that has the movie theater?" She asked, remembering something unique about it. It wasn't to far of a distance, that seemed like an interesting place to hang out some Sunday or holiday.
