Pokemon Art Academy (IMAGE HEAVY)
Has anyone picked this title up? It was recently released for the 3DS, and I thought it was adorable, so I got it. It's a game that teaches you how to draw and color, through pokemon! So I figured, why not give it a try?
It starts you off with drawing pokemon portraits from straight ahead in pastels, like this: http://i.imgur.com/9JIo1ds.jpg (Piplup) And then has you tracing outlines of pokemon portraits from straight ahead with an outline pen and coloring it: http://i.imgur.com/memmRF8.jpg (Oshawott) http://i.imgur.com/ppKV4rM.jpg (Chespin) And then it teaches you drawing pokemon heads from an angle: http://i.imgur.com/XVLTNli.jpg (Fennekin) http://i.imgur.com/l3WbkcF.jpg (Meowth) Then, full-body art of pokemon: http://i.imgur.com/H7xG6Mr.jpg (Togepi) http://i.imgur.com/aKuzRgx.jpg (Gengar) And where I am right now, free-hand drawing pokemon using basic shapes: http://i.imgur.com/wz4dwNc.jpg (Inkay, which was an awful first attempt. :P) http://i.imgur.com/OE0nit8.jpg (Charmander, which is a lot better than my horrible Inkay) http://i.imgur.com/Ujqz3TF.jpg (Bulbasaur) I would say that this game is perfect for beginner artists to pick up, and a fun game to play for artists who like pokemon. The game has gotten more difficult with its lessons; it taught how to shade, work with colored pencils, and paint. Images to come when I get home, probably.
