"I'm afraid to touch anything," Felicity murmured as they wandered around. "It's all so expensive."
|
"Seriously," Capri muttered. "But the kitchen is awesome." She wandered into the kitchen, starting to look around. And then she jumped and flailed and didn't quite shriek when Spike whirred to the edge of the counter and said, "Hi!"
|
Felicity did shriek a bit, jumping and skittering back a bit.
"What is that?" she asked. |
"I don't know!" Capri looked at Spike, half terrified and half fascinated.
"That is Spike," Jarvis told them. "Spike, calm down. They're new." Spike made a huffing sound. |
Felicity stared at the little machine.
"What is it?" she asked again, this time slightly less shrill and freaked out. |
"Spike is one of Sir's creations. He is a coffee machine." Jarvis sounded very dry.
Capri blinked and Spike beeped at them. |
"A coffee machine," Felicity repeated. "Right. Okay." She looked at Capri. "What did we agree to?"
|
"I don't know," Capri said, looking now equal parts fascinated and terrified. "What else should we watch out for in the kitchen, Jarvis?"
"Calcifer, the toaster, is usually fine, so long as you don't attempt to toast anything besides bread or pop-tarts. The stove is Peggy, and she can be a little... temperamental." Peggy beeped angrily at Jarvis, who merely sighed. |
Felicity jumped slightly when the stove beeped.
"This is insane," she said faintly. |
"Yeah, no, this is really insane, I have no idea what I just signed up for," Capri said, her eyes still wide. "Think eighteen months is long enough to get used to this?"
|
"No," Felicity said. "No. I don't think it is." Because how did someone just get used to things like that?
|
"That's what I thought." Capri was really, really starting to wonder how in the world she was going to survive the next eighteen months without needing therapy.
|
Felicity just moved away from the counter slowly, heading back towards the kitchen door. She definitely needed to get away from the living appliances for a while.
|
Capri also left the kitchen for now, needing a bit more time to adjust before getting used to that. Because this place was just nuts.
"Okay, so, main living area covered. Where next?" |
"I have no idea," Felicity replied, shaking her head a bit. "Where else are we allowed to go, do you remember?"
|
"Um." Capri blinked.
"Your access has not been limited within the tower, except to personal rooms," Jarvis replied. "Would you like a list of the floors?" |
"We have the run of the place?" Felicity squeaked. That was just mind-boggling. They were allowed to just roam Avengers Tower.
|
"Indeed. Sir though you may be more comfortable that way." Jarvis sounded a little wry at that.
|
"Of course he did," Felicity said. She shook her head. "This is just unreal."
|
"There is tea that Dr. Banner keeps, and you are more than welcome to," Jarvis said. "If you feel that would help."
"Tea helps everything," Capri said fervently. |
"Tea would require going back in the kitchen," Felicity pointed out. "With the appliances."
|
"You have a small kitchen in your suite," Jarvis pointed out. "And tea can be delivered to you on short notice. Or, if you prefer, there are three coffee bars on the lower levels of the building.
|
Felicity just blinked.
"Wow," she said. "That's just crazy." |
"Sir was scaled back by Miss Potts in that endeavor," Jarvis informed them dryly.
|
"Good to know," Felicity said. She made a mental note to try and make friends with Ms. Potts.
