4 is the magic number...
And I can prove it. Pick a number and I can turn it into the magic number, 4. [;)]
|
987,654,321 turn this number into four.
|
Alrighty.
987,654,321 is 77. 77 is 12. 12 is 6. 6 is 3. 3 is 5. 5 is 4. And 4 is the magic number. |
How did that work? Is it spooky math genius?
|
4 is my favorite numberrr +Q+
but it's unlucky in chinese culture lol.. (it also sounds like the word 'death' in chinese ahhaaaha....ha..) |

It was something me and my kids were taught at the mom-son camp we went to earlier this year. I thought it was pretty nifty. Quote:

Liz wants me to work out maths? [gonk]
Just what kind of evil woman are you!! [illgetu] |
Quote:
And after that brutal word search puzzle, this is surprisingly easy. [lol] |
Stop trying to turn this around to make me the evil one! [illgetu]
[lol] |
I'd never do that! [lmao]
|
Yeah right! [lol]
|
So mean, Jelly, so mean. Can't you trust this face? [afrod_harhar]
|
[lol]
|
Yeah... That's not really a trustworthy face. [lol]
So, wanna pick some random number for me to turn into 4. [:P] |
I think I see what you did. Lemme test it...
514 = 19 19 = 8 8 = 5 5 = 4 23,892 = 40 40 = 5 5 = 4 [insane] |

Reminds me of the 9 trick, where any number multiplied by 9 will add back to 9.
9 x 9 = 81 8 + 1 = 9 9 x 13 = 117 1 + 1 + 7 = 9 87,612 x 9 = 788508 7 + 8 + 8 + 5 + 0 + 8 = 36 3 + 6 = 9 |
I love math tricks. xD
Have you heard the one that helps you figure out what [x] times 9 is with the use of your hands? Of course, [x] has to be 10 and lower. http://multiplicationsongs.wikispace...26x225/9x3.jpg |
Hadn't heard of that. ;D
That's a neat trick for kids just learning their multiplications. |
It's the one I taught mine. Or rather, I assume they were paying attention when I told them about it. [lol] And I told them that, to me, the super easy way to know what anything times 10 equals to is by adding a 0 to the end of the number. And with 100, you add two 0's and so on with 1000...
|
Ok. I'd like to see you turn 7 into 4 [afrod_harhar]
Btw is Vedic math tricks, or theory? |
7 is 5.
5 is 4. 4 is the magic number. I had to look up Vedic math. I'd consider it a trick. It's not something I was taught in school. |
1,946,342,883 = 88
88 = 11 11 = 6 6 = 3 3 = 5 5= 4 Maaaaagic Namba FOUR! [insane] |
ok i seriously wanna know how that happens...
|
It's magic! XD
And actually, very easy. [ninja] |
