Nooo! Not the ramen! Once I was boiling a kettle of water for coco and it never whistled so I ended up completely burning up the kettle. Oops!

linapoo 12-09-2014 10:23 PM

i ate it anyway T_T sad experience

goshhh dont you hate when that happens ;q;
i hope it wasn't a nice kettle..!

(also your avatar is looking brillianttt)

Roxxxy 12-09-2014 11:18 PM

I did that too, Zig!
It had been my grandmother's kettle too :c

sjacklene 12-09-2014 11:38 PM

There is no recovery for overcooked soggy ramen... I hope they weren't too bad. I have done that. Not good at all.

One thing I haven't done is burn a kettle... Only because I don't have one... I am sure if I had one, it would happen.

linapoo 12-11-2014 12:28 PM

@sjacklene
the ramen itself wasn't that good 8( it was suppose to be a dry noodle
so ..you can imagine how disappointing it was being all soggy..haha

LOL you sound like me
if i had the thing...it'd also be burned...yes OTL all too familiar

I ruined my ramen by putting microwaved fish leftovers in it. Ugh, everything tasted strongly of fish, like really strong fishy flavor.

SNEK IN LONG'S SIG!

Sometimes I put ham in my ramen like they do in Ponyo. >.>

jellysundae 12-13-2014 03:11 PM

I haven't watched Ponyo yet, it looks super cute though [:O]

I *love* soft ramen! I prefer extra soft ramen, but I know many others who prefer the chewy kind. You can send me your ramen to eat if you don't want it :)

I once put two eggs in a little pot to boil, but forgot about it until I heard a--PUHBANG!
The water had evaporated and the eggs exploded.

jellysundae 12-17-2014 10:24 PM

Potatoes like to do that to me when I'm baking them >.> But I have skewers to poke through the middle of them now, to spoil their games!

Wow! Would love to see a photo if you have one. Exploded eggs O_O

jupiter 12-18-2014 02:59 AM

hahaha
I'm afraid I don't take photographs very often, so that wasn't really an occasion that warranted one. As soon as I heard it, I knew what the mistake was, ahah hah!

@jellysundae
I would never have guessed a potato would do the same thing; I assumed poking holes was just for faster/more even cooking. It's quite a contrast to something that deflates as soon as you take it out of the oven.

zigbigadorlube 12-18-2014 03:13 PM

I had some yummy udon noodle beef soup yesterday with bok choy, bean sprouts, and crispy taro root. It was delicious!

jellysundae 12-20-2014 09:08 PM

Jupiter yeah, it doesn't happen anywhere near as often as they'll explode in the microwave, but they will catch you out occasionally >< Maybe it's spuds with a particularly high water content and the skin just can't cope with the pressure of the steam created.

Overcooked ramen is the worst T^T Do you remember what the brand noodle it was? I've never had dry noodles before O_o

jupiter 12-28-2014 10:18 PM

Potato under pressure.

I just bought some ramen this afternoon, and found some lovely tomatoes to put in it for dinner.
