zeapear 12-27-2014 04:51 AM

Kat Dakuu 12-27-2014 04:52 AM

That we do. Her farts stink up this place often enough.

Linnea 12-27-2014 04:54 AM

it's true, i do fart a lot, but you guys love me anyways!

Kat Dakuu 12-27-2014 04:56 AM

For some odd reason, we do.

zeapear 12-27-2014 04:57 AM

Sure, Linn. Whatever you say. ;) How ya doin, by the way?

Linnea 12-27-2014 04:58 AM

what are you guys up to this evening??

zeapear 12-27-2014 05:01 AM

Haha, that sounds lovely, Linn! And don't worry, we all have our secret shame shows we like to watch... I really like Teen Wolf... [ninja]

I'm not really doing much, just laying in bed and watching our chickens from my bedroom. They're so dumb I love them. <3

Yes! There was a special book signing he did in my state. I made him and Amanda Palmer dragon eyes and he shook my hand and said that, 'they'd look delightfully ominous on a jacket!' I died. Then he drew my grave for me....

Ah! I can't wait to listen. I heard it'll be up on BBC till the 7th of January so I'll have to check it out! [afrod_harhar]

Woody: Ohhhhh my God that is amazing! Hhhhh that's just wow! I love the Graveyard Book so much, and I just-
I'm super glad for you! Treasure that book forever! [lol]

Linnea 12-27-2014 05:08 AM

woody is always pretty lucky in those kind of ways [yes]

what do the chickens do that make them so stupid, zeap?

zeapear 12-27-2014 05:10 AM

Linn: They're just... Chickens... They're so dumb I love them. Like, they just look so silly and they run at you whenever you go outside cause they think you have food and they jump on you and they love getting pats and I just love them so much...

Linnea 12-27-2014 05:13 AM

yea they are kind of spacey aren't they? lol

Dystopia 12-27-2014 05:15 AM

They sound pretty endearing. xD

zeapear 12-27-2014 05:16 AM

Chickens are pretty much my favourite animal since we got ours... I used to be kinda scared of them, but now I am the chillest of the chill. Like, we were at this little farm house place for a scool trip a few weeks ago and we got to feed an emu and everyone else was really nervous but I was just like 'sup you giant chicken loser baby', and then we became bros. That emu was the best thing ever; it was literally a shag carpet with legs and a neck. birds 4 life. B)

I was super lucky to hear about it, for sure! He was just actually at a bookshop I frequent (he lives near it) and I'm sad to say I missed him doing an impromptu book reading for kids there. *sigh*

And I love The Graveyard Book too!

I have chickens!! I agree, they are derpy little derps.

Dystopia 12-27-2014 05:23 AM

:o What are the chickens for?

zeapear 12-27-2014 05:27 AM

Well, our chickens are for both companionship and eggs. :) They're pretty much pets, but they also give us about 5 eggs a day on a good day, though recently we've only been getting around 2 or 3. We have 6 adults all up, and 2 lil babies we've raised since they hatched. They're both 8 weeks old now, and getting big. <3 So yeah, it's really nice to just go sit outside and watch them/cuddle them when you're stressed, and so they're great for us as a high stress family. Practical, too.

Woodlandnymph 12-27-2014 05:33 AM

We get way too many eggs a day. We keep a light on in their coop to trick them into thinking it's not winter. So they lay just as much as they do in summer.

zeapear 12-27-2014 05:35 AM

Ooh, that's clever Woody! How many chickens do you have?

Woodlandnymph 12-27-2014 05:38 AM

Ah, roughly two dozen. We've got an enclosed long chicken run, since we live in the middle of the woods. So, all sorts of critters come because of the chickens...so they'd be in danger if not for that. We've got bears, foxes, owls, hawks, eagles, weasels, coyotes...they all want a treat. Cool for us cause I see a LOT more wildlife with them around. I love seeing the fox in the winter. :3 He's so orange. He'll just bounce about the yard....perch up on this rock and look at the coop, figuring out a sneaky way to get inside it.

zeapear 12-27-2014 05:42 AM

Ah, that sounds really cool! We have to worry about wildlife here, too, though perhaps to a lesser extent. Like, I live in the suburbs and yet we still have to worry about foxes and stray cats and stuff. One of our chickens flew up a tree a while ago, and we thought that she'd escaped and been killed [gonk] luckily though she was just crazy and able to jump quite high.

Kat Dakuu 12-27-2014 06:21 AM

When I lived in Santa fe, the foxes and coyotes killed cats that got left outside during winter. They mostly don't come into dpt own during the summer. I never saw a fox while there.
