I've never had the money. I almost got a Pintaloosa filly for free, with 100$ worth of tack, training things, and medical/supplements feed etc... but we didn't have a trailer, anywhere to keep her, money etc...

We are broke, we don't have the money to even do that.... I don't drive... it stresses me out to even think about it - yet I have family who seems to think that harassing me about it... and telling me I need to learn to drive ... is the way to go. So no, that wouldn't have worked... Sorry, I'm absolutely pissed off at the moment (nothing you did, other things, don't worry), I'm just going to go. Night.

Oh. I live in the city. There's no room for ponies. Or trees. LOL.

Oh real fast, I pretty much did have my own horse, he wasn't actually mine though - he nearly had to be put down MULTIPLE times... and ended up going to another house because he foundered so bad that he could barely walk and my neighbor - his true owner... couldn't afford the thousands of dollars in vet bills...

Its always heartbreaking when people can't afford hospital bills of any kind. :c I'm sorry.

And even if she had been able to afford the thousands of dollars in vet bills - we weren't even guaranteed that any of that would even work - he may have to been put down anyways... :( It was a REALLY rough rough rough time for me. I was darned near catatonic. Not even sure how I made it through classes.
