What happened to Kinsaki?!
Hi all, I just remembered that I had an account on Kinsaki.com. I was a semi-oldbie on the site, but had not posted on the site since 2012 (sounds like a super long hiatus, but I actually forgot the URL for the website until today).
I was shocked to see what happened to the site. I was the only one online, and the forums were overrun by spam and advertisement posts. The whole place seemed abandoned *shudders* I'm browsing the site now to try to figure out how this came to be...but would anyone who knows what happened be able to explain? :( The site is still up and running like always, but there are no recent announcements or anything that explain the situation. Thank you. hummy: llonka: I saw you two on the site, hope you don't mind if I ping you! |
I'm not sure, it was going good for awhile but then all of a sudden people stopped logging on and I think the admin left.

I was not there and I'm still out of the Loopie I couldn't never logged back in and got the OK forgot my password or what happened |
It's been awhile since I've tried to log on...

Apparently there were some bitter disputes between the site staff and the site owner, and basically everyone quit. (This happened over a year ago.) From the way the staff explain it, it sounds like the owner was being disrespectful towards them, and made unreasonable demands when they tried to negotiate a change of ownership.
I don't know anything about the Kinsaki staff or owner, so I have to take this all with some salt, but that is the only available explanation for what happened. |
That's too bad. It was really starting to come around too!

Thank you all for the replies and information. That's a sad story. It all must have happened during my two-and-a-half-year hiatus. Hoping everyone can settle their differences, but if not, I guess it might be for the better at the present moment. The avatars and community on there were nice, though. Glad to see former members here ^_^

I was wondering what happened too. There were a handful of people who were trying to hang on, but even they couldn't cope with all the spam and lack of updates. As far as I can see, Kinsaki is a ghost town littered with spam and advertisements.
