ESO is going F2P
Just announced here!
Elder Scrolls Online will become fee-less on PC/Mac on March 17th and will finally be on PS4 and XB1 on June 9th. You still need to buy the game but with no fee like GW2. All the improvements will be available and DLC will be coming soon. My only concern is there is a "ESO Plus" that has a monthly fee and I'm afraid it may become a "Pay 2 win" thing that no one likes. Your thoughts? |
Buy2Play.
Not really Free2Play. Except maybe in the optional subscription and cosmetics. |

Buy2Play seems to sum it up. I just call them Pay Once MMOs. XD If it goes to no sub, and it doesn't pull a cheap pay2win bull... I may pick it up again.

I find myself in the same boat, Kisa. I participated in the beta (and while that was, by no means, a full representation of what the game ended up being), I found that it didn't do enough to draw me in (certainly not enough to warrant my paying a monthly fee).
Will I pick it up when it goes Free To Play? Perhaps. It certainly makes it a good deal more likely. |
Yeah, I was in the beta as well and I was BORED. It released and I watched some videos, even bought and played for a month... and was so sad that the experience wasn't enriched when it was fully released. It was fun in some parts, PvP was brilliant but I play Elder Scrolls for a good story and RPG elements. For a pay once MMO, I would play it. That's for sure, but if I had to pick between getting back into Guild Wars 2 or This... GW2 will call my name first.

Thank god it's going buy to play. I ended my subscription because I didn't feel like it was worth the experience I was getting.
I'm glad it won't be sub based anymore, but I also don't enjoy the game that much anymore. The fun wore of a long ago. Although, with it becoming buy to play, I might be willing to get back into it for a little while. |
