Jasmine went with him easily, curious and a bit more relaxed now. She did blink when they arrived on the roof.
"What, planning to push me off and make life easier?" she half-joked, glancing at him. "Stevie's a good guy," Bucky said. "He'll talk to you at least. Wouldn't just shut you out. Don't think he could even if he tried, he's too nice." |
Clint snorted and put an arm around here.
"I was more planning on showing you the view," he replied. "I come up here a lot." Victoria bit her lip nervously and didn't reply. |
"It's a nice view," Jasmine agreed. "Pretty sure you can't get a view like this anywhere else unless you're in a helicopter, or can hover. Which, y'know, more likely with this crowd." She waved vaguely at the tower.
Bucky nudged her gently, wanting her to relax again. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to. You don't even have to talk to him, if you want. Whatever you want to do, you can." |
"I come up here all the time," Clint said. "Pick off pigeons sometimes, but mostly just because nobody else is up here."
Victoria leaned against him a bit when he nudged her. "Whatever you think is best," she murmured eventually. He was her Alpha, after all, so in this instance, she would default to whatever he said. |
Jasmine snorted quietly at that. "Sure you want me up here, then?" she asked quietly.
Bucky settled in there, nuzzling her cheek briefly. He didn't go back to his game, but he didn't make any more to get up, either. |
"If I didn't, you wouldn't be up here with me," Clint pointed out. "Do you not like it? Say the word and I'll take you back inside, I promise."
Victoria made a soft sound and cuddled closer to him. The contact was nice, and she didn't want to get up quite yet. |
"I do. It's quiet." Jasmine smiled. "I feel like I can think up here." She leaned a little closer to him.
Bucky made no move either, just resting there with her and assuring himself that for now at least she wasn't going anywhere. |
Clint put his arm around her waist and just held her.
"That's why I like to come up here, most nights," he said. "The city's always lit up real nice." |
Jasmine nodded. "Good view, quiet. A bit nippy for my tastes, but that's what jackets are for," she murmured, shifting a bit closer to him. He was practically radiating warmth, after all.
|
"We'll get you a good windbreaker," Clint promised, holding her closer. He quirked a bit of a grin. "I might have one you can borrow if you want."
|
"I'm alright for now," Jasmine said with a little smile. "Thank you. For showing me."
|
"No problem," Clint said. He grinned. "We can go raid the kitchen later, if you want. Might even be Bruce's turn to cook tonight."
|
Jasmine smiled at that. She'd talked to Bruce a few times, she liked him. "I can help, if he needs it," she offered. "I'm not too bad in a kitchen."
|
"He'll probably appreciate it," Clint replied, grinning. "He always lets people help him in the kitchen. Just watch out for the toaster."
|
"The toaster?" Jasmine blinked, caught off guard by that. "Why, what's wrong with the toaster?"
|
"Just... don't touch the toaster," Clint said. "The toaster is what's wrong with the toaster, just don't interact with it at all." He shook his head. "It's just wrong."
|
Jasmine looked at him a little warily, clearly wondering about his sanity. But she nodded. "Alright," she agreed easily enough.
|
"You'll thank me later," Clint said. He nudged her. "Come on, we may as well head inside before Phil comes looking for us." Which, knowing Phil, could go either way, but Clint got the feeling that Phil was going to keep a closer eye on him for a while.
|
Jasmine tensed, just a little, at the reminder of Phil, but she nodded and headed for the door again. She wasn't going to be able to look at the Beta, not after yelling at him like that.
|
Clint noticed her tense up, and nuzzled her a little.
"It's okay," he said. "Nobody's upset with you at all. I promise." |
Jasmine relaxed again at that, shifting so he had better access in case he wanted to nuzzle her again. She found she liked the attention.
"If you say so," she murmured. |
"Trust me, I know Phil," Clint said, still holding her close and resting his chin on her shoulder. "He's not angry at you. And I know I'm not mad at you. Everything's fine for now."
|
"For now?" Jasmine murmured, leaning back into him. She tipped her head back to rest against his shoulder, quite content there with how he was holding her.
|
"Until we figure out how things are going to be from now on," Clint explained. "We're gonna have to talk about it, the three of us, but not right now. Just settle in and relax for a while first."
|
Jasmine hummed her agreement, settling in against him contentedly. She didn't want to move anytime soon.
