Hi everyone!
I've been looking to join another forum site for some time now, since the role play forum in the one I used to use seems to be dying out slowly but surely [:(] From that little bit of information, I guess you can already tell that I really like forum RPs. It's been a while since I've been in one, but I'm itching to get back to them. Right now, I spend most of my days at work and then at the gym, but I have some time here and there as well as a lot of free time on the weekends. Hmm...some random stuff about me. I love cats, I have one right now. My collection of video games is pretty big, but I don't seem to really play them that much. My favorite pastime as of late is reading books. I'm really excited to be joining [:D] |

I like to think my favorite color is lime green, but I've always had a love for purple. I guess it is my favorite, too =P What's yours? =D |
I'm not hummy, but I've always had a love for purples, greens, blues and teals--though there really are few colours I can't stand. (Bright orange and certain shades of pink if not used in moderation, I guess, but even then as accent/detail they can be quite nice)
I see you're currently naked. Must be getting a bit chilly, so...tell you what, if you go and take a look through the stores (Top bar -> shops, if you don't know where to find them) and select a few items that total up to 250g or less, I'll buy them for you. =) |

Silenia, I agree with you about some oranges and pinks. I do think that orange, pink, and red, looks really good together though...sort of like a sunset theme! Also, thank you! I was actually attempting to navigate the shops and remedy that situation haha, it's a bit different than I'm used to >.<;; There are so many things! I think my favorite thing to do on any site is dress up avatars~ |
Yeah, they look well together if done tastefully. Especially if the right shades are picked. Bubblegum pink with hot pink, bright orange and pink-ish red on the other hand...not so much. XD
It's all about moderation and balancing things out, I guess. Similarly, on a dark-coloured avatar, even bright-in-your-face shades of pink or orange can be done quite tastefully. I see you've got your hands on some gold and an item already--nice! (Hummy's work? =P) My offer to buy you a few items still stands, though. =) Let me know when you've found the items you'd like. (Or, if you don't want to browse through all those shops, ask me if certain kinds of items exist in the shops and I'll let you know. XD) |
Definitely agree, I quite like the whole black with a bright color accent kind of look, done right ^.^
Yes! Hummy and Cloud were kind enough to gift/trade me this dress and belt. I tried my hand at finding some shoes, to see how well I could navigate haha. Hmmm, it looks like I'm going to be going for a sort of purple and green look....maybe there is a hat/hair piece that would go well. Would you have any suggestions? =D |

Not too many single items that combine both colours--the few that do have slightly off shades or add other colours to the mix-- but there are some nice mixes that could work. Made a quick mock-up for you of one such mix. Just imagine it's your own hair, because it's a bit of effort to get the right hair to show up on the DAC. (Dream Avatar Creator, which is available to users that have donated at least once) http://i59.tinypic.com/2ilc6jk.png Colours the other way around would also be possible, if you'd prefer that, and there are several other options that would work well too--this just was the first combination that came to mind without adding too much clutter or off-shades. I think a switch of the colors would work nicely, I'm afraid the purple hairband might blend in too much with my hair? I feel like I'll end up donating...I have a weakness for doing that, heh. |
Okay. For the switch-around, would you like the headband to match with the "average" shade of your dress (that'd be the Basic Dragon Headband) or the darker parts (would be Emerald, I think?)

If you want your hair to match, by the way, I'd suggest going for a slightly lighter shade. Maybe #79568f without highlights or #945cb7/#e1cee9 main-highlight combination.

Oh wow, thanks! That makes a difference. I never liked using those color wheel/squares (not sure the term for it), but I realized I don't have an art type program on this computer, so I couldn't use a dropper and see what the codes for the colors were Dx

Even MS Paint can get the colour codes, though, if you have that one. Mind, I didn't actually drop, just on sight, but then, I am familiar enough with those shades to guess pretty closely on first attempt and then it's just some minor tweaking. XD You're welcome! If you intend to build out this outfit further, I think some socks or stockings, gloves and/or a handheld? Maybe a necklace, too. =) |

It's still not a 100% match. It hangs slightly in between the highlights and the darks of your purples as far as the darkness goes and the shade of your hair tends ever-so-slightly more to blue than the lavender pallet, but it's a very close approximation and too identical would just mean your hairpin would blend away completely.
Well, you can't get them directly from paint but paint does give you all the info you need to convert it to the HTML code with its RBG-info, so it's still possible. Nothing wrong with that. XD I just collect whole lots of items so usually when I go and make a new avatar I don't have to buy all that much. Useful to have a large stack of items to build from. And you're lucky, because there's a Valentine event coming up soon, which includes both "rares" (Event Items) and newly released commons which for the duration of the event are sold for 50% of their normal price. When it comes to the event commons, I'd suggest buying whatever you can afford and feel you might possibly use sometime, because should you ever decide you don't want them after all... ...well, 50% is also the sell-back worth, so you won't have made any loss at all. |
That is a good point that if it matched perfectly it would blend in. Do you like to do art? It seems like you would be really good at it =D
It is nice to have a large stack to pick from when making an outfit, then you don't have to worry too much about acquiring new items in order to have something that looks complete. My inventory on my previous site is pretty filled...I even attempted to put it in rainbow order. It looks pretty cool, but then I'm not so sure it helps the functionality of it haha Ooh, I can't wait for the event! I wish I was here for a Halloween event, those kinds of things are usually my favorite, since I love Halloween =D |

Yes, I do draw art. I currently have an art freebie thread open in Art Shops, even if I'm right now being a lazy-ass instead of finishing the two art pieces that are in progress. XD
I recently returned to Menewsha after a long absence, so I wasn't there for the most recent Halloween event either. (Hope you don't mind that I'm posting this from my mule? Currently doing a bit of account-hopping, so...) |
