Funner doesn't sound right. :c

I like crayons. I love the smell of them.

Menelaus 01-08-2016 11:44 PM

perhaps, but its easier than saying "much more fun." I'm not sure if its the actual crayons that I miss, they're crude and rudimental to draw with, but the time of life when crayon drawing could easily be top of your day's agenda. or maybe I just miss being footloose and fancy free. these days its all bills and more bills, whatever happened to the days of being content rolling down a grassy hill, or feeding sugar granules to ants?

Inzanebraned 01-09-2016 07:16 PM

Maybe its the fact that I never have quite enough money to pay all my bills...and the resignation that I probably never WILL have enough money....that allows me to be childishly spontaneous...for I would still roll down a grassy hill...if there were a GRASSY hill to roll down nearby!
Hills near me are covered in pine needles and branches and sticks....and rocks! ....NOT a fun-rolling experience! Lol!

....and I love to color with crayons!
When we were homeless and living in a tiny motorhome, I spent a lot of time coloring pictures with crayons. It kept the boredom at bay!
However, I am not terribly fond of the smell of crayons...
Hope enjoys the smell of crayons and play doh, though! ....she opens these items and takes a long smell and says "That smells gooood!" Lol!

(A quick thought on chicken nuggets and chicken fries...
There are recipes, findable by Google, for home made chicken nuggets.
I prefer to use whole pieces of breast meat....but some recipes tell ya to grind up the chicken and add fillers...and I thought that sounded disgusting!...but that process would present one with a finished product quite like what the fast food places offer...and MUCH more healthy!)

Its snowing at my house....in case anybody wanted to know! Lol!
It wasn't supposed to snow today....and I planned for it to NOT snow....
(That's probably why its snowing! I PLANNED!! Lmao!)

I hope everybody is having a great day!! [hug]!

also, I was pleasantly surprised to find the word 'funner' has been added to the world's dictionaries

Probably by whoever has all the crayons....smelts fishy to me.

Ava The Vampire 01-10-2016 03:58 AM

It's in the negatives here today.
Super cold, but it feels good to be outside.

I took Beans out the other day to play in the snow. When the snow was powdery she loved it and dug around in it for a few minutes, then the last time I took her outside the snow was a couple of days old and was crunchy and she hated it and wanted to come inside right away. I guess it was also pretty cold for her too. :c

Silly bunny!

Anyway.
I had the most delicious vegetarian chili yesterday. It was so good. D:
I love chili during the winter months.

Menelaus 01-11-2016 10:16 AM

lol, that's the biggest downfall with snow (avalanches not withstanding of course), the crunchy day after when the powder freezes over. can't be fun for snowmen either

Ava The Vampire 01-12-2016 04:13 PM

OMG.

I'm legal today you guys! I mean, legal to drink and buy alcohol.
Not that I'd want to, but I'm legal to do so if I wanted to!

Menstrual cups..
Yesterday is the first time I've heard about them. I saw some when I was browsing a shopping website, but didn't look into it that much because I really didn't know what it was. Then I popped in here and saw it on the first page.

Do they work well? Or has anyone in here used them before?

Menelaus 01-12-2016 06:34 PM

Happy Earthday, Ava

Nope to working well or using one? XD

Ava The Vampire 01-12-2016 07:24 PM

I love my menstrual cup.
I use the DivaCup and I love it. He only thing is, if you buy in a store it's really expensive. I paid $40 US Dollars for money!
It works really well, but it can be tricky to get the hang of using at first.

Menelaus 01-12-2016 08:12 PM

a friend of mine swears by the menstrual sponge as a cheaper alternative to natural tampons

Ava The Vampire 01-12-2016 08:54 PM

I heard great things about the sea sponge.
I admit, they are very green, (as in good for the earth) but I don't think they look that comfortable. :/

But I'm glad they work!

Velvet 01-12-2016 09:06 PM

Huh, that's certainly interesting. I am considering trying one out. I'd love not having to use tampons or pads, and I did read that they can be hard to use at first. [sweat] I imagine so though.. Would be awkward just trying to figure it out. [lol]

Menelaus 01-12-2016 09:09 PM

very very green indeed. sponges can be rinsed and re-used, and once they reach the end of their useful life, they can be composted, thus leaving a very minimal environmental footprint. they've been used for centuries, so its a tried and true method, but the downfall of them is they're prone to some leakage on heavy flows, apparently

Happy Birthday, Ava!

Oh and I found this one here:

Inzanebraned 01-13-2016 12:46 AM

I find this a very unusual topic to be discussing on Ava's birthday! Lol!

Happy Birthday, Ava!

I have reached the age of not needing any of those products...but I had considered trying the cups, back when I needed feminine hygiene products....but I felt that it may be messy!
I stayed with tampons up till the end.

I wonder about the sponges...
I seem to have a sensitivity to the well water where I live...prolonged exposure will make my skin itch something fierce!
I sure wouldn't want that reaction....down THERE!!

But...those days are over, for me! Yay!

So, Ava! ...did you do anything special for your birthday?
You are also, now, of legal age to enter a casino!
Do they allow gambling in your state?
Well...Congratulations on becoming what the government considers "an adult!" Lol!

I hope everybody is well and having a good week, so far!

Velvet 01-13-2016 01:36 AM

Fish puns? [rofl]

salvete 01-13-2016 01:39 AM

Haha, I see the fish puns have arrived here as well!

Thanks Inzane!
I didn't do anything special for my birthday. I just went out to lunch with my mom, but on Saturday we're going to the mall and we'll spend the whole day there! :)

Yep, we have some really cool casinos on the reservations here! So gambling is allowed in our state. c:

I've been thinking of getting something to drink, as I can now legally buy alcohol! 8D

salvete 01-13-2016 09:13 PM

Ahh belated happy birthday to you!

Inzanebraned 01-13-2016 11:45 PM

Hey, Ava!
Ya shoulda ordered wine with lunch!...even if ya had to give it to somebody else! Lol!
...just the act of legally ordering an alcoholic beverage may have been somewhat empowering!

I didn't do anything special on my 21st birthday because I was pregnant and taking a medication that I was warned not to even take a sip of alcohol with.
By birthday is 4-20...so I have made up for not celebrating my 21st on several birthdays since! Lol!

Ava, you should Google "Vampire inspired adult beverages" and go to a bar and order a Vampire Drink!
(My only concern would be if you are taking any meds that alcohol will affect...make sure ya know before partaking!)

A day at mall sounds fun! ....it has been YEARS since I was inside a mall!
I hope ya have, like, the BEST TIME EVER!!
