Evy was just about to open her mouth and speak further when she gasped, Loki pulling her into him. She looked up at him, feeling breathless and confined to the little space between them. She tried to ignore the familiar yet odd sensation of his body pressed to hers, the warmth radiating from his hand on her hip, and her jaw tightened. She would not blush.

While she managed not to blush, the new change in territory from the travel had left her light-headed and dizzy. She wobbled slightly in his arm, as he slowly let her go. She closed her eyes for a moment, focusing on not vomiting all over him, as she soon felt perfectly fine again. Too soon after she had just eaten. Her eyes opened back up again and she looked up at Loki just as he had fully let her go. She took a step back and put a hand on her hip where his hand had once been.

She was just about to speak again when the force of his hand on her arm had cut her off completely. She scowled at him a bit childishly. When she did that to her friends, they'd just laugh and giggle at her. And that was the point -- to lighten up the mood. But she knew well enough Loki was a serious man.

The darkness of the alleyway and the cold air had left her shivering without the jacket she had left back in that underground room. She looked around, noticing the familiar surroundings. Her apartment building was just nearby. She listened to him closely as she looked around, trying to ignore the stares of the people walking by.

"Go ahead and use your magic," she hissed at him rather irritably. All she wanted right now was a hot shower, her blow dryer, and fresh, clean clothes. "Then once I'm at my apartment you can take it away because I have plenty of clothes there." Her eyes landed on him and she froze. Whoa.

I will not blush, I will not blush... Her cheeks heated up, betraying her. Shit.

Ava The Vampire 04-14-2015 01:20 AM

Loki didn't need to be told twice. He allowed his energy to drain as he changed Evy's clothes with his sorcery, hiding her disheveled SHIELD uniform and replacing it with casual business attire. Loki didn't quite know what the average human woman wore in New York. Business attire was what he'd usually see SHIELD agents wearing when they were out of uniform.

As he started using his magic to change her appearance, Loki noticed Evy's face light up a bright red color. Curious, Loki teased her,

"My, my, Agent Haron." He chuckled. "Who would have guessed that you were so eager to get out of those clothes?" Once he was sure her appearance was... almost acceptable he began to make his way out of the alleyway, walking slowly, hoping that Evy would soon lead the way, as he was not too familiar with the buildings in this area. His eyes darted around, trying to see if he could spot a SHIELD spy sneaking around Evy's apartment. He couldn't see any, but that didn't mean there weren't any wandering around. He walked calmly, not looking too suspicious.

As he walked he threw his arm around Evy's shoulders and began to smile, then he used his telepathy to tell Evy something important:

"Start a conversation with me."

Junabelle 04-14-2015 04:49 PM

Evy wasn't one for business attire. She didn't like skirts or girly blouses, anything that might make some man gawk at her (as they usually did when she had to dress up for a business meeting at SHIELD when she wasn't on a case or fucking around in the lab). She stared down at the black pencil skirt, cheeks redder than before as Loki's voice nearly vibrated through her with an unnecessary intensity. He shouldn't have given her such a tease like that, but he was Loki after all. One couldn't argue with that.

She wore simple heels, noting their comfort as she began walking out of the alley way and turning a right with Loki at her side. She sucked in a breath when he threw an arm around her, almost as if it were casual, and she sighed. She hadn't expected him to be able to use telepathy. Or be able to use it at all. It made her wonder what other things Loki could do with his powers. Could he bring someone back from death? Erase time? Go through in time? Could he freeze water or levitate objects? She had already noted what she had seen in her mind. He could teleport, copy himself, heal when he chooses to, and he could manipulate something someone was seeing.

"Why am I still alive?" she decided to start the conversation with. "I mean, what use am I to you? For all I know, I'm just some silly little mortal to you. What fun is there in that to a god like you?" she asked more out of curiosity than just simply needed a conversation to be started.

She walked with him a few more blocks, her apartment building just straight up ahead. She cocked her head in the direction of it to tell him that that was where she lived.

Ava The Vampire 04-14-2015 10:42 PM

Evy's blushing made Loki somewhat giddy with victory. Though, of course, he wouldn't show her that. No, instead he just continued to smile and walk as though he and Evy were close friends, lovers, perhaps, just walking home from a long day of being apart. He retained his smile even as Evy asked the obvious question: Why. Why?

"What's this, Agent Haron?" He smiled, "No interrogation? No elaborate scheme of words and tricks to get me to spill my secrets to you?" He pulled her in a little closer, whispering in her ear, "There'd be no fun in telling you why I keep you alive. It's better to keep you guessing." And better you not know when you're going to die... He almost said, but his mind couldn't come to an agreement with his tongue on that.

He followed her lead as they walked to her apartment. He waited until they were inside of the building before letting their illusions dissipate into the air and reveal their actual clothing. Loki glanced over Evy up and down once again, making sure his illusion was completely gone. Evy certainly looked more attractive in the business attire, but who wouldn't look better in business clothes than in a dirty, ripped uniform?

"Lead the way, Agent Haron." Loki said, almost sarcastically. In reality, he just wanted to get to the apartment, get the food, let Evy cleanse herself, and get out. He needed the power over Evy and in her own home he was a little worried he couldn't have too much control over her there.

Junabelle 04-14-2015 11:47 PM

A shiver came over Evy when he had leaned into her to whisper to her his response to her questions. She huffed a frustrated sigh. She did that a lot, sighing, but it was the only way to keep herself under control. For all she cared, she could have lashed out at him easily or cry out to the pedestrians around them for help. But she was a smart woman who understood consequences. Most of the time, anyway.

At the sight of her apartment, she felt a wave of relaxation come over her as she stepped through the threshold. The left over scent of her apple candle she had burnt this morning after her shower, the slight disarray of her breakfast. Everything was as it should be. She felt her clothes change and she looked down at herself, smiling a bit.

It was a stupid thing, to let Loki in her own home. It was a sacred place to her. But what choice did she have? She needed a shower desperately, she needed more food, and she needed new clothes.

"I can give you a tour, or I could cook for you, but since this is my apartment, I call first dibs on the shower," she told him boldly. Walking away from him and over to her kitchen.

Once they had stepped in through the doorway, there was a section of the living room, which you had to step down into. And over to the right was the kitchen. It was small, but it was all Evy needed to be happy with living alone. And up ahead was a small hallway leading to three doors. First left one was the bathroom. And then the door after that was the linen closet. Then at the very end of the hallways was the bedroom, which was open to reveal her made-bed and her night gown she had lazily thrown onto the foot of the bed.

She opened her fridge, peering into it as she looked at what she had. "I could cook you chicken? I was going to make it for supper tonight anyways," she started as she moved over to the cupboards sitting on top of her sink and counter space. "Mac n cheese, I have almost every canned vegetable you can think of..." she mumbled off, moving her dirty skillet to the sink to wash the old egg off of. "I can even make you my mom's homemade dinner rolls," she soon added, remembering she had all the ingredients.

For a second, she had once again forgotten who she was with, feeling as if she was back into her natural every day lifestyle who was simply offering to cook for a guest. But she had to remind herself that Loki was no guest. No, never. She froze a bit, gripping the edge of her sink as she stared at the soapy water she had just put the skillet into to soak before she turned around and looked at Loki with an unhappy face. It wasn't anger, but just simple unhappiness, waiting for his answer.

Ava The Vampire 04-15-2015 01:46 AM

Wrinkling his nose at the mention of canned vegetables, Loki turned away from Evy to have a look around her apartment. It was... Quaint. He could see the appeal in it for a mortal woman. It was, however, as Loki had expected. Too small! Too small for him, too small for any Asgardian.

It was amusing for Loki when he noticed how comfortable Evy seemed to be in her own home. She almost seemed to forget who he was, and honestly it offended Loki a little. He wasn't a friend coming over to visit her. He didn't eat Midgardian food and he didn't need any Midgardian woman cooking for him. He wasn't hungry anyway. The smell was nauseating too.

"It would be in your best interest to hurry." He said, avoiding her question. "I'd suggest you take whatever is convenient." He trusted that she didn't need another warning. Loki did not plan on staying here too long and as soon as she gathered her food, washed herself, and changed clothing, they would be out of there and on to the next destination.

He started walking around a little, carefully eyeing her sink and he began to look for any silverware that might be lying around, lonely and unused. Silverware made for great projectiles, he'd discovered that on Asgard as a child. It was always in his interest to keep some form of weapon on hand. Evy was getting too comfortable. He'd need something to threaten her with to remind her of her place, to get her to fear him once more.

Loki wasn't expecting that he'd have to shower in her apartment as well. It wouldn't hurt, but he really couldn't afford to waste the time it took showering. On Asgard baths were popular, but not frequent. He was too proud to admit that he's never taken a "shower" before. Frankly, he didn't want to start any time soon either.

Junabelle 04-16-2015 11:11 PM

Evy ignored him and sighed, throwing her chicken into the microwave to heat up as she stalked into her bedroom to grab her duffel bag to fill with clothes. She managed to stuff an old book in it, something to keep her calm should she have the time to use it for such a thing. And when she heard the timer go off, she hurried back into the kitchen, setting her duffle bag onto the kitchen island's stool that was closest to the microwave as she pulled the plate of chicken out and sat it down on the island, pulling a fork out from a drawer and digging into the food. She'd have herself a full meal some other time, but for now, this big plate of chicken was just enough for her.

She said nothing else to him, just stood there eating her food, staring down at it unhappily, focusing on scarfing it down. Loki was right, she did have to hurry, and she could tell by the way his words and stance were, that he wasn't too happy with her offers of treating him to some mortal traditions of treating their guest. After all, he was a god. Shouldn't he like the attention?

She looked up at him when she was almost down with her food, watching him look around the place as if searching for something. Not sure what, she waved it off and huffed through her nostrils, taking a swig from a water bottle she had cooling in her fridge. She knew he wanted her to be afraid of him. But why, in anywhere in all the universe, would anyone want to be feared by someone who had almost painstakingly offered up a form of friendship? Though she would never want to befriend him. In a way, it gave her a sense that he was somehow...lonely.

Ignoring her thoughts further, she put her dirty plate into the sink and walked a bit of a ways over towards Loki, a hand on her hip. "I'm going to go shower. Don't worry, I don't take long. But after I dress we can leave," she told him. Her voice came out a bit shakily, feeling nervous around him. A part of her expected him to jump out at her when she least expected it, that he'd tare her throat out or kill her some other painful way.

She grabbed a fresh sea foam green towel with a matching washcloth from the linen closet and hurried into the bathroom, closing and bolting the door behind her. If she was going to get naked and need some peace and quiet to herself as she bathed herself, she would want to do it in privacy. Slowly, she stripped from her clothing, letting the dirty rags pool around her feet on the tiled floors. And for a minute, she allowed herself to stand before the mirror that sat above the single sink, eyeing the bags under her eyes and the bruises that shrouded her skin from being flayed around and pulled into Loki so painfully. It had been her struggles earlier on that day that had surely done it, she knew.

She turned on the water, waiting for it to heat up to almost scolding before she stepped it. A moan escaped her mouth at the sensation of the hot water hitting her sore back. She wet her hair instantly, grabbing her strawberry shortcake shampoo and dousing her hair in it until it was clean. She finished off with her expensive argon oil conditioner and then scrubbed herself with her wash cloth covered in a raspberry scented lather. Ten minutes after she had got in, she was out, wrapping herself in her towel as she dried off her legs and feet so she could walk out of the bathroom without trailing any water behind her. She hurried into her bedroom, praying Loki didn't see her as she shut her door behind her and let her towel hit the bedroom floor, eyeing the outfit she had laid out for herself. Black tank top, her old cargo pants, a comfortable black cargo jacket, and her comfortable combat ankle boots she hardly ever wore outside of her job.

When Evy came out of her bedroom, she was holding her first aid kit she had forgotten in her room that one night she had gotten burned from her tea kettle. She forgot to put it back in the bathroom, but it didn't matter. She sat it down on the island, glancing at Loki briefly as she unwrapped her wound and laid out a clean bandage with fresh ointment on it. The kit was too big to fit into her duffel bag, so she took care of her wound right then and there. Her hair was still damp, but combed through thoroughly and beginning to curl up on itself softly.

Ava The Vampire 04-17-2015 02:46 AM

Loki paced once the meat came out of the microwave and Evy began to hurriedly scarf it down. The meat looked quite similar to that of the pheasants that were often eaten on Asgard during feasts. The thought of Asgard made Loki's blood boil. He hated Asgard and everyone on the damned realm. Most of all, he hated Thor and Odin. It was because of them that he was even in this predicament.

It no longer mattered now. He was stranded on Midgard as traveling to another realm would require a ton of energy that Loki did not have. Loki was almost certain that a feat that magnificent would be impossible anyway. He'd have no choice but to accept his life on Midgard if SHIELD did not come through with his scepter. He found himself half listening as Evy finished eating and quickly mentioned she was going to "take a shower". Humans were certainly strange, indeed! Where was she taking the shower? Certainly, it would not fit in her bag she was planning to bring.

Loki furrowed his brow for a minute, thinking of asking her why she felt the need to take the shower with her, but she was gone before his mind caught up with his tongue. Oh well. This just gave him a better opportunity to explore her home. He sauntered down the hallway, glancing at the walls, testing the floor for squeakiness. The sounds of running water was familiar to him as he passed the bathroom door. He knew better than to open it, even though he was very curious to see what the "shower" was and figure out how she was going to take it with her.

He walked passed the door and glanced into her bedroom. It was nothing special, his own chambers on Asgard looked more appealing to him. When the running water stopped, Loki moved away from her bedroom and wandered back towards the kitchen, making his way to the living room. The living room was more interesting than he'd expected. A TV, as he'd seen previously on his first trip to earth, an interesting type of furniture. It looked soft and comfy, it had pillows as well! It couldn't have been a bed, it looked nothing like the one he'd seen in Evy's bedroom.

His thoughts came to an abrupt halt when he heard the bathroom door open and a wave of perfumey smells smacked him in the face. Strawberry, raspberry, another strange, fresh scent. He turned his head and began to walk back into the kitchen and to the hallway, as he rounded the corner he saw the tail end of a towel for a split second before the bedroom door was slammed shut.

He could see the steam escaping the bathroom from the open door and he wrinkled his nose at the powerful, perfumey smells. Women and their scents...

When Evy emerged from her bedroom, Loki had to admit, she did look much better, though she still looked nothing like she had when he'd first met her upon his arrival in Earth. The bruises that were scattered across her arms from where he'd grabbed her earlier were an ugly shade. Still. He didn't feel sorry for her. If she hadn't resisted, she wouldn't have been hurt so badly. Consequences were no joke. He did, however, feel a very, very light twang of regret when he saw the wound on her hand. It looked a little better than it did before and Loki knew he shouldn't have injured her so, she did nothing to deserve it.

Evy was certainly brave, Loki had to give her that. But, despite feeling a little bad for hurting her, he did have fun. He was used to people not liking him without reason. Well, the way he saw it, if people were not going to like him, he should at least give them a reason. He'd given Evy her reason.

"Are you ready?" Loki asked. "We're going to travel by foot. I have already wasted too much energy teleporting place to place." It wasn't a lie, Loki needed to regain the energy he'd lost what from teleporting everywhere, from healing Evy's wounded hand, changing their appearances. Not to mention he'd already lost so much energy from being violently throw to Midgard and traveling the Bifrost. If Odin still cared enough about Loki to watch him from Asgard, he bet Odin would be so happy to know that Loki had no choice now but to lay low and stay out of trouble. The old geezer...

Loki reached for Evy's arm and he meant to pull her away and drag her out of the apartment. The longer they stayed here the more danger they'd be in, not to mention, it would probably be harder on Evy to leave her home after spending a few precious moments in her own space. Nonetheless, Loki needed to get out of there NOW.

Junabelle 04-19-2015 03:43 AM

At Loki's voice, Evy had closed the first aide kit shut, getting to her feet as she placed it over by the toaster over. Evy slid into her jacket and put her bag onto her shoulder, nodding her head as she tucked her hair behind her ears, thinking to the hair ties wrapped around the handle of her flat brush she had stuffed away in her bag. She'd worry about putting her hair up later, but right now...

Evy immediately reeled away from Loki as soon as she saw his hand outstretch towards her, looking as if it were ready to grab her roughly. She curled her elbow and twisted her arm out of reach from him, her eyes glaring towards him with boldness disguising her fear. Her arms were already sore from all the dragging around he had done to her. And she most certainly wasn't ready to feel the bite of the bruises again. She had been through enough pain in one day. And after so many months ago, she wasn't ready to feel all that at once. Ever.

"Look, I'm ready, okay?" she asked as she took a step back from him and relaxed her arm at her side before she readjusted the bag on her shoulder. With all the stuff she had carried away in it, the straps bit into her skin along with her bra straps. "Just...no more grabbing for now. You've covered me in enough bruises," she grumbled towards him rather angrily. "Lead the way. And I know that if I were to try and escape, you'd find me in an instant." She really did know. She could just imagine him, catching her sneaking off and away from him -- as if she'd be that stupid.

She'd wait for SHIELD to come and rescue her. She just had to be patient. And although she was without any tracking devices on her, she knew SHIELD to be smart enough to try and look out for her, should they ever get the idea to check her home. She hadn't any bread crumbs to scatter behind her for SHIELD to follow, but she prayed to any god out there, who most certainly wasn't Loki, that SHIELD would find her and she'd be safe and sound -- far away from Loki.

Evy walked towards her front door and unlocked it, opening it up as she motioned for Loki to lead on.

Ava The Vampire 04-19-2015 11:05 PM

When Evy steered away from Loki's reach, he simply dropped his arm and drew back. He had to admit, he was being rough with her. She was a.... Well, intelligently smart woman. She could move herself, he didn't need to baby her. Loki tried his best to retain his stern, stoic persona, but it was wearing out rather quickly now. To be honest, he was tired. He'd used to much energy, physical and mental energy was spent, grabbing Evy, teleporting with her, hating Odin, cursing Asgard...

He used the last little bit of energy he had to change his appearance as they were going to leave the apartment once again. He began to walk to the door Evy had opened and he left the apartment, not even stopping to wait for Evy to catch up. He understood and had confidence now that Evy knew better than to escape or fall behind. He would keep a close eye on her, of course, always, but he wasn't going to baby her any longer.

After Loki had left the apartment and walked back outside into the busy streets of New York, Loki turned around and glared at Evy.

"Hand over the bag, Agent Haron." He snapped. He trusted that Evy didn't pack any weapons or pack a secret tracking device for SHIELD to find her, but he wanted to be the one in charge of her food, in charge of her life from this point on. She'd only eat when he said she could, she'd only change clothes when he saw it fit. He didn't want to give her too much freedom, for that would compromise the agreement they had. Food for information.

If she refused he wouldn't hesitate to force her to give it to him. However, Loki was tired and he didn't want it to have to come to that. It had been a rather long, disappointing, and very energetic day for Loki. He really wanted to find a place away from SHIELD's prying eyes and recharge. While he was doing that, it would be the perfect chance for him to gather more information about Evy. Providing, she'd still give it to him.

Junabelle 04-19-2015 11:43 PM

By now it was late outside. All signs of the sun had vanished a clear black sheen of night sky. It had been a long day for Evy and she was honestly exhausted. She'd give anything to go back into her apartment and to curl up in bed and sleep for the remainder of her existence. She pouted at the thought of her bed, how comfortable, happy, safe she'd feel.

Even froze up when Loki demanded for her to hand her bag over. God or not, it was her personal belongings. But she was too exhausted, too tired to even fight him as she handed the bag over to him with a glare.

"Remember one thing, Loki," she started as she crossed her arms across her chest after zipping her jacket up to protect her from the wet night air, "Earth is not your home. You're breathing our air, bossing us around when you have absolute no right to begin with. That bag? Is mine. No powers of yours could ever change that." Her voice was small, showing him how tired but calm she was though right now, she could feel the numbness setting in that Loki was providing her with.

It had to be her that took this mission. It had to be her who ended up being expendable to SHIELD. She tightened her arms around herself and couldn't muster up the energy to cry.

Ava The Vampire 04-20-2015 12:52 AM

Loki took Evy's bag and originally planned to dig through it just to embarrass her, but he decided against it. Though, the temptation was strong, he loved to tease Evy, he chose not to do that to her. It was late, the day was almost over and he didn't want to upset her anymore and make her back out of their bargain.

He could have snapped back at her, say something like, You have no belongings anymore. But he didn't want to be bothered with arguing. He was a little annoyed with her telling him he was a stranger to Earth. He knew that. He was a stranger everywhere. No one wanted him on their realm. Not Jotunheim, not Asgard, and now, not even Midgard, these worthless, pathetic humans who were less than the dirt on his boots, did not even want him on their realm.

He could tell, she sounded as though she were going to cry. He didn't really care what she did anymore. He wouldn't make her feel bad for crying, after all, it was natural. Even he had cried at some points in his life. It was a natural reaction.

Loki turned away from Evy and began to walk. He didn't turn around to see if Evy was following or not, he just trusted that she was. This realm was so vast. The night air was chilly, but nothing that a Jotun couldn't handle. Evy, however, was probably very cold. Oh well. Maybe later, he'd find something to keep her warm. He couldn't have her dying any time soon...

As he walked the silence was welcoming, yet uncomfortable. There weren't too many people out on the streets late at night like this. He sighed.

"What was your position in SHIELD?" He asked. He had a point to the question, it was not to create "small talk".

Junabelle 04-20-2015 06:31 PM

Evy remained quiet as she walked behind him, trailing behind him and hoping that he had a good idea where they were going to hide out and prayed to anyone up there, maybe his father Odin, that it was a place at least somewhat better than the place they had been hiding out for hours earlier. She stared at her bag in Loki's hands, expecting him to trifle through her clothes, books, bras and panties, but she didn't care. She wasn't carrying the heavy thing, at least. If he were to look for something she'd use as a weapon against him, she'd be pleased to see the disappointed look on his handsome face.

She had to stop herself right there. Handsome? Well, all gods were handsome, no? So she pushed aside the alert she felt in her gut at the first thought of it and buried her hands in her coat pockets where her torso's warmth had been trapped. She had been in colder weather, with a few missions in the past going to the Alps and to the Arctic. She was just thankful she had chosen this jacket to wear on their walk.

"I'm not sure, to be honest," Evy replied to him not longer after he had asked her. No doubt he was trying to destroy the silence hanging between them, and no doubt he was just digging for more information about her.

"As soon as I was adopted, I was put into training to be an Agent. I took gymnastics, learned perfect coordination with a gun, and spent about ten years in a special school for young agents in training. After that, SHIELD had taken an interest in my affinity for Methodology. So when Stark's not available to help figure out some problems with our weaponry and whatnot, I got called in to do my best. And when I wasn't doing that, they were putting my on risky missions while they gave Barton and Romanoff the easy ones. They never allowed me near the Avengers initiative, though. Because I didn't have any special powers like them, no doubt." She saw her breath ghost before her and she cursed the very idea of Spring. Make up your mind with what temperature you want it to be, she scowled in her mind.

"What else do you want to know?" she soon offered up. She was liking the talking a lot more than the silence at the moment, and with her little will left for the day, her exhaustion, and her tiredness, it was something that helped her keep moving. She was now walking just a foot behind and beside Loki, keeping up with him but allowing him to be one step ahead of her.

Ava The Vampire 04-21-2015 12:05 AM

Methodology. Loki figured that could prove to be quite useful. So, she did know about SHIELD's weaponry. He was almost certain he knew the answer to his next question, his lips parted and he formed the words on his tongue, yet nothing came out. No... it was too soon to ask, besides, this was not the place. He changed his question.

"Is there anything I should know?" He asked in a low voice, yet, hopefully not too low that Evy couldn't hear him. He maneuvered the bag to hold in front of his chest so Evy couldn't see it as well. Had he not been so drained, he'd use his magic to make the bad 'disappear' into air so he wouldn't be burdened with carrying it. It wasn't heavy, it was actually very light, but it was annoying to have his arms full.

As he kept walking he came into a familiar setting. The corner of his lips curled into a little smile at the thought of being somewhere familiar again. New York was a strange place, very different from Asgard. Up ahead, a couple of blocks, there was a gorgeous, abandoned building just a few blocks from Manhattan's city hall. He'd passed it during his travels on Midgard previously and was absolutely taken by it's beauty. It wasn't like those other big, shiny, ugly buildings that made up most of New York City. No, this one was a gem. Old, Loki wasn't too familiar with how time was kept on Earth, but according to history of Midgard he'd learned in books on Asgard as a child, perhaps this building was built maybe... seven decades ago? A lovely building, indeed! Such a shame it was no longer bustling with people, no longer as bright or well kept as it once was... Structurally it was a poor building, bound to cave in on itself one of these days. It was probably condemned now, but Loki didn't really care.

That was where he'd take Evy. She was familiar with being a field agent, certainly she'd have no qualms with sleeping in a possibly condemned building. Just for the night. The building really was beautiful... Iron details, built of steel, unlike those 'modern' Midgardian buildings. He snorted, focusing on walking towards the building and keeping Evy in check. It would be the best place for him to lay low, while at the same time regaining his strength and energy.

Loki picked up his pace a little bit, certain that Evy would be able to keep up. Truthfully, he wanted to get out of the streets. Normally, he'd have no issues with being in the spotlight, in fact, he welcomed the attention. But now, while he was so weak, he just wanted to hide away until he could get dolled up and return with all of his previous bravado. The Earth would be his soon enough. If Asgard didn't want him, and Jotunheim didn't want him and none of the Nine Realms wanted him, well, he'd force them to accept him. He would be a failure no longer...

But he'd wait until tomorrow before continuing his place to take over Midgard. For now, the only thing on his mind was rest.

Junabelle 04-21-2015 02:30 AM

Evy tilted her lips in a slanted line, thinking. "Well, I don't know you well enough to know what you should know about me," she pointed out rather sarcastically. "I could tell you my likes, dislikes, favorite memories, worst memories, my strengths and weaknesses," she pondered aloud with a dull chuckle that seemed almost sinister. "But then again, I'd honestly be much happier dying than to tell you any of that," she told him.

At the thought of "worst memories", the memories of a few months ago's incident hit her like a brick wall. It always felt that way when she had let her inner walls down far enough for it to effect her as thus. Her breath came quicker as she tried to regain control of her emotions, but she used Loki's quickening steps as an excuse for her heavy breathing.

She focused on the building they were heading towards, an old abandoned building that, if Evy remembered correctly, had once been an opera house in the early 1900s. While it had been abandoned, it still looked as beautiful as if it were still in working condition. She tightened her arms around herself and focused on her breathing and the beautiful detailing of the building to try and move her mind away from such a memory.

She hoped that with Loki, nothing would have to happen that would trigger her inner emotions set aside from the memory.

"So this is where we'll be staying?" she asked him, pointing towards the building as they came closer to the steps that led up to the section of swinging doors and regular doors. The street lamps gave the glass enough glow to show years of dust built up and in the inside, a faint sight at a destroyed lobby.

Ignoring Evy's words, Loki just responded to her last question with a quick,

"Yes."

He sauntered towards the old Opera House and slipped through a half attached, half broken entrance door that was partially hanging from its hinges. The door was probably ruined during his attack in New York, for Loki didn't recall the building being in this bad of shape before his "army" had come. It saddened Loki that no one seemed to look out for this place after the attack.

Inside the building was rather dusty, well, obviously, it hadn't been used for quite some time. Just as Loki remembered it, this building was breathtaking. The light from the moon seeped in through the rounded windows and the moonlight bounced from wall to wall, lighting up the opera house lobby with a pale, soft light. Just enough that one could see the entire inside of the opera house without intense scrutiny.

Loki dropped Evy's bag in the ground beside his feet, then he dropped to the floor as well to sit beside it. He looked at Evy, "Get comfortable, Agent Haron." He said. He pulled her bag into his lap. "Is there anything you need from your bag?" He hated how tired he sounded, as though he'd give in to anything Evy wanted at the moment simply because he was too tired to be bothered with pushing her buttons or threatening her.

He opened her bag, prepared to pull out whatever it was she might need. He thought about handing her the bag and letting her get her own items. It'd be a lot easier for the both of them, but Loki wanted to hold on to the control he had over Evy, even though it appeared to be slipping by the second. He let out a short, quiet sigh. For now, he'd let his control over her slip, then, come morning, he'd make her understand her place once again.

Evy was hesitant when she stepped into the abandoned building. It was dank and dusty, dirt of the forgotten surfaces everywhere around her. And as she walked around nearby Loki, running her hand over the back of a wooden bench with beautiful hand carved designs in it, she'd try and sleep here. If she had learned one thing with sleeping in unknown and odd areas during her SHIELD missions, it was to try and sleep off of the ground should any rats or anything else come and bother her with risks of injury.

"Can I please have my blanket?" Evy asked him softly as she tried removing excess dust from the bench with her hands, causing dust to stir and make her cough a bit. She had a soft fleece blanket rolled up neatly to one of the sides in the bag, right along side her handful of under garments and tee shirts. She never could sleep without a blanket. It was a security to her no matter the given situation. It had always been that way ever since she could remember.

She plopped down on the bench, huffing a short sigh. It felt like she hadn't gotten the chance to sit down in forever and she was grateful for it, regardless of the dust and the building. Her eyes looked to Loki and she could see his exhaustion. And for a single second, she pitied him, but it soon passed when she got up to her feet and walked over to plop down on the floor across from Loki.

"Can I ask you something?" she asked softly as she waited for her blanket, watching him with eyes that were beginning to burn with long exhaustion.

Loki lazily dug through Evy's bag, feeling around for a blanket. Once he could feel the touch of something soft under his fingertips he pulled it out and threw it to her. He then closed the bag and pushed it behind him, away from Evy.

Loki craned his neck to look in Evy's direction as she asked her question. He smirked with what little energy he had left. He did not plan this through at all. He hated being so vulnerable in front of this mortal girl. He wasn't like Thor, had Odin not banished him to Midgard, he'd not let anyone see him vulnerable. The old fool definitely knew how to humiliate Loki.

"You may ask," He said, "But I am not obliged to anwser."

Loki turned his gaze away from Evy and focused on a random spot on the wall, far across the abandoned lobby.

Evy caught the rolled up blanket swiftly, resting it in her legs that she crossed like a pretzel. She fumbled for the ribbon tied around it, pulling it apart and discarding it as she twisted her body away from Loki for one moment and shook out the blanket. She formed her lips into a thin line and sighed, hoping that the words she was about to say, wouldn't come out the wrong way. That would be the least of her worries.

"You said you want to take over this world?" Evy asked him as she folded the blanket in half and rested it on the bench near them. She folded her hands together. "It's just...you seem highly unwanted. And if you're here because of your father..." she started as she looked up at him, watching him warily. "If you want to be liked, Loki, you have to act likable. Simple as that."

She stopped herself there. Why was she trying to give him advice like that? She was being held hostage by him, expendable as she had always felt since she had been born and cast off from her parent's death. She shook her head and got up, but shakily. Her legs hadn't wanted her to get up just yet.

"Nevermind. You do whatever. I'm just along for the ride as I always am anymore," she murmured, half hoping he heard her and half hoping he didn't. She curled up in the corner of the bench and wrapped the blanket around herself sighing as she closed her eyes and put her hood up, resting her head against the back of the bench.

She didn't expect Loki to say or do anything. In the few hours she had been around him, she was just expecting her words to go ignored.

Loki only continued to stare at that spot in the wall off in the distance, pretending to ignore Evy. Truth was, he heard what she had said and he was actually quite surprised that she'd try to help him. He wasn't sure if she was very brave or very stupid. He, who had kidnapped her, taken her hostage, injured her hand and caused her all sorts of bodily harm, was being helped by the very woman he had hurt.

Evy was full of surprises, there was no doubt about that. He watched Evy in his peripheral vision and when he was certain her eyes were closed, he turned his gaze to stare at her. She looked so different when she was asleep. She looked different a few moments ago when she was offering him advice. When she was not glaring at him with hatred in her eyes, she was actually very attractive.

Loki snorted at the thought. He knew better than to get too attached to her. She was only alive to serve a purpose. She was only leverage for getting what he wanted from SHIELD, nothing more. But, her presence was welcoming. He'd never had anyone around to talk to besides Thor, at least, no one around that actually talked to him, rather than fish for information, or try to humiliate him, or otherwise make him feel inferior or useless.

He didn't like the stirrings of emotions that spun through his body as he stared at Evy. No, this would not be acceptable. He needed to get back to threatening her as soon as the sun came up tomorrow. This would not do at all. She needed to remember her place... And he, his. Loki stared for a few moments more before allowing his eyes to also fall and shut. He scooted backwards to lean his back against the wall he was sitting in front of and allowed himself to succumb to the darkness of sleep, all the while making a promise with himself that he would not allow himself to have feelings for Evy. She was only a tool, that was all... Or, so he hoped.

Evy wasn't sure when she fell asleep, surprised she had even been able to sleep period. But her body was exhausted from yesterday's events and so her mind. At some point in the middle of the night or early in the morning, Evy had fallen down to the main part of the bench from being propped up in the corner. She curled up into a ball as it had always been the most comfortable position for her to sleep in such a foreign atmosphere. And when the morning sun burned through the broken windows and glared off of the random broken glass laying around the windows on the torn carpeted floors, Evy was awake. Wide-awake even.

She slowly sat up and cringed at the ache in her body from the rough sleeping surface and awkward sleeping positions, blinking her eyes a bit and recognizing the ache in her bladder as she wiped the corner of the mouth she had just drooled from with the back of her hand. Her blanket slid off of her and hit the dirty floor, the warm morning causing her to immediately unzip her jacket and shrug out of it. She put a hand to her hair, fumbling around with it to where she had mentally been able to make it look suitable after years of practice without the need of a silly mirror. But after feeling iffy that morning, she pulled the hair tie she had on her wrist and twisted her hair up securely and out of her face, regardless of a few strands of her wavy hair that fell into her face, but out of her eyes luckily.

Her head turned around and searched for Loki.

"I have to pee," she blurted out in a hoarse, sleepy voice before she looked to him, not caring if she woke him up or startled him or whatever.

Ava The Vampire 04-23-2015 03:49 PM

The sounds of movement, however faint, slowly pulled Loki out of his sleep which was actually quite peaceful. His eyes fluttered open and he was welcomed with the sight of Evy looking at him. He didn't hear what she said at first, his ears were still muted from having just woken up. He gave her a nasty glare as her words started to register in his mind...

"You have to pee..." He repeated, chuckling a little. "I'm sure you can find a spot to relieve yourself here. This building is abandoned, anyway." He leaned forward to pull his legs from underneath himself and slowly rise to his feet. "Do not be alarmed, Haron, I will give you privacy."

He could have threatened her, warned her, perhaps of what fate would await her should she decide to run off. He had confidence by now that she wouldn't run away. She seemed smart, running away would be an incredibly stupid thing to do. He turned away from her, feeling the surge of renewed energy within him.

He gave Evy a look for a moment before walking passed her and brushing against her shoulder, walking away into the center of the lobby with his back turned to her. He was giving her "privacy".

Junabelle 04-23-2015 05:48 PM

Evy's body followed his direction, thinking before she looked around the empty lobby. She hesitated from taking her eyes off of him when she felt him brush past her, her breath catching in her throat at the simple warmth she felt radiating from him. How could such a gold man have any warmth at all, she wondered. Eventually, she turned around and looked around the lobby. Yes, she had dug her own bathroom into the ground one too many times, but she prefer to be civil. She eyed the worn woman's restroom sign. In the lobby, the back walls that parted in the middle to the stairs that led up to the auditorium, adorned two different bathrooms on each side. Left was women's, right was men's.

Evy pointed to the bathroom. "There. And while I'm there, do you mind if I take a few things from my bag to freshen up? I'm sure you wouldn't like to smell my morning breath all day," she told him with a slight smirk as she put a hand on her hip and cocked her head towards her bag.

She was sure the bathroom would at least be in the condition of a port-o-poty. Available for her to relieve herself, but no plumbing, no doubt. At least she had stored some water bottles in her bag that would give her the water needed for brushing her teeth, and the hand sanitizer in her little wallet in the bag to help her feel somewhat clean.

Either way, she needed some privacy that wasn't just a turned back, but an enclosed space. Her eyes hesitated a bit too long when she managed to set them back onto him. She could see the remnants of sleep in his entire body and she tilted her head to the side, trying to push aside the second-long though that maybe there was more to him than how he chooses to act.

Ava The Vampire 04-24-2015 03:40 AM

Loki didn't turn around to look at her as he spoke,

"Take what you need from the bag..." He paused to suck in a short breath, "But do not touch the food. This is your only warning." He didn't realize just how irritable he sounded. Well, he was pretty upset. It was already his second day of being stuck on Midgard and now he was on the run from SHIELD with an awfully pretty young agent... Thor would probably appreciate a situation like this, but as Odin has made clear over and over again, Loki was not Thor.

He hoped she understood that he wouldn't go spying on her while she was occupied with relieving herself and 'freshening up'. Frankly, Loki didn't care what she did. As long as she did what he told her to do and as long as she offered him the information he sought. Eventually, he'd try to squeeze more information from her, learn what she knew of his scepter, what she knew of SHIELD's secrets. Not to mention, he'd love to find out the little details about her, things he could use against her.

He sighed. "You should hurry, Agent Haron." He peered over his shoulder a little to look at her, "There is still so much we need to discuss." He smirked, then turned his head so that the back of his face was facing her. He slowly dropped to the ground and sat, allowing himself use his magic to telepathically search for a familiar face on Asgard. There were many things Odin could take away from him, as he's currently proven, but his magic was something Odin could never take and Loki needed to see this person one last time before accepting his abandonment on this forsaken realm.

Evy walked to her bag, obeying him as she ignored her wrapped muffins, chips, granola bars, and apples. Her stomach was starting to wake finally, creaking when she took in a deep breath as she felt the emptiness. She fished her toiletry bag out containing her tooth brush, tooth paste, brush, makeup, deodorant, perfume, etc. She hooked it under her arm and grabbed one of the large water bottles stashed under her jeans. She got up after zipping the bag shut and said nothing to Loki as she disappeared into the woman's bathroom.

It was a dark and musty room with nothing but a few broken wall patching letting in the sun light and a few tiny broken windows up near the roof. Even if she thought about escaping, her hips and bust would never make it through. There sat a row of four bathroom stalls. The first two were broken and covered in cob webs, the others empty but usable. And after relieving herself, she hurried to stand at one of the sinks, the mirrors cracked and smudgy, but she was able to see her reflection.

She thought of what she'd say to Loki, and what she could say to Loki later on that day. He said they had much to discuss, but what more of her could she tell him? What could she know that he'd want to know? She applied her chapstick to her lips after she brushed her teeth thoroughly, using half of the water bottle. And after she let down her hair, brushed it, and let it free after it was smooth and tamed, she applied mascara and eyeliner. Not because she wanted to look pretty for Loki.

Definitely not, Evy thought with a snicker, shaking her head at herself in the mirror.

She applied makeup out of habit. By now it had become a comfort to her. If she were to die soon by the hand of Loki, at least she'd look fabulous. The thoughts made her giggle, shaking her head as she applied light rose perfume and packed her stuff back into the toiletry back and looked back up at her reflection. She looked half-decent. Regardless of the fear that had become skin deep for the time being, her hair was glossy and perfect, her hazel eyes aware and softened by the eyeliner.

"Alright. Let's begin because I'd sure like some breakfast," Evy grumbled when she came out of the bathroom and walked over to her bag without looking at Loki. She unzipped it and put the toiletry bag back in, soon grabbing the jacket she had taken off and folded it neatly into the bag.
