My immediate family is somewhat Wiccan. I say "somewhat" because my brother has been reading into it for quite some time but I don't think he's an active in practicing. My dad is a dabbler. He won't admit his beliefs because he's afraid of retribution from other family. I have a cousin in Maryland that's an openly practicing Pagan/Wiccan and then there's me. :) I'm a member of a "study circle" in my area and we get together for Sabbats. I'm hoping we can start meeting for Esbats but we all live over an hour away from each other :( Mississippi does not have enough resources for non-Christians!

I wish I knew another language so I can write my book of shadows in it! lol.

I don't think I'll ever join a coven. I like the freedom of a circle. The current members and I are the founding members, so it's nice to have such potential for our area. There's waaaay more pagans and wiccans out there in this state than we think. It's just a matter of filtering out the kooks and the dabblers who aren't serious or use it as a "status" thing or something they flaunt because it makes them "different."

Some people around here will claim such just because of the shock factor. Which is so contrary to the wiccan rede. Makes me mad.

I love the religion and I use to play the perfect Christian girl to make my family happy but now I'm happy to be who I really am with the support of my family. To be honest I pratice the healing art. I feel a pull to help other anyway in my power to make my loved ones happy. Plus I hate western medicine. Well my sisters even offer to help if I cant and they are stronger then me and love them for it. To be honest my coven is a family base wiccan since we are family wiccan patrician. But you are right about the fake out there in the world.

I was raised as such but I always felt like there was more out there. I always felt I was different.
I have the same pull but I think mine is more emotional healing. I'm highly empathetic and sometimes it can weigh me down. I spent most of my Freshman year in high school completely depressed. It was after Hurricane Katrina and it devastated our area. My school had an influx of new students from badly hit parts. I was able to pick up on their sadness and grief without realizing that's why I was so sad all the time.

I focus on herbal and crystal healing to me it is the most simple natural way to heal in my eyes. My gifts which can some time be a curse is seeing auras and just seeming to know what others need at the time being before they even realize what they need. My middle sister Kat can astral project herself. And my sister Ash can see what we usually can see. But we were each giving our gift to help other at is unique to us as a person to fulfil our purpose on life. And empath is a hard gift to be blessed with but the gift is an amazing gift. My best friends Santos and Kayla are both powerful empaths and I wonder how they can handle it so well and live with it. But as they both say it let them know when to ready the kitchen and away from the kitchen. Or when I need them to be my rock od strength to get through the day. I have also seen the gift destroy other because it can also be the greatest gift and I'm happy you have the strength to live with your gift.

I've seen auras before but I don't do so often. Sometimes I'll see a blue or green or yellow "light" surrounding others. Especially if they are standing against a plain background. I can especially see the aura if they are feeling particularly strong. I remember in 4th grade seeing a violet aura around my English teacher. She was teaching us pig-latin so I think she was very passionate about her job [rofl]
