When Radiance didn't say anything, Jesse thought that perhaps he had upset or confused her, but when she did speak, he was surprised to hear what she said.
It was surprising but it was very nice to hear someone say nice things about him. It was obvious to him that she truly cared about him and that made him happy, at least someone did. When she had finished speaking, Jesse blushed at the kiss and smiled. "W-well you are my girl friend. You're the only one, aside from Nancy, but she's my boss so I don't think that counts. Besides, you're special." Jesse explained and nodded. "I promise Radiant, I'll always be right here beside you no matter what happens. If I'm not, you know you could always call me and I'll be at your side right away." he answered and chuckled softly. Her comment on his smile only made him smile happily in response. "Thank-you. I'll be sure to smile more around you Radiant, besides, you give me a reason to smile." he commented and looked down at her hand in his. He hadn't realized just how soft her had was, probably because he never focused on such things. He preferred to focus on her face instead. "Play happier songs..." he repeated in a soft whisper. "I'll try my best Radiant, for you I'll try." he replied and nervously gave her a kiss on the cheek as well before quickly looking away and leading her out of there and down to the living room where his sister and her husband were waiting. Faida looked over at Lex and smiled, glad to see that he was okay. "You are correct." she agreed and stepped closer to him to get a better look at him. "I am glad that you are okay, I was worried that you would get hurt." she commented softly and wondered what Radiance and Jesse were up to when Lex mentioned them. She was sure that they were having a good time though, those two always enjoyed spending time together, it was nice to see Radiant so happy all the time. "I would like that, and I am sure Radiance would be happy to have guests over at our house for dinner!" Faida answered excitedly. She wondered briefly why Mr. Wright was out in the middle of nowhere, and who had brought him there. Hopefully she and Lex would uncover the clues once they filled out their reports. She was sure clues would arise soon enough, they always did. Looking at Lex, she wondered if he was as bothered as he was, but he seemed to be un phased by the event. "Let's go." she said softly and unlocked the door, sitting at the wheel and buckling up. |
Radiance followed Jesse her free hand on her cheek where he had kissed her. She felt happy and surprised. She blushed softly as she thought about what he had said and the kiss he had given her on her cheek. She smiled softly as she gently laced her fingers with his as they walked. She now understood many of the stories she had heard from the people in the shrine and the nurses. This was something worth fighting for. This was something worth protecting. She didn't understand how protecting it could be wrong. She kept quiet as she saw the others waiting on them. "Thank you once again for a lovely evening." She said trying to act normal. She bowed her head slightly out of respect and looked to Jesse as she smiled softly. " Sadly it's time for us to be heading out. " She said knowing they should get home. "It was lovely meeting you. I hope to see you again." She said as she smiled warmly.
Lex nodded as he hoped into the car. He was quiet as he found himself deep in thought. It wasn't normal for him to be so quiet but he had a lot on his mind. He spent most of the day filling out his reports. He got up once he was done with his report and headed to the Sheriffs office as he pulled out the file on Mr. Wright. He was about to enter when all of a sudden he was pulled into the office by a large hand the door slammed shut behind him. "AH!!!!!" He screamed from being startled as he found himself face to face with the Sheriff. "I-uh......Sir." Was all Lex managed to get out before the man snatched the report from his hand and looked it over. Finally the man let him go and hung his head seeing to be upset by the report. "Mr. Wright's family called to say thank you. He is fine and in good health." The sheriff said as he sighed and looked up to Lex. "His family doesn't know how he ended up where you found him. Mr.Wright has never left the safety of his home before. They are revealed he is safe. The hospital said he had marks on his arms from here he was dragged. His feet had some damage from the dragging. So that brings me up to the next point. We need to keep a eye out for any suspicious people. And teens sadly this sounds more like a tee prank." The Sheriff said as he narrowed his eyes at Lex. "By the way you've been really hanging around Faida and Radiance lately. What are your intentions with my girls? I don't take kindly to men hanging around my girls. They are like my own daughters. You better treat my daughter right and that goes for your little friend who works at the dinner. You two better be nothing but gentlemen with my girls or I promise no one will ever find your bodies." The Sheriff said meaning it as he glared at Lex. Lex backed away and found himself against the door with no where to go. He smiled as he tried to feel for the door knob without taking his eyes of the Sheriff. The man was scarier than anything he had seen in a long time. He almost wanted to be in a gun fight and out numbered with only a knife. "Uh.....intentions SiR?" He said as he gulped and tried to quickly find the Knob to get out of the room with the man. " I-have no intentions I promise." He said as he jumped seeing the Sheriff seem to grow mad. "AH AHAHAHA You should look at you face right now son." The man said as he started to laugh it was deep and sounded like thunder rolling almost. " Though really keep my girls safe. And your doing a good job. Your tuck is ready so you can pick it up. Also thanks for the Pizza. And the boys and I decorated Faida's house and bought her a cake and some presents for passing. " Could you please keep it a secret from her and drive her home safely tonight? I kinda need the car. Rick lost his to a bad transmission. Also left her a book of different Automobiles for her to choose from for her new transport here. We will pay for it of course. Oh and why don't you ask the girl out already? Me and the guys are tired of you two just sitting around. Take her on a proper date." He said as he laughed and turned heading to his desk to take a seat. Lex let out a breath as he nodded and found the knob as he quickly open the door and fell out. He hurried to his desk as he calmed down before walking over to Faida. " Faida I'm sorry but it looks like Rick needs the keys to the car. Sheriff said we can go and that he'll make it up to you." Lex said hoping that she didn't see the sweat pouring off him from the scare the old man had given him. He really wasn't sure to hate or love the old man. " Besides my truck is ready. Also apparently the hospital called the Sheriff already. Mr.Wright is doing fine and will make a full recovery. His family is very thankful." He said as he tried to smile for her. |
His sister grinned and looked at Jesse, then at Radiance, then back at Jesse and smirked. "Well, Well...you two seem fairly happy. What happened up in that room?" she asked. Jesse blushed brightly but decided to play along. "That's for your imagination to figure out Sarah. We really must be going, I have to get home to check up on the house before dropping Radiant back at her place." Jesse explained and smiled. "This was very fun though I'll admit, we should do this again sometime." he said. Sarah nodded and looked at them, Yes we should. Little Ellie enjoyed seeing her uncle and his girlfriend." she commented. "Well we enjoyed seeing little Ellie too. I'll keep in touch Sarah when I have time." Jesse said and they all said their goodbyes before he led Radiant out of the house and to his car where he opened the door for her.
Faida noticed how quiet Lex was and wanted to say something but decided against it. When they arrived at the station, she followed him inside and started working on filling out the reports required. It was really quiet in the station and she wondered if everything was okay. Finishing up the reports, Faida got up and grabbed herself a cup and filled it with water. "I wonder what's wrong with Lex...I'll have to ask him." she said to herself. Looking up, she smiled when she saw Lex, "Oh really? Okay." she said simply and handed over the keys to the car. "There you go." she said and raised an eyebrow. "Lex are you alright? You seem off today. You haven't really said a word on the way here and you were very quiet up until now that you are actually speaking to me. I'm very concerned." Faida explained and frowned. "Are you upset?" she asked curiously. |
Radiance blushed as she climbed into the car. She buckled her seat bet as she waited for Kai. She had many thoughts running through her head. She couldn't help but smile as she thought about the day. She enjoyed herself for the most part and hoped everyone enjoyed themselves as much as she had. She knew that Kia would wish to talk with her.
Lex smiled as he took the keys. " I'm fine. Let me go give these to Rick and then we'll head to your house." He said as he turned heading to the man's desk. He placed the keys on the mans desk and turned as he headed back to Faida. "If you like we can go. We need to go get my truck before I can take us to your house. The garage isn't far from here if you don't mind a slight walk." He said hoping she didn't mind. |
Jesse got into the car and buckled up before starting the car and checking the mirrors. Carefully, backed out onto the street and started driving back to his house. Glancing at Radiant, he noticed her blush and smiled slightly. "I hope you had a good time Radiant. I apologize for my sister's eager behavior. I know she asked a lot of questions, she always does that. It's annoying." he explained as he focused on the road ahead of him. He remembered when he had started driving, he drove way to fast. It was a miracle that he had never killed himself or anyone else really.
Faida frowned at his response but nodded and watched him leave. When he returned, Faida smiled slightly. "We need to pick up your bike as well Lex." Faida reminded. She was glad to be walking though, it was nice to walk around from time to time but she did miss flying. "I do not mind walking Lex, it's okay." she assured. |
Radiance smiled as she looked to Kia. " I thought your sister was very nice. Thank you for letting me come with you. You know she just cares about you. We may not always get to choose our family but we have the choice to love them. I believe your sister loves you she just doesn't know how to show you Kia. Just like you can't always express yourself to others. " Radiance said as she smiled softly at him. " I'm sure that Faida and Lex will be happy to see us. You know I'm sure they will wish to meet your sister too."
Lex smiled as he heard her and nodded. "Well lets get going." He said as he lead the way. The shop was about a block or two from the police station. Lex walked in silence till they got to the shop. He lead the way inside and was greeted by the owner who gave him back his keys. Lex lead the way to his new truck. "Well here is my new truck so what do you think? " Lex asked as he walked around looking at his new truck. |
Listening to her, Jesse couldn't help but laugh a happy laugh. "Well I wanted her to meet you, and I think she approves so that's good. Even if she didn't I wouldn't care because I approve." Jesse explained as he continued driving. "Yeah, I suppose you're right Radiant. No matter how upset they make me, I never truly hate my family. You know, I'm sure she's going to tell my other siblings and my parents about you and they'll all want to meet you. So if I get a phone call sometime this week I'll know it's them." he said and sighed softly. That was going to be very suffocating, all the attention. "You think so?" Jesse asked as he made a turn and shrugged. "Well if they really want to meet her I suppose they can. I'm sure my sister would want to meet the few friends I do have." Jesse answered and wondered what Faida and Lex would think of his sister.
Faida followed close behind in silence while looking around as they walked. This was very different, she wasn't sure if Lex was always this quiet but if he said he was fine then she'd just have to believe him. When they reached the shop and she saw his truck, Faida just stood back to look at it and nodded. "I think the truck looks very nice." she answered quietly. |
Lex smiled as he open the door for Faida and gave her a slight bow. " My Queen your chariot awaits." He said holding out his hand to help her climb inside. Once she was safely in he closed her door then climbed into the drivers seat himself. He buckled up and drove to Faida's house parking in her drive way leaving room for any other visitors that might wish to stop by. He smiled knowing she was going to be in for a surprise when she open her door. He walked over to her side and open the door for her. He held out his hand bowing once again. " My Queen we have arrived." He said hoping that she would find humor in his actions and not take them as him picking on her.
Radiance smiled at Kia as she heard him. " Well we will take one day at a time together. If your sister wishes to come know I'll do my best to help repair for her. Besides I'm happy I got to learn new things about you today Kia. " She said smiling as she thought about the things she learned. "One, your music ability is breath taking. Two, you really seem to have a way with children, and Three, you seemed to really care deep for those you love or like." Radiance said as she smiled thinking about the kiss he had given her on the cheek. The thought made her blush again as she reached to her cheek almost still able to feel his lips there. |
Faida buckled up and stared out the window the entire ride to her house. Only when she saw her house did she smile, it was as lovely as it was in the picture and it really was pink! Unbuckling the seat belt, Faida took Lex's hand and hopped off the car before letting go and running to her front door like a child. "Oh my! It's actually pink! It's beautiful!" she gasped and ran her fingers along the walls before looking at her front door and sighing. "Oh dear the key! Oh I do not know if I have it. I think Radiance has it!" Faida commented but checked her pockets, letting out a sigh of relief when she felt it in her pocket. "Oh, I have found the key!" she called out to Lex and unlocked the door before opening the door.
"I'll have to invite her over one day. Besides, I need to spend more time with little Ellie. I only saw her when she was just a few days old but I stopped visiting them so I haven't seen her until today. I'm starting out as bad uncle Jesse." he said and laughed softly before frowning slightly and shaking his head. "My piano playing isn't that good Radiant. I suppose it's alright." he commented and noticed the light was yellow. Quickly, he slammed the gas pedal and sped through the intersection, barley passing it on red. "My sister would have killed me if she was in this car right now." Jesse stated and laughed, "That was fun." he said to himself and smiled happily. "Of course I care deeply about those I love Radiant." he said and blushed. "I care about you don't I?" he reminded quietly and Pulled into the driveway of his house. "I just remembered I don't know where you live Radiant." he pointed out. Looking at the driveway, he noticed Lex still wasn't home and wondered if he was okay. |
Radiance felt a little unsure about Kia's driving. She wished she was flying instead. Before long she found herself back at his house. She got out of the car thanking the lord for letting her make it back safely. She had worried for Lex and his driving on his bike. But after today she had a feeling she needed to worry more about Kia. Her attention turned back to Kia as she heard him talk about her house. " Oh really? I thought you had been over a time or two with Lex. It's the only pink house for miles. " She said as she smiled and laughed a little. " The house is hard to miss. " She admitted as she looked to Kia. "However if you wish for me to leave I can walk home. It isn't that far." She said as she smiled.
Lex looked up as he heard Faida. He was about to ask her if she was sure about radiance having the key till he heard her last comment. "Phew I'm glad. " Lex said as he followed behind Faida. His mouth fell open as he saw all the pink balloons and streamers that decorated every inch of the house. The house was full of presents and a large cake was in the middle of the dinning room along with pizza and different goodies that Fadia loved. He even saw some of the gift bags had glitter on them. He knew that the Sheriff had said Faida and Radiance where like his daughters but he didn't realize that he really meant it. There was even a large congratulation's banner strung from one end of the house to the other. The table was set with pink and purple plates and different drinks waited along with some snacks. The house looked ready for a party. He wondered how Faida was going to react. Lex turned his head as he saw a small set of purple presents and knew those had to be for Radiance. He frowned as he thought about Radiance. Jesse and himself hadn't done anything really for Radiance passing her board certification to be a Doctor. Nor had they really done anything for her birthday. He had only found out about her birthday a week ago from filing he was doing at the station. And here for Faida they where going to do a party. He knew that Princess wouldn't mind she seemed to never mind. She was really a sweet girl but he still didn't feel right. He had been working on a hand carved armoire for Faida. He knew her test was coming up and had been working on it in secret. He had been trained by his dad as a carpenter in his spare time. Faida was the first person he had wish to make anything for. He had built a make shift work shop in the back of Jesse's house. He knew Jesse would be happy when he left. He knew he needed to get a house soon for himself. |
"No Radiant I haven't been to your house yet. I think I would remember where you live if I had visited before." Jesse answered and was surprised to hear her say that she lived in the pink house. "The barbie house?" he asked and smiled. "Well I never thought anyone would by that house, It's a cute house from what I've seen." he said and headed out towards the pink house. "There is no way you're walking to your house Radiant, what if something happened to you?" he asked and frowned. "I don't even want to think about that, I'd never forgive myself if something happened to you." he said honestly.
Faida opened the door and widened her eyes when she saw everything that was inside. Was someone in the house already? "Hello? Is someone in here?" she called out and looked at Lex. "What's all this doing here?" she asked quietly and walked into the house slowly. She approached the cake and looked at it then at the pizza, only getting even more confused. She wasn't sure why all this was here, it wasn't her birthday so what was with all the decorations and food? Who was the party for? It wasn't Radiance's birthday was it? "Is it someone's birthday?" she asked but didn't he'd say anything since he had been quiet all day. Frowning she looked up at the banner and smiled weakly. There were so many gifts and balloons and decorations, it really was a nice surprise but she wondered who had put this here and why? |
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you.” Radiance said as she saw the frown on his face. “You know I’m stronger than I look. You don’t have to worry so much about me. Besides you can’t be with me always. I don’t wont you worrying so much. This morning I walked here and nothing happen to me. Just because we admitted we care for one another doesn’t mean you have to be over protective. “ She said softly hoping he understand what she meant. “You think the house is cute? You haven’t seen the inside of it so you don’t know if it is cute or not.” She said as she smiled softly gently taking his hand into hers as she gently walked back to the car with him. “ If it makes you feel better then drive. I promise not to walk.”
Lex looked to Faida as he laughed softly at her reaction. “ Faida this is all for you. The Sheriff and the others did all of this for you. It’s for you passing your test today. Everyone did this for you. They wished to surprise you. You know it’s a way of saying that they are proud of you for all your hard work. I have something as well for you. However it’s at Jesse’s house. I’m sure he’ll be happy to get rid of it. “Lex admitted as he looked around the house. “ They did all of this for you Faida so you could see how much your hard work is appreciated. And I might have viewed your file and Radiance to find out your birthdays. You two have never told us your birthdays. Radiance was not to long ago.” |
I'm over protective? he thought to himself and really hated himself right now. "Umm...n-no it's fine Radiance. If you want to walk then we can walk. W-whatever you want." he said simply and freed his hand from hers so that he could busy himself in cleaning his glasses and then checked his cellphone to see a text from his sister but he just ignored it. "The outside of the house is cute. I'm sure the inside is cute as well." Jesse answered and shrugged his shoulders.
"All for me? B-But it was just an exam. I mean, it is not such a cause for celebration is it?" Faida asked but smiled. "Well thank-you, this is really a very nice surprise." she added quietly and poked the balloons, chuckling softly and sniffed the cake. "Well then, it seems we will not need to be making the dinner as we planned. I wonder when Radiance is getting home and I wonder if this Jesse will be with her." she commented and looked at Lex before walking over to him and hugging him gently. "Thank-you for the nice surprise, I love it." she said and smiled up at him before stepping away and nodding. "Yes you are right, Radiance's birthday passed not too long ago and mine will be coming up soon. We did not mention them because we do not want people to feel that they have to get us any gifts." Faida explained. |
Radiance looked concerned as he freed his hand from hers. She looked down at the ground feeling that she had done something wrong. Without thinking Radiance turned as she started walking off. She walked rather fast as she felt tears fall from her eyes no understanding why she felt so upset. She vanished from sight a a thick and heavy fog appeared suddenly around her. She broke out into a run as she leaped into the air not caring anymore. Unknowingly to her the fog grew even thicker as she flew. Radiance flew not paying any attention to her surroundings she thought about Kia and suddenly she let out a scream as she slammed right into a large oak tree. The impact sent her flying backwards. She landed and rolled a little before stopping. The fog lifted as she laid there her wings hidden once again as she peered up at the sky. She felt something wet as she reached up blood was trickling from her temple. She felt pain for the first time. She looked up as she saw the tree she had hit. Apparently she had hit it mid way. She had fell taking several branches with her. She was sure she had bruised herself and could feel other scrapes and cuts. Her head hurt more than anything. She looked around as she saw she was just a block away from her house.
Radiance finally managed to rise to her feet as she stumbled home. She saw a strange truck in the drive way wondering who that could belong to. However at the moment all she cared about was stopping her bleeding and stopping the pain. She didn't wont to think about Kia. Tears started to fall again as she thought about him. She had only wanted to hold his hand. He didn't have to free it from hers the way he did. She slowly made her way to the front door as she pulled out her key from around her neck using it to open the door. She hobbled in as she was surprised to see Faida and Lex there. She smiled softly as she greeted them. " Oh, I thought you two would be out to dinner." She said as her eyes saw all the decorations and presents. She smiled softly as she looked to Faida." I take it you passed your test?" She asked trying to act normal so they wouldn't think anything was wrong with her. She didn't feel like talking about Kia nor her new injuries." Well I'm going to go up to my room for a while. I'll be down soon." She said as she quickly excused herself. Lex smiled at Faida as he laughed softly. " And what do you wont for your birthday?" He turned as he heard the door open and saw Princess stumble in almost hobbling. "What on earth?" He said as he saw the blood poring from her. He saw the scrapes and could see the clear path on her face where tears had been streaming. It was the only section free from blood and dirt. Before he could ask any questions she managed to hobble away to her room. He looked to Faida wondering if she was as worried as he was. " She just avoided us didn't she? " He asked honestly a little insulted that Radiance thought she could just hobble off with no questions being asked. " It looks like she got in a fight with someone. I'd say they won." He said as he looked at the trail of branches and leafs that had feel from her. " It looks like she might have ran into a tree. But that would have to be really hard for those scrapes. You know let me text Jesse. I thought they where together." He said pulling out his phone and sending a text to Jesse. " Are you ok? Radiance just......stumbled into the house." |
Seeing her walk away, Jesse started to panic as his eyes widened and he hesitated going after her for a moment before running off after her. "Radiant!" he called out and frowned when he lost her. Sighing softly, he kicked a pebble in frustration only to look up when he heard her scream. "Radiant?!" he called out and ran in the direction of her scream. He wasn't fast enough because he didn't see her. He did see a few broken branches and leaves on the ground which confused him. "Radiant?" he called out and picked up his phone, seeing a text from Lex. 'She did? I'll be right there.' he replied and ran towards the pink house.
"I do not know what I want. I do not think I really want anything." Faida answered and looked at the door when it opened, surprised to see that Radiance was bleeding. "Radiance what has happened?" she asked but frowned when she just locked herself in her room. "Yes she has. Perhaps she and Jesse fought?" Faida suggested and sighed softly. "I do not believe that Jesse would do this to her." she added softly and looked at Lex, wondering what he thought about all this. "Ah yes, maybe he knows what is wrong." Faida agreed. |
"Well why don't you think about something you would like and let us know. Jesse said he'll be over shortly. I guess lets get out plates and set the table for everyone. I'm guessing Princess is alright. I mean she is a doctor. With as fast as she hurried away from us I'd say she is alright." Lex said not really sure what to make of Radiance disappearance act. "I'm just as curious as you are as to what happen to her. Hopefully Jesse can tell us when he get here. Till then lets get the table set and get ready to see what presents everyone got you. Princess said she would be down momentarily so we'll just have to take her at her word." Lex said as he walked into the kitchen finding it with ease as he started pulled down plates and cups. The then got the silver wear and sat the table for the group as he called out to Faida. "What do you wont to drink with your Pizza and Cake my Queen?" He asked as he stood in front of the fridge with the door open peeing in at the options.
Radiance hurried to her bathroom as she tried her best to clean herself up. There was more scraps and cuts than she had thought. She kept finding more as she washed herself trying to ensure she got ride of all the blood and dirt. She dried herself off as she wrapped her towel around her slim frame and started applying ointment across her many scrapes and cuts. She bandaged a few and left some exposed. She tried not to cry as she patched herself up knowing her injuries where nothing compared to some of the people she treated. However she found that the cleaning and ointment really hurt and was annoying. |
"I do not know what I would want." Faida said quietly as she helped Lex set the table, wondering if Radiance would even want to eat with them. "I do hope she is okay, I am sure she will explain what happened when she is ready." Faida said and wondered if Jesse even knew what had happened. What if he didn't know? Well she hoped knew, because she wanted to know what had happened to her friend. Looking at Lex when he spoke, Faida thought for a moment. "A glass of milk please and thank you." she replied easily. Faida loved milk, it was her favorite drink.
Jesse soon arrived at the pink house and knocked on the door then checked his phone and texted his sister, explaining what had happened. She would probably freak out and think he had hurt her. Hearing the door, Faida walked over and opened the door, smiling at Jesse. "Please enter inside." she said and moved so that he could walk inside, closing the door once he was inside. "Where is she?" Jesse asked. "I believe she went up to her room, but she will be down momentarily. What has happened? Did you two fight?" Faida asked. "She called me overprotective...." Jesse muttered and checked his cellphone, reading his sister's text. "Then I checked my cellphone, she was walking away, I lost her, she screamed, and now she's here." he said, summarizing the event. |
(Sorry Lady gets to distracted. I'm trying to breed on my X game for pokemon and be a admin for a pokemon group. )
Radiance cleaned herself up and the mess she made as she managed to get dressed. She had never felt the sensation of pain before or if she had it had been a really long time. Strangely to her it was exciting for once she understood how her patients felt. This was something different for her something that made her understand people a little better. It was also a painful reminder that she wasn't immortal anymore. She could be hurt and she could even die. She had never thought about that part of her banishment. It never really seemed relevant. Even for her there where somethings she didn't dwell on. Mortality was one of the things she had never dwelled on. Radiance had never seen her own blood or not that she could remember. Her sentence had forced her to live below the heavens on earth. However she didn't mind she love the humans and creators that called earth home. The transformation didn't really bother her she at least got to keep some of her powers and some type of wings. However the one things she never thought of did bother her slightly. She had never thought of the mortality that came with her banishing sentence. The tree couldn't kill her but a attack from a human could. If this was pain from a tree how awful it would feel to be attacked. She thought as she closed her eyes and tried to not think about anymore pain. Radiance got up and fixed her hair up in a bun as she fixed her dress and made sure she looked as she always did with just with more scraps and cuts along with bandages. Radiance headed back down stairs where she was surprised to see Kia. She didn't say anything to him as she walked passed him and went to the cabinet and pulled down three glasses and helped Lex fix drinks. She didn't speak as she put the glasses down on the table taking her beside Faida as she looked at the Pizza and Cake. She smiled to Faida as she saw the automobile catalog on the table. "You passed today! I'm so happy for you. I take it that everyone else is as well. It looks like the Sheriff is going to let you pick your choice of transportation. " She said as she pointed to the book on the table. " And of course they picked your favorite Pizza and cake." She said as she smiled and laughed. "Oh Lex is that your truck in the drive way?" She asked wondering about the truck. Lex was going to pour the milk when Radiance appeared and started to help him. He arched a brow as he watched her. He looked back to Jesse then to Radiance as he noticed how she avoided him. It wasn't like her to avoid Jesse. Normally those two where glue together. He was surprised that she didn't greet Jesse and that she avoided sitting near him. She also jumped right to Faida then to his truck she was obviously avoiding Jesse. He looked to Jesse wondering what had happen between the two of them. He looked to Faida and finally gave Radiance a soft smile. " Yea it's my new truck. It's what you'll be seeing around town now." He said as he finally took his seat. He had a feeling that something had been miss understood between Jesse and Radiance. From how Radiance was acting he had a feeling that she might have read something Jesse did wrong. There was a difference in men and women when it came to thought and body language. He had a feeling that Jesse might have done something unknowingly to hurt Radiance. " You know Jesse ran after you and has been looking for you. It's not nice to run off Radiance even if your upset. You could have called Faida or I we would have come picked you up. You look like you where hurt pretty badly. I know doctors make the worst patients. But you have to be more careful. One because we only have two doctors here and two because each and everyone of us care about you. And I'm with Jesse you should be more careful and I'll be very over protective if I need to be. Besides you wait till Sheriff hears about this. After my meeting with him I believe you don't wont him to see your new cuts and scrapes. Trust me I have no intention of telling him." Lex said meaning it. The man scared the crap out of him earlier in the day. " However you can't avoid the Sheriff for long. I'm sure the Sheriff would side with Jesse. Just because someone says something that you believe makes them over protective doesn't mean they are wrong. It means they care about you. Jesse cares about you and doesn't wont you hurt. You really worried him and Faida along with myself. You need to think about others before you do something as reckless as you did Radiance. I believe you owe Jesse and apology. In fact neither of you can eat or join Faida and I until you two go upstairs and work this out between yourselves. Now get going. Faida and I haven't ate so hurry it up and make up both of you!" Lex said sounding like a father more than anything. He cut his eyes from Radiance to Jesse giving them both stern looks to let them know he meant what he said. |
Jesse watched Radiance as she clearly avoided him. If this was the game she wanted to play he would let her win, he wasn't going to start begging for her to talk to him. Listening to what Lex said, Jesse only shook his head and leaned against the wall. "Don't tell her that, she'll think you're over protective too. Besides, Radiance can do as she pleases. She's a big girl and if she wants to avoid me then that's fine." Jesse said seriously as he pulled out his cellphone and started texting Nancy, asking if he could go to work right now. "Very nice house by the way Faida, very cute." he said politely and looked at Lex. He could tell he was being serious but he wasn't going to budge. Besides, he already ate so he was in no rush to eat. "Congratulations on passing the exam Faida." he praised.
Faida frowned as she watched the event unfold in front of her but smiled at what Jesse said. "Thank-you kindly Jesse." she said and looked at Faida. "Well yes, but I am not sure what car I will be getting. There are so many to choose from and so many colors. I do want a navy blue one though." Faida explained and looked at Lex, she didn't want anyone to be upset, today was their first day here in the new house and she wanted it to hold good memories, not bad ones. |
Radiance cut her eyes from Faida to Lex. However her eyes ended up landing on Jesse as she heard him. Her eyes widen as she heard his response her mouth fell open as she stared at him. She finally closed her mouth as she heard her phone going off. She didn't bother to move from her seat instead she sat there in silence. She kept her eyes on the empty plate before her as the wind outside picked up dramatically. The sky darken as a massive storm appeared out of thin air. Through it all she just sat there her mind replaying everything that had happen that day. The more she thought about Jesse freeing his hand from her and then his last commit the worse the storm grew.
She was not playing a game with him. How could he say such hurtful things. He had been the one who freed his hand from her and had made her feel like she was more of a burden to him. She ran so she would burden him anymore. A tear streamed down her face as her anger grew. The gash on her temple started to bleed through the bandage on it as her anger grew. She was using more and more of her power unknowingly unleashing it on the town. Her emotions where fueling the storm and draining her body of energy. She started to feel weak as she sat there the bleeding starting to trickle down her face from her wound. " Humans have such good but they have such evil. I never asked for this. " She said more to herself as she reached up to her temple pressing her hand to it trying to make the bleeding stop. " They don't mean what they say. Maybe it is true maybe they are all lairs. Maybe I was wrong. " She said as she thought about Jesse. He had went from being so sweet to breaking her heat almost instantly. And he didn't seem to care about her or her feelings at this point. She slowly stood as she walked to where Jesse was. " Your words have no meaning. I never wish to see you again. Why don't you tell your sister that. If you don't mean what you say then why waist your breath. You acted like I was a burden to you because I offered to walk home. I tried to appease you and hold your hand instead your snatched your hand from mine and ignored me going to your phone. You put up your walls again. I'm doing with you and your walls. I wont to go home away from this place. I should have never disobeyed. He was right for judging you so." She said as she turned jumping a large branching smacking the glass french doors that lead to the back yard. She slowly walked to the door as she peered out. "Oh no....what have I done." She said at a whisper as she tried to calm the storm. However at this point she had no energy left to control the storm. The storm raged on as more blood trickled down her face from her wound. Radiance hit the ground as she blacked out from the loss of energy and blood. The use of her power had made the wound bleed again. The amount she used caused the wound to start pouring blood. She had used her powers to their full potential unknowingly putting herself in greater danger. Radiance slipped into her deepest and darkest memories. Her darkest the day she fell. She was reliving that day over and over again in her slumber tears randomly trailing down her cheeks from it. Lex eyes cut from Jesse to Radiance then to Faida as he wasn't honestly sure what to do. His mouth fell open hearing what Jesse said. " Princess he didn't...." Before he could get it out Radiance body language changed. He turned as he watched a sudden storm appear. He looked back to Radiance as he saw how angry she was getting. It was the first time he had ever seen her angry. He had never seen her upset once. However this side of her he honestly feared. She was way to quiet even for her and the anger that was surfacing in her eyes scared it. He jumped as lighting started to strike the ground and thundered rolled. He almost seared the storm was feeding on Radiance emotions. The storm seemed to be growing more and more with each passing second as Radiance anger seemed to grow. "Radiance!!" He said watching the bleeding coming from the bandage then starting to seem out from under it and down her face. He was shocked as he heard what Radiance said to Jesse. Jesse had hurt her more than even he thought. He honestly wasn't sure that anything could hurt Radiance. She took so much from everyone and never really complained. People had made fun of her and she never once got mad. However it appeared Jesse had hurt her and found her anger. It was always the quiet ones you had to watch out for. This was making Faida and him look tame. He had never heard Radiance say one cross word about anyone. So to hear her say she was done with Jesse felt like a jab in the stomach to him. It pained him to hear her say she wished to go home. Before Lex could react he watched Radiance hit the floor her eyes had rolled back into her head and closed as her body hit the floor hard. It scared him as he stood there frozen in place. He had seen this before with all the blood it looked like a gun shot. It took him back to his partner and that night. He knew she needed help but for a moment he was frozen. " We need to get way from the windows and doors! This looks like this is going to be a really bad storm. Faida lets take our food to the living room and Jesse get some dry and wet towels. We can't go out in the storm. We need to get pressure on this wound and stop the bleeding or none of us will be seeing her again." He said as he cut his eyes to Jesse. " Towels or you carry her to the living room and hold pressure on the wound til I get the towels for you. You can't leave the house with how bad the storm is growing. We will all be lucky to make it through the storm in one piece. " He said as he shook his head. |
Jesse looked up, hearing the wind picking up outside. He was confused when he saw the storm that was starting up outside. He was surprised though when he heard Radiance speak to him. "You're not a burden, I offered to drive you home. You wanted to walk home so I agreed to it. I did not snatch my hand away, stop lying. I let go of your hand to check a text I had received from my sister. I am not putting up any walls, my walls were never down to begin with Radiance, thank-you." he said simply. He didn't want to fight with her especially in her house. "I would tell my sister this, but I have no reception now because of this storm. But I'll let her know as soon as I can, I can promise you that much." he muttered.
He watched her walk away and sighed softly. This is why he stayed away from girls, they always took everything so seriously. Just answering a text caused Radiance to flip out and hate him. His sister would order him to get back with Radiance, to fight for her and he was sure Lex would lecture him as well. Jesse didn't want to deal with that though, maybe some space was what they needed. Looking up when he heard Lex, he frowned. "I'm not carrying her, I'll get the towels." he said simply and left to get some towels, so much for a good day. Grabbing a few towels, he walked back out to the living room and handed Lex the towels then sat on the floor against the wall. Faida frowned with how the things had played out. Why was Radiance so upset? What had happened between her and Jesse? She listened to what Radiance had accused him of and listened to Jesse's defense. She didn't know who to believe but that was the last thing on her mind when she saw Radiance fall to the floor. "Radiance!" she screamed and quickly ran to her friend's side. "Radiance wake up. This is not funny, please get up." she said and listened to Lex. Hesitantly, Faida stood and gathered the food before moving it all to the living room and busying herself in arranging it perfectly for them all to enjoy. |
"You really are a cold man." Lex said to Jesse as he shook his head. " Maybe I was wrong about you. Just because you have a disagreement with someone you care about doesn't give you reason to not come to their aid. Is talking to your sister really all you care about? I don't really believe it matters who is right or Wrong either way you both got hurt. Right now your looking like a real jerk. You said you cared about her and she is out cold bleeding profusely might I add and all you care about is reception? Huh I wonder why she felt she was a burden to you. And why she felt you put up walls. Maybe you should go check your own attitude before you come out first. The Jesse I know told me to say I was sorry and make up with Faida. However the first disagreement he has the person he cared about is injured and out cold mind you and he could care less. After seeing this side of you I can understand where Radiance came from. You could have waited for the text. But why don't you step outside and see if you get a better single. Maybe something will knock you back to your senses while your out there. Your friend is hurt and all you wont to do is argue and have the last word. " Lex said as he rolled his eyes walking over and picking Radiance up. He carried her to the living room and laid her down on the floor taking a seat beside her as he placed a pillow under her head resting it on his legs as he held a dry towel to her head.
He cursed under his breath as he tried to peered at the wound. It was a deep gash and honestly needed stitches he was afraid. However he wasn't a doctor and he wonted to try pressure before he tried stitching someone up. He shook his head as he looked around the house at all the nice things that had been done for Faida. He fixed himself a plate of food as he kept watch on Radiance. He had every intention of taking her to the hospital as soon as he could. She had fell very hard and with her not waking up he honestly was a little worried. Even if Jesse was acting big and bad he wasn't going to let Radiance suffer. He looked to Faida as he tried to smile at her. " well you'll have to open your presents. I wont to see what you got." He said as he smiled at her hoping that the distraction of opening presents would make her feel better. " Don't worry about Radiance I'll watch her and when the storm lets up so it's safe to go out we can take her to the hospital just to make sure. " He said trying to reassure himself that everything was going to be fine. |
"Lex please, I don't need this right now okay? If she wants to avoid me at all costs then I'll do her the favor of staying away. I was doing just fine before I met her, so I know I'll be okay without her now." Jesse started, getting really upset. He knew his parents and siblings were probably worried about him because of the storm but right now he had no reception to answer, but he wasn't going to tell Lex that. "I could have ignored my sister you're right. But I was starting to get along with her and didn't want to mess that up. I don't know if you care, but family is more important to me than anything okay? I only have one sister and I want to try to have a good relationship with her while she's still here. The same goes for the rest of my family. I didn't know it was against the law to talk to your family." he commented and sighed softly. Talking was pointless though, he just wanted to go home and hide under the sheets and get some sleep. Maybe things would be better the next day.
"I know she will be okay, I'm more worried about both of them. I do not like how this has turned out, they looked so happy and now they hate each other." Faida explained quietly but took a bite of her food as she sat closer to Lex and smiled sadly. Looking at her presents, she began to carefully open each one up. Smiling when she saw the various gifts she had received. She still wished that today could have been better, she knew that she and Lex would have a lot of work ahead of them now to try to get these two to make up, but that was going to be very difficult to achieve. |
Lex said nothing further letting Jesse stew in his own funk. The guy was wrong on many levels but he didn't wish to fight with Jesse. If Jesse wonted to stew then he would let him. Family is important but so are friends. Faida, Radiance, and Nancy where also family to Jesse even if he was to arrogant and bull headed to see it. Right now he was honestly more worried that Jesse and Radiance may both get their wish. The bleeding had stopped but it started bleeding again. If Radiance died Jesse would regret this fight. He couldn't blame Radiance after seeing this side from Jesse. He honestly wondered if he was even safe in the house with Jesse. If he was hurt he wondered if Jesse would care or would he be more worried about himself and his family. Maybe Radiance wasn't wrong at all. Jesse was selfish it appeared and only cared about himself.
Lex looked up as the storm started to calm down. He got up and carried Radiance in his arms. " I'm going to take her to the hospital the bleeding isn't stopping. It should be clam enough to get her there safely." He said as he hurried out of the house with her putting her in the passage seat buckling her up as he held one hand on her head and the other he drove with. One there the nurses took her away. He waited for what seemed like hours. Finally they came out and said she would be alright but she would be in the hospital for a little while. From the fall there was some swelling on her brain and she had lost a lot of blood. He could tell they had other questions however he didn't feel like answering them. By now the storm was gone and he text Faida and Jesse to let them know what the nurses had said. He himself stayed there for the night keeping Radiance company. (Time Skip.) It had been a few weeks and Radiance had been cleared to go home and return back to her job. However to Lex dismay nothing seemed to change between the two. He had noticed that Radiance had become secluded and didn't even go near the dinner anymore. The only time he saw her was at the hospital. She kept to the nurses and other doctor she had even stopped coming to the drive in movie. He had noticed she seemed to pick up more hours at work. It honestly broke his heart to see how radical Radiance had changed. She had even went as far as to turn off her personal phone. All it went to was her in box when you called and the message said her inbox was full and to try again later. If it wasn't work related Radiance wasn't there. He wasn't sure where she went though. Because he knew she was rarely home now. He worried because he knew how worried Faida would be. Since coming home Radiance didn't smile once. It felt like ages since she had laughed. There where no pictures of her nor Jesse in the house. It made the house feel empty almost. He had noticed the last time he was over that she had stopped caring for the garden everything had started to wilt and die. Unfortunately that was the least of his problems more and more strange events where unfolding in the town. And he had a gut feeling those two figures where the source of it. He rolled his eyes as he got up and walked to Jesse's room. He knocked on it and stood out side of it knowing he needed his help. Even if Jesse was being a jerk right now he needed backup. " I need you to come with me. I need to investigate a old crime scean near the dinner. I can't ask Faida because she is out on patrol." He said hoping it didn't have to take Jesse kicking and screaming out of the house for this. Radiance spent her time since waking up in the hospital dedicating it to healing others. She kept to herself and taught the nurses and doctors all she knew. She even picked up more shifts. Radiance had stopped even bothering to go home after a week or two. She had stopped eating for the most part as well. She only ate what she had to and ate alone or with the nurses. She spend her time at the hospital or at the shrine debating on her choices in life. She had even went as far as to lock the shrine not allowing any humans nor workers into it. She used her power over the weather to ensure that no one could enter it. It had gotten bad enough the Sheriff himself had come and begged and pleaded with her. However she just didn't care anymore. In one of her rages she had demolished the entire Shrine. Nothing was left standing not even her tree in the middle of the lake she had once slept in. There was nothing but ruble left of the great structure. Not even the animals came near the Shrine anymore. It looked how she felt. The more she tried to forget about Jesse the more it only hurt her. She had went as fair as to stop even wearing her enchanted items while in the mountains at the ruins of the shrine. She no longer cared if anyone saw her. It wasn't like they could do anything she couldn't fend off. Besides at lest for once she could be herself in her true form. It felt good for her wings to be themselves. It felt good to not hide who and what she was. It felt good to feel anything but human to her at this point in time. Rayth had started gathering information on the angels and the man who had spotted him and Matt so easily. He had to admit that Lex's records where very impressive. He really was a heck of and officer. However it bothered him that the man hadn't seen through Faida's papers and sweet little Radiance or Zandras. The past few weeks had lead to many surprises. The first being the storm that had hit. And of course the strange weather that started to happen in the mountains. He would have never known about the shrine till a frail sweet innocent worker happen to find her way into his arms and a few other into Matts. The two where more than happy to lift the girls up and take all the information they could give them on the shrine. He had done his home work avoiding Lex and the girls going into the Library and stealing all the old books from the locked up compartments. Of course this meant the police where now on the look out for the thief who stole the old books. The books where a treasure trove of information. The old lore that people just passed off a lore spoke of Radiance and told her story of banishment. It told of her banishment and what powers she had left. It even spoke of the holly shrine that was built high in the mountains to protect her. And of the lake made from her tears. It spoke of the healing aspects of her tears. That is what the workers had been selling to make money and keep her hidden. But it appeared for some reason the fallen angel no longer cared about the shrine nor the people who had guarded her. He and Matt had seen explosions come from the mountain and pieces fall from the mountain. The workers themselves where even sent away and banned from ever entering the mountain again. However the mountain was still to dangerous for him and Matt to explore further as they would like to. The angels power seemed to keep wicked storms on the mountain. Matt had done some sneaking into the police station and found pictures of the girls. He had even found information on the one male Radiance had been seen in a car with. Jesse was a different story and honestly Matt and him didn't waste their time reading up on Jesse. There was nothing special about him. They had learned from some of the nurses that Jesse and Radiance had been once great friends and even something more. But apparently the night of the bad storm that hit the town all that changed. In all honesty Jesse had done more for them. He had made it easier to locate Radiance. And they knew she couldn't keep up her storms forever on the mountain. Some of the nurses had been so kind and informed the pair of how worried they where or their dear friend. Apparently Radiance had stopped eating or only ate what she had to in order to live. With just a bare minimal amount of food she wouldn't have the energy anymore to do much. She was defeating herself rather she knew it or not. Rayth and Matt had already decided that taking her own in town or the hospital was out of the question. They where going to take her on at the shrine or what was left of it. No one would hear the shots or her screams up there. She had pushed away the workers and everyone it seemed while she was up there. As for Faida they where just going to use Radiance to lure her out. All they needed was a feather from Radiance dipped in her blood with a note that mysteriously appeasers to Faida to get her to come to them. Two birds with one stone. Their job would be done soon unless the meddlesome cop put his nose into their business again. Rayth and Matt had a disliking for his skills because he kept interfering with their plans. If he was on their side they would admire his skills. However they both had lives on the line and his butting in was getting annoying. |
Weeks had passed since Jesse and Radiance had ended whatever relationship they had and Jesse busied himself with work, and cleaning the house. It was as if nothing had happened really, Jesse had learned to quickly move on and spent more time taking his lunch breaks with Nancy instead just as friends of course. When he wasn't working, he would clean the house spotless then would lock himself up in his room and rearrange everything just to keep himself busy. On occasions he would stop and read, but he preferred to work. Sure radiance had told him to take it easy and he was trying when they actually talked but now she was a stranger to him. He never bothered to call her or visit her at the hospital, preferring to stay at home and get things done.
Hearing a knock at his door, Jesse fixed his glasses on his face and opened the door before stepping out of his room and closing the door behind him. "Alright then let's go." he said plainly and didn't bother to fix his messed up hair. There was no point in looking presentable on a non work day after all. Faida had been crying for the majority of the time, she missed Radiance. Radiance rarely ever spoke to her and whenever Faida tried to make Radiance she only failed. Work wasn't as interesting because all Faida could do was worry, this was getting out of hand but there was nothing anyone could do. "Oh Radiance where have you gone." she whispered to herself as she continued on her patrol. She wished that Lex was with her, but he had left early, probably to try and convince Jesse to see Radiance and make up but Faida didn't think it would be easily done. |
