What's the best laptop for gaming?

If files are missing, something could have accidentally deleted some of the files from your system 32 folder. You need all of those files to boot up your computer. That would cause what your saying, especially if it's saying that the files are missing. You need to boot from the recovery. Have you done shift+f8? As soon as you start up, try pressing shift+f8. Depending on how fast your computer boots up, it may take a few tries.

(edit)
As far as a gaming computer, I could get all super specific but here are the basics for a desktop:

Processor: Intel Core i7
RAM: 16gb
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 780TI or Nvidia GTX 970
Harddrive: 1tb+ (the more the merrier, SSD hard drives are generally much quicker but more expensive)
Liquid cooling is a plus

For a laptop:
Same general specs, look for MSI gaming laptops or Razor gaming laptop. You may have to sacrifice harddrive space if you go with a laptop, but it all depends on the model. I also don't think liquid cooling is available for laptops, but I could be wrong.

Install Linux. Problem solved. Unless you like gaming. There are a lot of really good gaming laptops out there but you should just pick the one that feels right. Maybe look it up on Google and see what people who have it are saying about it before you buy it. If it's a reliable model and has a big buttload of RAM you should be fine for a while. I was kind of kidding about Linux. I've gotten lots of games to run on it, but most people would just rather not deal with what it takes to do it.

I haven't used Win8 yet so I can't really help you much with that. I'm really sorry. I could Google it and try to help, but it's not always easy without the machine in front of me.
