"I love you so much!" Lori kissed Bruce deeply while Jason gagged in the back seat. "Gross." Jason hurried off to Gemini's room. "There kissing...cute." he trailed off at the sight of the baby.

Gemini looked up at the sound of Jason's voice. "Kissing, this early? Those two never quit. Come on in and say hi." She said with a smile. Rosemary blinked up at them.

"I love you, too." Bruce said with a chuckle. "Now, we should go before Jason decides to make trouble." He kissed Lori on the cheek quickly before getting out of the car and heading inside.

"I'm not going to set her off am I?" Jason fiddled with his pocket then yelped as Lori rushed in pulling Bruce with her. "Meh." Jason sighed.

Gemini held up a hand, effectively stopping Lori and Bruce from coming any closer. "No, of course not. She's pretty calm right now." She said to Jason. "Lori, Bruce, you can come closer, but slowly. And Jason gets to see her first, because he didn't waste time kissing in the parking lot." She said with a smirk.

Bruce rolled his eyes. "Fine, fine. I'll wait. But not for too long." He said.

"You know you could have your own." Lori said offhandedly watching Jason inspect the baby as if she were a bomb. "Can I hold her?" He asked nervously.

Gemini nodded. "Of course. Here, hold your arms like this..." She showed Jason how to hold the baby, then placed Rosemary gently in his arms. "There you go. Support her head...I think she likes you." Gemini was right, Rosemary was staring up at Jason in fascination, a little smile on her face.

Bruce raised an eyebrow. "I know, but I'd rather be married first." He said, watching as Jason held the baby for the first time. "So, what's her name?" He asked.

"She's not going to explode is she?" Jason asked eyeing Rosemary with slight terror. "No people don't just blow up." Lori chuckled ignoring Bruce's statement. "Her name is Rosemary as her godmother I have to know this." She nodded. Jason swallowed holding Rosemary close so he wouldn't drop her he seemed fascinated by the tiny little girl as if he wasn't sure how anything that small could turn out to be like him someday.

"Gemini asked you to be the Godmother? I knew it." Bruce said with a smile as he watched Jason interact with Rosemary. "Rosemary is a beautiful name, and she's beautiful, Gemini." He added.

Gemini smiled happily. "Thank you. Don't worry Jason, she won't hurt you." She added, looking at the boy. Rosemary seemed taken with him, reaching up to try and grab his nose.

"Actually, Gemini, there's something I need to discuss with you regarding Rosemary." Bruce said carefully.

Gemini looked up. Judging by his tone, this was something she wanted to pay attention to. "Alright. Close the door and we'll talk."

Lori closed the door and giggled as Jason jumped surprised by Rosemary's grab at his nose. "Your hilarious Jason." she chuckled and Jason pouted a little before smiling at Rosemary "Your kind of heavy." he handed her to Lori rubbing his arms.

Once the door was closed, Bruce sat down in a chair next to the hospital bed. "Gemini, I did a little digging and found out something...about Rosemary's father." He said uncomfortably.

"That's nice and all, Bruce, but I decided early on that I don't want anything to do with the father. He doesn't want her and we don't need him. So whatever it is-"

"You're going to want to know this." Bruce cut her off. "It's important. And it's important that no one besides the people in this room ever know about it. Gemini, the man you were dating, the father of your baby...he's the Joker." He took a moment to let that sink in.

Jason and Lori both looked at Rosemary then at Gemini. "The Joker?" Lori blinked and then grimaced. "no wonder he didn't want her I can't see the Joker being a father." "Is that really what your worried about?" Jason frowned. "This child could be dangerous." he went on guard. "She's a baby Jason and with us raising her there's no way she could turn out like him." Lori raised her eyebrow at him. "I guess your right sorry." Jason blushed.

Gemini's face turned red, and she seemed somehow taller even though she was sitting down. "My baby will never be anything like that man. Despite genetics, as far as I'm concerned, he is not her father. And Bruce, why exactly is it so important that I know this?" She asked.

Bruce swallowed a little. He didn't want to admit that, deep down, he'd had the same thought as Jason. "Well first of all, genetics do factor in. We don't know what traits she got from him, if any." He paled under Gemini's angry gaze, but went on. "But more than that, this makes both you and the baby a target. If this is found out, the police will want both of you, the doctors at Arkham will want to study her, and every other villain in Gotham will want to get rid of her- including and especially Harley Quinn and the Joker himself. Rosemary poses a threat to all of them as a possible heir to her father's legacy. That's why you need to know, because knowing will help you protect her."

Gemini's anger faded as she listened, and she slumped back into the bed. "I can't believe this. It was already hard enough, but at least I was prepared for being a single parent. Now I'm a single parent of a child who everyone wants gone, and no one will ever be able to trust her and that will just kill me...how am I going to protect her? Joker already knows she exists, and so Harley probably found out, too. That's already too much danger. Dear God, what if Harley comes after her? Rosemary is all I have...I have to protect her. But I don't know how."

"I want her around...trust well she's a baby and she will love her aunty so no worries there. If Harley comes after her I'll kill her with a dull spoon." Lori said pleasantly kissing Rosemary's head. "Between the two of us she'll be fine. The Joker must want her or else be would have killed you both maybe he's hoping she'll be deranged like him."

Gemini shuddered. "That's even worse. With Harley, we can get rid of her. But Rosemary will grow up and eventually she'll be able to make her own decisions. If Joker wants her, then he'll find some way to influence her later in life. He's too smart like that. But...if we raise her right and teach her and be honest with her from the start, then she'll make the right choice when the time comes. You'll help me, right? You'll help me teach her?"

Bruce nodded. "That goes without saying. The last thing anyone wants is for the Joker to gain a new ally. Add that to wanting to protect Rosemary and I've got more than enough reason to help out. Plus, we're friends, right? Even if we're not as close as we used to be." He said. "And who knows, maybe having Jason around will help, too. A big brother figure could be a great influence on a child."

Jason scowled a little still not trusting the situation but with a sigh he nodded. "As much as I want to be mad at her she's just to cute."

"So its decided then we'll all help raise Rose. I'll spend the first couple nights with you so you don't go crazy to soon." Lori grinned.

Gemini beamed at all of them. "Thank you so much. I really appreciate it." She said, reaching out to take Rosemary back from Lori. The baby cooed happily and yawned.

Bruce chuckled. "It's no problem. That's what friends are for, after all." He said. "Have you had breakfast yet? We'll go down to the cafeteria and get you something." He offered.

Lori handed Rose back. "Food is good you have to have plenty of energy to feed the baby!" She grinned. Jason felt a little left out of the group a soft pout on his face as she watched the trio.

Seeing Jason's put-out look, Gemini spoke up. "That sounds great. How about you two go and Jason can stay here to keep me company." She said. Gemini always got along well with kids, considering she was rather kid-like herself.

Bruce raised an eyebrow, but nodded. "Fine with me. Anything specific you want, or should we just bring back whatever?" He asked, getting the distinct feeling that Gemini just wanted to get him and Lori alone.

"I know what she likes." Lori skipped away humming softly as she went not even looking back to see if Bruce was following.

Jason watched them go before sitting in a chair by the bed. "Do you think they'll be like that forever?" He sighed a little. "I kind of wish they would make out and get it over with."

Bruce blinked and followed Lori quickly. "Hey, wait up!" He called after her.

Gemini chuckled. "I'm sure they'll come around sooner or later. Consider yourself lucky, though. I've been watching those two dance around their feelings since junior high." She rolled her eyes.

Jason grimaced. "I would have locked them in a closet...wait I thought Bruce had left by high school do carry out his training." He frowned.

Lori paused long enough to take his hand before continuing on her search for the kitchen.

Gemini shook her head. "Common misconception. Actually, he completed high school and disappeared after he went off to college. People think it was high school because he became really reclusive during that time, and did most of his schoolwork at home. Only Lori ever saw him regularly, and I saw him every so often. That was when we started drifting apart. But the few times all three of us were together, I could practically cut the romantic tension with a knife. It was really awkward." She said.

Bruce smiled as Lori took his hand and walked with her. "So, what do you think she's telling him in there?" He asked. If he knew anything about Gemini, it was that she talked sometimes. She was probably telling Jason plenty of embarrassing things about them all right then.

"Maybe us he seems embarrassed when we kiss." Lori smiled a little. "Of course he is only a kid so we must seem icky when we kiss." she chuckled.

'Oh that bad huh? What stopped them from being together? Where they just stubborn?" Jason was curious to find out all he could about Bruce who didn't really talk about his past that often.

Bruce nodded. "Yeah, probably. He's a curious kid, so he's probably asking her all kinds of questions." He said.

"I don't really know." Gemini sighed. "Back in grade school and junior high it was just shyness. They were each afraid to ask the other out. But once it got to high school, things just got worse. Lori was going to make a move the day Bruce disappeared...it broke her heart. It took a long time before she recovered from that one, and Bruce knows it, which is why he took so long to ask her out after he came back."

"Lori's something else. It's hard to describe her she's nice but she has a temper and she spazzes a lot." Jason chuckled. "Was she always that way."

"Well he's not here know if you want to kiss me." Lori teased nudging his arm a playful smile on her face.
