Wonderful World o' Watercolors
Watercolors! You either love them or you LOATHE them from what I gather. I love em. They're my preferred painting medium. It's been a while since I've whipped them out and played around, but I was hoping chatting about them would make me want to paint. |
RESERVED FOR WATERCOLOR ARTS! |
To start, here's a Froud-esque goblin I did aaaaaaaaaages ago with watercolors:
http://www.menewsha.com/forum/pictur...ictureid=37080 He's a little wonky...but that's how goblins do, right? I have a 24 set palette of nice semi-wet Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors. Yarka St. Petersburg Professional Watercolor Pan Sets - BLICK art materials I love them and they've lasted forever. That being said, they don't take well to cool tricks with salt...so I have to get a cheaper set for that. I also have some iridescence watercolors that I ordered online. I use them for illuminating manuscripts and for little faery pictures (and landscapes). |
I actually teach a basic watercolor class at the park I work at right now. Every saturday I let folks play with what we have and they leave with something they made. :3
Personally I have some small kits for field art and some basic colors in tubes for larger pieces. http://i.imgur.com/G5gSNEt.png A bit of field art I did back in college. roly poly geeses. |
Oh that's fantastic! I love the geese, Longcat.
Was the field class like nature journaling? Cause I took a class that was half science/half art. I'll have to upload some pictures. |
I actually don't like painting in watercolors, but I do like making prints in watercolors.
|
How do you do prints in watercolors?
