You mean you think Evie and Carlos have dyed hair colors? I consider theirs naturally blue and white, respectively. Just like how Mal's is purple. Did their hair change in color at some point?
When Mal went back to purple hair during the makeover, I saw her hair all wet in that one shot and was like, "Huh, I guess the magic washes out." |
Well see, I originally saw it as all natural too. But Mal's hair is lighter now, which makes me think that's how the purple dyed over the bright blonde. When it was all wet, to me it looked like Dizzy was rinsing all of the dye out of her hair! I mean, if the magic washed out that easily then every time she got wet or showered or got in the pool her blond hair would be gone, so I would think it wouldn't be so easily removed without magic removing it, ya know? She needed it as part of her public image, and if it changed that easily the press would have a field day.
Since there's no magic on the island, I figured that scene with Dizzy was showing her hair being dyed back to purple. But then Evie's hair has stayed blue the whole time, and I can't imagine she's dying it blue if she's full on Aurodon and such - and Carlos still has is two-toned hair even though he straightened it out and made it more preppy. But Dizzy also talked about doing Evie's hair, so that's why that one confuses me! XD; I can't tell of Dizzy dyed the hair because there was no magic to undo the spell, or if they actually all dyed their hair. I went into the movie sure it was natural, and I came out questing it xD; -hopefully that made sense- |
Oh, I didn't think of dyeing it purple over the magic blond. That would indeed explain the lighter shade. Her hair was really dark when it was wet, though… I say it's a dye job with the blond washed out.
I wouldn't be surprised if Mal had to keep doing the spell. She had it bookmarked in her book. Even if the blond stays in when wet, her hair might still grow in purple. Are you certain Dizzy was talking about dyeing Evie's hair when she spoke of "doing" it? |
That could be! Temporary to get her back on track while it naturally grows in again. I'm sure she has to keep the spell going every time her hair grew because it was really long when her hair was barely to her shoulders before - I'm thinking it's probably lighter because of a temporary dye job while the real color grows in, or at least that was the idea since there was no magic on the Isle. I wonder if when she got back to Aurodon she undid the spell? I feel like it might have been darker in the updo at the ball but I may be thinking of the coronation from the first movie - I only saw it on release night so now I'm second guessing lol!
As for Evie I initially thought it was just styling, but then when it looked like Mal got her hair dyed I started to wonder if Evie dyed her hair blue and if Carlos dyed his two toned - the only one with a normal hair color is Jay lol! But then I thought about the fact that they wouldn't be dying their hair like that in Aurodon because they changed the style to be preppy, but didn't change the signature color, where Mal clearly did. That's when I confused myself and wondered how everyone else interpreted the Mal/Dizzy scene lol! |
Mal's got a rebel streak that won't die, so it's totally fine for her to change signature colors. You watched this movie very closely. [XD]
Speaking of not dying, "Curl Up & Dye." I didn't pick up on the word play right away, but when I did, it was great. #IsleBusinessNames |
I can't wait for the next installment of Decedent's. The books are amazing. As were the shorts on Youtube. I love how they all flow together. First book, first movie. Second book, Youtube shorts. Third book, second movie. Just so very well done.

I just have a very visual memory - when I recall scenes like that I literally see it in my head and can describe it, most of the time with lines from the movie if I've seen it enough, so it's not really that I've watched it closely, it's just that I literally have a visual memory XD; Right?? I loved that!! I also loved the reference to Cinderella in her rags and doing all of the housework and stuff. Even yelling down to her was similar. I loved the little bits they threw in like that. Even though Cinderella is technically her Aunt, they're not blood related at all, but Dizzy is more what I envisioned for Cinderella's kid that her actual kid... Chad is just... yeah.. I can't even with him XD; Quote:

[glomp] Hiya hummy! Welcome to the hangout! <3
|
I'm trying so hard to figure out how to explain how I see things because it seems like there's a way I look at the world that no one else does. Never have I met anyone who questioned things as little as I do.
Chad cracked me up this time around. "AUDREY!" |
I'm not sure how to really describe that either, but I'm sure you're not alone in feeling that way <3
It's certainly a unique way of looking at the world though, and until you run into someone who thinks the same way as you do it'll probably feel like you're odd, but there's nothing wrong with looking at things differently! People always find me odd as I describe things (until they get used to me) because I literally look off into space as I visualize what I'm describing. Then I almost like, talk to myself as I get it straight in my head while I'm explaining it. I also use my hands and gesture as if we're physically looking at what I'm seeing too, which throws people off to XD; The way I see it, we all see things and visualize things differently! There's really no wrong or right or better or worse way - it's just OUR way :3 Omg right?? That and constantly appearing in the boys' room with the multiple keys XD; Like seriously Chad?? I will agree he was amusing this time around! The first movie he was just so... just no -shudders- Legit made my skin crawl with irritation - I like just can't even handle him xD; |

I was telling some friends this week that I ought to work on getting over that initial "aw, why?" reaction when someone doesn't like a thing I like. Or the just "why?" reaction when someone likes a thing I don't like. Likes and dislikes offer such a great chance to learn about a person. I know if I told someone about my likes, they could learn a ton about who I am and where I come from.
Chad knew better than to try to pull one over the VKs. Li'l Auradon boy didn't stand a chance. *chuckle* |
*hugs the thread lurkers and all*

*ish hugged*
@ Amane: Usually my only answer to the question of "why?" I like something is "Uhhh...because I do...?" I am very bad at explaining why I like things X'P |
I'm not very good at using my words! I don't know how to say what I mean and I'm misunderstood a lot. I end up talking for a very long time trying to clearly say exactly what I mean.

Too bad the thread for wall-of-texters isn't very active.
|
I just don't bother explaining why I like or dislike things anymore. The reasoning seems to just go completely over people's heads.
Oh, right. And the no particular reasoning is involved thing anyway. |
Because of astrology, I tear apart my early memories trying to figure out why I like/dislike everything. [XD]
