Saria just nodded. "Two days at the most, might be sooner. I have two assistants that will help with the dress." She said sweetly. "Markus, my other assistant, he is running errands at the moment but he does a fabulous job on bodices." She wrote softly at the top corner, right under the color choice. "Carrie is still in training but she is very good at the simple dresses. She'll be on the bottom part of your dress, of course I'll add the sheer and the champagne colored designs." She told her smiling in her sweet way. She only hired the very best, well in her view, the best was the most determined to better themselves and become the best at the profession. Rosa just smiled softly at Contessa. "Well I am his mother. I know Daylen better than anyone. Ask anything you want about him." She knew practically everything about him, if there was a chance to help her then she would be more than willing to. Both the seamstress and Rosa would agree to that, the heart was a strange thing indeed.
Sirus just waved playfully with both hands as he saw Edward's face. "Don't worry, he mastered that ability. He doesn't hurt anyone with it, just stays to himself out of old habit." Daylen just nodded in agreement, took him a while to get it but he did have excellent control over the pyrokinesis. "It's fine, I wasn't offended." Daylen replied in his soft manner. "I told you what happened to our father, I believe Daylen is afraid of it happening to their child; if Miss Contessa and him have one that is." Sirus just stated as Daylen looked at his brother. He could swear he could read minds at times but knew better. It was just weird that he knew him so well. "I honestly believed Daylen would die old and alone, then the Elders set this arrangement up. Lucky him." Sirus said jokingly to his plain staring brother. "Originally they wanted me but my mother forced them to take Daylen in my place." Daylen just looked at his brother, he did not know that. "Also the Eldest of the Elders keeps harassing Daylen to be his apprentice, seeing how no one so far has such a raw elemental ability like Daylen but he keeps refusing that offer." Daylen just shook his head at his rather talkative brother, though he was glad that Sirus had changed the subject, just not to the one he did. |
Contessa smiled at the seamstress and clasped her hands together rather excitedly. "Oh I cannot wait to see how it turns out! I'm sure it will be beautiful!" she said happily and hugged herself, she was really happy with the way the dress was turning out and couldn't wait to see the finished result. When Rosa offered to answer any questions that she might have about Daylen, she paused to really think about it. She didn't want to offend her in any way. "I worry I'll upset him somehow." she said finally and looked over at Rosa. "It's hard to tell when he's happy or when he's upset...so I always tend to keep quiet around him so that I don't say something that might offend him. We do talk, I just really have to think about what I want to say." Contessa explained, wondering if she was even making any sense to Rosa.
Edward shook his head and smiled, "I understand that would concern you, but Contessa would make sure it didn't happen. Of course, this is something I think you and her should talk about." he said, nodding his head. They both really needed to sit down one day and just talk about things that concerned them, or else this marriage was going to end in both of them just living as room mates. Edward tilted his head to the side, confused. "It would have made sense for the oldest to be the one getting married, but your mother obviously had a very good reason as to why she chose you instead Daylen." he pointed out and did wonder why she had chosen him, it really was out of the ordinary but he was sure she had a reason behind her choice. One that he and his family respected. "Oh really? Well that's really serious, they don't pick just anybody you know. Though if you've already said no to them, I'm not sure why it is they keep asking you. Seems pointless don't you think?" he asked softly. |
Saria smiled sweetly. She handed the sketch to her assistant before she went to a stack of white fabrics. She looked at Contessa then through the fabrics, she need to find the perfect one for her dress. She took out the sheer white fabric she had in mind but continued her search for the perfect fabric. "Darling, do you have any allergies to a fabric?" She asked trying to avoid any mishaps, last thing a bride needed was a rash on her wedding day. Although Daylen could fix it within a hour with one of his tonics. Saira always ran to him when she needed a tonic. Rosa just smiled. "Daylen always been hard to read. He had to learn to control his emotions, I'm sure you know why." She laughed lightly, it was very obvious why. "It is very hard to upset him, I only know one person that can and that's his brother." Sirus always had a knack for annoying Daylen although Sirus did always pressed his luck with his pranks.
Daylen just smiled, it wasn't a topic he was looking at. Bad enough he needed to find a way to face her after the wedding night, children were far from his mind. Sirus giggled at the reason why she chose Daylen instead. "I know why she picked him." He said still giggling at his twin. "She was afraid he would never get married and thought this was his only chance." He burst out in laughter as his twin looked at him plainly. Their mother was probably right about that but doubt that was the only reason. "I doubt that's the only reason." Daylen replied softly, Sirus nodded as he calmed down. "Well she also figured you would be a better match for Miss Contessa. Hopefully she will help you come out of your shell and encourage you to remove your walls you built so high." Daylen just looked at his brother plainly as before. His walls were there to protect other people from suffering the same fate as their father Sirus should know that by now. Daylen turned his attention back to Edward. "I'm the only one with raw elemental abilities, I'm needed to replace the Elder of the fire element. That's why they won't stop asking me." Sirus just nodded, "Plus he always was a prodigy when it comes to brains. Graduated the Silunte Lima Academy in two years." Daylen just rolled his eyes at his brother, always bragging. |
Turning to the seamstress, Contessa shook her head. "Not that I'm aware of." she replied. "She's not allergic to any fabrics, no." her mother assured the woman. "I do understand why he keeps quiet. I guess I just really hope we can talk more once we're married." Contessa started and chuckled, remembering how Daylen would get upset with each of Sirus' pranks. "Yes, Sirus likes to take chances." she admitted. "Sometimes I wonder if Daylen will just continue to hide away even when we're married. That he'll prefer to work instead of talk, but I guess I have no problem with that, if that's what makes him happy." she said with a smile.
Edward listened and smiled, he could tell just how shy Daylen was. Two shy people getting married, he could see that getting them both to talk was probably going to take some time since they both needed to come out of their shell. He really did hope that the two of them talked though, it would make things easier for both of them. He was very impressed to hear of Daylen's achievements and smiled, "I can see now why they really want you to accept their offer. You're a very bright individual. They should really get the idea though. If you don't want to accept they really shouldn't keep trying to convince you otherwise." Edward said with a shrug of his shoulders. |
Saria just nodded to both Grace and Contessa, it was a good thing there was no allergic reactions to any fabric. She pulled out a snow white fabric, it was soft and thin but not see through. It shimmered softly at a certain angle of the lights. "My own creation, I always wanted to use this fabric on a wedding dress." She said sweetly, the fabric was very unique and with all the layering needed for the fluff, it's light texture would be perfect. Rosa just touched the fabric Saria had just dug out, she loved its texture. She wondered if it came in any other colors but that was for a different time. She turned to Contessa. "That's the best time to get him to talk. Talk while he works, he less tense than. He also loves sweets, especially homemade." Rosa just smiled in her motherly way, "His brain is constantly working fast. He needs sugar to keep up with himself most of the time. Ever notice how much sugar he uses in his teas or coffee?" She asked, she was giving Contessa a rather large advantage for Daylen. His sweet tooth was a good way to get him out from behind his walls.
Sirus snickered at the word. "Bright ain't the word I would use." Sirus just grabbed Edward's and his brother's shoulders lightly before he blinked them into Daylen's old childhood study. It was covered in dust and bits of charcoal. The room had a vaulted ceiling, it was long and rather large. One side of the walls was completely covered with framed awards and certificates. Daylen just pulled away from his brother. "Sirus stop showing off. Try bragging about yourself for once." He said plainly to Sirus. "But that's no fun, I don't have any awards." Sirus said playfully pouting. Daylen just looked at him in his emotionless stare. "You creep me out when you stare at me like that." Sirus said in his normal cheerful tone but was speaking the truth. However Daylen just continued to look at his twin in the same expression. |
"Oh wow, this is beautiful!" Contessa gasped and lightly ran her real fingers along the fabric with a smile on her face. "It feels so light, perfect for dancing. I do love this fabric very much already!" she said happily and looked over at Rosa, nodding. "Yes, he does love quite a bit of sugar in his coffee." Contessa agreed. This was really good information, perhaps she should make him cupcakes when she had the chance. "So the best time to talk to him is when he's working..." she repeated and thought about it. It seemed rude to talk to someone while they worked, but if that was the only way she could talk to him then she'd have to do just that. She would do anything to make him happy and to hear his acceptance of her.
Edward blinked in surprise when he saw the new study they were in and smiled as he examined every single award and certificate. "Very impressive Daylen." he said honestly as his eyes read them all in silence. Glancing over at them, he could see why Daylen intimidated Contessa, he didn't really talk but Contessa would learn to get used to it soon enough he hoped. She couldn't live all her life being intimidated by her husband. The wedding, it was hard to believe his little girl would be getting married really soon. It was going to be a really emotional day for everyone, especially his wife who no doubt would be crying the second she saw their daughter in the dress. |
Saria just smiled as Contessa touched the fabric, she took the fabric and set it with the roll of sheer white fabric. She turned to a drawer full of bottles of dyes and began to search through each bottle. Rosa just nodded softly. "I know it is a strange concept of talking to him while he is working, makes you feel like you're bothering him. However I can assure you that you won't be bothering him, his is more comfortable when he works." She looked at her seamstress who was happily digging through a drawer of dyes. "Seeing how we did all we could here, perhaps lunch is in order. We have allot to do before the big day. We still need to talk to the caterer and florist." She smiled remembering Dorian's garden behind the family maze. "As for a place for the wedding, I know just the place you will absolutely love." She nodded a farewell to Saria before waving her hand in the air. She transported them to a stone cobbled road, green grass trimmed the road with multiple colored of flowers layered behind it. A rather large grid tunneled the road, hanging off the large grid were vines covered with purple leaves and violet colored flowers. Vines similar with pink and white flowers striped the grid overhead, small gaps let the sun shine through the plants. "This is was Dorian's hidden garden behind Daylen's manor. I remember you said you loved gardens. Perhaps you would like to get married here, or you would prefer a church?" She asked her future daughter-in-law in curiousity. Far off on the right side you could see the opening to the maze, while the other side was the beginning of a forest.
Daylen just looked at his old framed certificates and awards then to his desk. It's been a long time since he was in here. "They're just metal and paper, nothing impressive about them." He simply stated. He didn't care for them or the titles they brought. He just read and studied to pass the time as a child. They only brought bad memories of loneliness and pain. "What about this one?" Sirus said pointing to a framed piece of paper. "You got this for your tonics that regrow any human organ or limb." Daylen just shook his head lightly. "Only reminds me of the time I severely burnt my arm off and half my body." Sirus just looked at Daylen, then pointed to another one. "And this one?" Daylen just looked at it just softly sighed. "The time I got severely burnt to the point I got nerve damaged." Sirus just looked at the frames. His brother was sure depressing at times. |
Rosa was right, it was a strange concept but Contessa decided that it was really the only way to have some sort of conversation with Daylen. Before anyone could say anything, they were no longer in the fancy shop, filled with fabrics. Instead, they were in a lovely venue. The scent of flowers welcomed them as they looked around in awe. "Oh my this is beautiful!" Grace gasped, Carolyn cooed happily and looked at the pretty flowers surrounding them. "Well..." Contessa started as she looked around, a huge smile on her face. "I was thinking of getting married at a church, but I think this could be great for the after party." Contessa explained. "What do you think?" she asked Rosa quietly. The lace was big enough to hold plenty of people, but even though this was her day, she still asked for permission.
Listening to Daylen speak of the memories each award brought, Edward frowned slightly. This was something his daughter would probably be dealing with and he wondered if when Daylen looked back at their wedding day, would it bring bad memories too? If memory served him right, Daylen really wasn't looking forward to the wedding at all when they first met him. Now he seemed to have a change of mind, he seemed more accepting of the idea but was he accepting of Contessa? "Perhaps we shouldn't be here then." Edward suggested easily. |
Rosa just smiled at Contessa, "It would work lovely as a place for the reception." She could just image the tables and buffet, maybe a dancing area. She swirled her right hand in the air and more flowers appeared in the empty places on the ground, adding to it's beauty. "I'm sure we can make this place look amazing for your wedding day." She beckoned with her hand and a few tables with matching chairs appeared, they were long and able to fit many people. "We can rearrange them to your liking." She said softly before beckoning some platters with food. "It was such a lovely day it would be a shame to waste it by eating indoors." She told them sweetly. Like Sirus, Rosa was a conjurer, though she was far more advance in her magic. "Help yourself." She motioned them to eat their fill of the food she just conjured up.
Sirus just looked at Edward, he agreed. "Yeah, I forgot he is so depressing." He placed his hands on Daylen's and Edward's shoulder before blinking them into the kitchen. Sirus' stomach was growling lightly. He looked at Daylen and smiled in a begging tone. Daylen just moved away from his brother's touch. "Stop begging, you're not a dog." Sirus just laughed at his brother. "Feed me!" He said playfully before correcting himself. "Us, feed us!" He was smiling largely as Daylen looked at his twin. "You're such a simpleton." Daylen replied before leaving to get food from the pantry. "Yay." Sirus chirped happily. "You'll love his food, your daughter will get fat from his cooking." Sirus said playfully to Edward, completely ignoring his brother's insult. |
Contessa grinned, "I love flowers, so if there are plenty of flowers in the wedding, I will be one satisfied fairy." she explained and clasped her hands happily as more flowers appeared around them. It was pretty interesting how she could do that, just like Sirus but she was obviously an expert in this. When the food appeared, her stomach growled both surprising and embarrassing her. She didn't know she was so hungry. "Thank-you kindly. I agree that this will be a lovely reception area." Grace said softly and looked at Rosa. "How many people are expected to attend?" she asked curiously as she took a seat and started to feed Carolyn who seemed to be famished. Contessa took her seat as well and ate quietly while listening to the conversation.
Edward widened his eyes in surprise at what Sirus said about Daylen's food and couldn't help but laugh. "You don't say?" he answered and shook his head. "Well as long as she likes it, I really don't mind what happens." he replied and looked around the neat kitchen. A lot nicer than his own but that didn't matter, a kitchen was a kitchen no matter how nice it looked. "I take it Contessa loved his cooking?" he asked Sirus. Edward wasn't a picky eater and he knew he'd like Daylen's cooking, he enjoyed anyone's cooking really. |
Rosa just sat down in a comfortable chair, she lightly chuckled at Contessa's flower comment. She sure did seem to love flowers, she wondered if that love would one day be directed towards her son. She place a few pieces of food onto her plate then looked at Grace. "Well no one from our family will attend for obvious reasons." She stated a little ashamed of her family. They really didn't even want to give Contessa a chance nor did they care about her words to convince them to at least try. "I only know of the four Elders. The rest of the guest I believe will be all your family." She smiled lovingly, "Perhaps Saria can be invited. She grew up with my boys. She is more my daughter then my seamstress." She smiled before taking a small bit of food, she did everything delicately even eating.
Sirus just nodded playfully. "She liked his Stir-fry." His mouth watered lightly at the thought of Daylen's stir-fry. "Best thing ever." He said still in his playful manner. Daylen returned with some ingredients from the pantry and set them down on the counter. "No. No more stir-fry this week." Daylen simply said to his twin who just pouted. He loved stir-fry, that was like taking away his left leg in his view. Daylen just washed the vegetables in the sink. "Do you have any allergies?" Daylen asked Edward softly as he finished washing off the vegetables. |
Grace nodded as she continued to feed Carolyn. "Ah yes, I almost forgot that they would be there to watch over the wedding. I would love it if Saria attended. She is making my daughter's dress, she should definitely attend." she explained. "I agree mum, I think it would be lovely is she were to attend the wedding." Contessa commented and took a bite of her food. Contessa looked over at Carolyn who was eating happily. Her mind drifted to her father and she wondered what they were doing. Did Sirus play any pranks so far? Probably but she did her best not to think about it too much. "Yes, our family is looking forward to the wedding so I'm sure they'll be able to make it." Grace said softly.
"Ah, she tried something new and liked it? That's good." he said happily and chuckled softly. "No I do not." Edward answered softly. "Oh, I'm not such a huge fan of spicy food. I'll eat it, no problem. It's just not something I usually ask for though." he added quickly. So what did he learn so far about these two? Well, Sirus is the sociable one while Daylen is the reserved one who prefers to work and apparently cooks too. He could imagine both him and Contessa cooking together, it brought a smile to his face. |
Rosa just nodded, the Elders always had to attention arranged marriages like this one. "It's not a surprised with the Elder's, however I am shocked your husband and yourself haven't attended any of the meetings." She commented but not in a bad way, more curious as to why that was. Perhaps it was a good thing after the last demand the Elders had made. She heard what Daylen was planning and found it very sweet of him, she just hope Sirus didn't open his mouth and tell his secret. She was surprised to hear that their family was looking forward to the wedding. "Perhaps it was my family that started the war. They are still bitter to this union. I for one, am glad to put an end to this ridiculous war." She said sweetly, "Besides I'm looking forward to having Contessa in my family." She waved her hand at conjured some tea for everyone except Carolyn. She conjured a child's cup of milk for her.
Sirus just nodded once more. Contessa seemed to have liked the stir-fry that Daylen had made the night before. Daylen just chopped the vegetables quickly with skills. He placed them in a pan with a very tiny bit of oil. He seasoned them with salt and pepper before placing them on the stove to start cooking. He then went to the refrigerator and took out a egg and meat. He went back to the counter before cracking the egg into a bowl and scrambling it with a fork. He took out some bread and quickly toasted it with his pyrokinesis, he crushed it into crumbs on the cutting board before dipping the meat slices into the egg then coated it with the crumbs. Sirus just watched as he started to fry the meat in another pan and repeat the process with the other pieces. "Mmm, Tonkatsu. Someone wants to make a good expression." Sirus just teased his brother as he cooked, Daylen just ignored his brother. He summoned bar stools for Edward and himself. |
"We've been meaning to attend, but my husband works and I can't leave Carolyn all alone. That, and Edward would prefer if we went together. So it would have to be on a day where he doesn't work, and if I can find a nanny for Carolyn." Grace answered honestly. Carolyn giggled happily and picked up the small cup and took a drink of the milk. "I'm looking forward to being in your family too Rosa." Contessa replied softly and smiled as she took a small sip of her tea and continued to eat, speaking after swallowing. "Mum, perhaps you could leave Carolyn with me? I'd be happy to take care of her and we all know how much she loves seeing Sirus." Contessa suggested. "True, I could do that. I'd still have to see when your father is free so that we could go." Grace replied softly. "Thank-you for this tea, it's really delicious." she said with a smile on her face.
"He doesn't need to cook to make a good impression, he already has just by being honest." Edward said as he looked over at Daylen as he cooked then looked at Sirus and took a seat on one of the barstools. "So, is Daylen the cook in the family?" he asked curiously. Already, the kitchen was being filled with the lovely smell of the meal that Daylen was cooking, it was really a welcomed smell. At least he knew that Contessa would not go hungry, that both she and Daylen would eat a good meal every day. That reassured him and caused a smile to form on his lips. |
Rosa could understand those reasons, she was just curious as to why they didn't appear, curiosity satisfied. Rosa just laughed lightly at the thought of Sirus baby sitting. "Oh I can just imagine the sugar rush he would have little Carolyn on." The both of them would be bouncing off the walls, after all Sirus was just a large child himself. Although truth be told, Sirus would make an excellent babysitter. Children just loved him. "Perhaps I'll have Daylen help you babysit little Carolyn." She told Contessa, it would give them more bonding time if their father was free this coming up meeting and could join. "We have one more meeting before the wedding. The Elder's are rushing it, I know but that's partly because of my family." She stated sadly. She smiled when she heard the compliment about the tea. "Oh you like it? Daylen genetically altered the seeds to combine my favorite herbs for tea. I never drink anything else, he did such a marvelous job didn't he?" She lightly took a sip of her own tea. Daylen was so much like his father when it came to creating things.
Sirus just smiled his goofy normal smile. "Well thats good to hear. Daylen is honest, blunt and could learn some tack but very honest." He said chuckling. "Sirus doesn't cook, he burns the house down when he does." Daylen plainly replied stirring the vegetables. Sirus just nodded in agreement. "I'm horrible at cooking." Daylen just cleaned up the mess as the food was cooking, he washed his hands before taking out more ingredients for the sauce. He used a little bit of lemon and honey for the base of the sauce. Daylen just added a few more seasonings to the sauce to finish it. It was sweet with a slight sour hint. When the food was done, Daylen made them all plates and placed it before them. Sirus conjured up some silverware and glasses with some beer. "Can't have a boy's day without liqueur...." He said playfully, he leaned over to whisper to Edward. "And strippers but I think Daylen would run if I conjured some up. What do you think?" He laughed as Daylen just placed a spoon in the bowl of sauce. He narrowed his eyes at Sirus, he was planning something. He just knew it. |
"Ohh I think that is a lovely idea!" Contessa replied and blushed slightly at the thought of babysitting with her fiance. How would that go exactly? She didn't know but she really did want to find out, and it would probably help Carolyn get close to Daylen as well since she was already so close to Sirus. "I agree, I think having them both look after Carolyn would be a great way to help them get closer." Grace started, "One more meeting?" Grace repeated and smiled. "I think my husband and I will be able to go. I'm looking forward to the meeting. I'm sure the elders are wondering why we haven't shown up either." Grace commented and grinned at Rosa's words. "A very marvelous job indeed! This tea is just perfect!" she complimented honestly as she took another sip of her tea and Carolyn drank up her milk happily. Contessa nodded and finished up her food and tea, very satisfied and full now. "That was delicious Rosa, thank-you." she said softly, with a smile on her face.
Edward raised his eyebrows in surprised when he learned that Sirus burned the house when he cooked. "Well then, that just means that Sirus is good at other things." Edward said gently and watched Daylen cook, laughing softly at what Sirus whispered. "I believe if that happened, it wouldn't end well for any of us." Edward whispered back to Sirus. If his wife found out, he'd be in major trouble, if their mother found out, Sirus would probably be in trouble and if Contessa found out, well she'd just be pretty embarrassed and upset. So yeah, it really wouldn't end well. He looked at the finished food and smiled, "Smells really good Daylen." he pointed out kindly. |
It warmed her heart hearing Contessa, she really seemed to be looking forward to spending time with her youngest son. She smiled softly seeing the blush creep along Contessa's face. "I take it you're fond of my youngest." She was glad that she made the Elder's accept Daylen rather than pursue Sirus as a candidate for the marriage. They seemed perfect for each other. She gently nodded to Grace. "Well maybe it was good thing you missed the last one. I had to have Sirus drag Daylen out of there." She simply stated before taking a small sip of her tea. She set down her cup and adjusted it to make it sit correctly facing her. 'Perhaps we should talk about this topic when Contessa and Carolyn is not here. There is something you and your husband should know.' Rosa spoke softly into Grace's head, she was telepathic in a way. Her son's hated that ability of her's it made it hard to hide things from her. If that wasn't bad by itself, Rosa was able to control people with it from time to time. She just smiled at the thanks, "Help yourself, there is plenty more. We have a lot to do today, you will need all the energy you can get. I at least want to show you the Church the di Pavia family have been getting married in for centuries." She said softly to Contessa, she knew she would like it but if she wanted another Church to marry in, it was fine.
Sirus just nodded in agreement. "It probably would end badly. Though it would be hilarious at Daylen's reaction and I bet it would be worth it just for that." He said laughing boyishly. He could imagine Daylen's facial expression if he conjured a stripper, he would have to save that for later. However Sirus didn't want to get Edward in trouble so he would behave, for now. He sat back in his chair as he looked at the food. Sirus just nodded, "Sports, I'm awesome at sports well according to Daylen at least." He lit up and smiled excitedly. "Why don't we play ball after we eat, work some of the meal off." Daylen just looked at Edward, he was wondering if he would accept his plea. Daylen just ate his vegetables silently and nodded a thank you to Edward's words about the food. He was actually liking the idea of playing ball, it's been awhile since they played. |
Contessa smiled and nodded. "I am. We have been spending some time together working on things for my garden. It's been really nice being able to work with him like that." Contessa confessed, blushing as she did. Grace gasped softly when she heard Rosa's voice in her head. Blinking, she nodded and looked over at Contessa. "A garden?" she repeated and helped herself to more tea. "Yes mum, I have been allowed to have my own little garden and Daylen and I have been working on some tonics for the plants. Later we'll start working on a watering system." she explained happily. "I'm glad deary." Grace said softly, a smile on her face. "Oh I would really love to see it! I'm sure it's beautiful!" Contessa said happily, clasping her hands together. She was looking forward to seeing the church that she would be getting married in, no one had ever mentioned it and she wondered why. Perhaps it held some sad memories?
"I think it would end very badly. Especially if anyone found out about it." Edward agreed and nodded his head. If Daylen wasn't fond of Sirus little plan, he was pretty sure that Daylen would be really upset with Sirus and as all brothers do, end up bickering about it. "Sports?" he repeated and smiled, "I think that's a great idea. It would allow me to see just how good at sports you really are." Edward answered honestly and chuckled. He himself hadn't played sports in the longest time so he knew he'd be pretty bad at it if not terrible. "I haven't played sports in the longest time." he commented and took a bite of his food, the flavors were a delicious surprise. It was no wonder Contessa enjoyed Daylen's cooking. It was obvious that Daylen had spent plenty of time practicing cooking to get this good. |
Rosa just nodded softly at her words. "I heard that you and Daylen were spending time together making tonics, Sirus is a gossip." She said smiling sweetly, "He even told me about your embarrassing moment you two shared." She said covering her mouth as she laughed at the description Sirus had given her, she couldn't help but pick on Contessa for it. "Your the first person to see him without a shirt since he severely burnt himself at the age of seven." She told her trying to lighten the mood. "Poor dear was covered in scars. The doctors had to amputate his right arm, part of his shoulder and half his left leg. He was blind in his right eye for years." She said sadly. It was very heart breaking remembering how depressed he was. She opened her purse that was resting on her lap the whole time and took out a picture of her son's at the age of seven. She place it in front of Contessa. One of the twins was horrible scarred, he was holding himself and trying to avoid being touched by the other who happily smiling for the camera. His whole right arm was gone and half his left leg, he was turnt in a wheelchair it was clear that he didn't want the picture taken. Rosa smiled softly at Contessa. She decided to change the topic back to a lighter mood. She figured that Contessa would like to know a little on why he was so distant towards people. "To a lighter note, I will be taking you there to the Church once everyone had their fill and are ready to go." She chimed sweetly.
Daylen just swallowed his food before speaking. "You might regret saying that, he should be playing professional but doesn't apply himself." Sirus just cut up his meat before drowning it in the sauce. He snickered at Daylen's words. "I'm lazy." He said completely agreeing with his twin before eating away at his food. Daylen just slightly shook his head at Sirus. His brother was something else, he never found anything insulting. He just chuckled and agreed. |
"Oh no..." started Contessa, the color draining from her face. She couldn't believe Sirus talked about that accident. Though she could see him talk about it too, he found it really funny. Grace looked at Contessa, shocked to hear that her daughter saw him shirtless. "It was an accident. I knocked but he didn't hear me and I walked in. I shouldn't have walked it but I wanted to make sure if he was okay since I know he gets upset with the pranks played on him by Sirus." she explained and frowned. Both she and Daylen were obviously embarrassed and he wouldn't like to know that Sirus was still talking about it. Contessa looked at the photo, wide eyed as she looked at Daylen and frowned. No wonder he distanced himself from people. She looked at the boy smiling and guessed that was Sirus, even at a young age he was the playful one it seemed. "Is it possible for me to...have a copy of this?" she asked quietly but nodded. "I'd love to see the church now." she said politely. Her mother nodded and took the empty cup from Carolyn's hands, placing it on the small table.
Edward dipped a piece of meat in the sauce and ate it quietly as he listened to the two. He smiled and spoke after swallowing, "I'm sure you are a very good player Sirus, and I want to see how good you really are." he started and raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Professional huh? Well then, now I really want to see how good you play." Edward said easily and continued eating quietly. |
Rosa just nodded softly, "From what I heard, it was a complete accident. Sirus played a prank on Daylen, had him soaking wet and covered in soap bubbles." She said trying to reassure Grace that it was nothing more than an embarrassing accident. Rosa was slightly shocked that Contessa wanted a copy of the photo but smiled lovingly. "You can have that one." She had plenty of pictures of her boys, she was sure she had more of that one in her manor. Rosa just stood up slowly, her purse in hand. Rosa just waved her hand and all the food and dishes disappeared. She would leave the tables for the wedding. When all of them where stand Rosa transported them to a extremely large cathedral. The walls where a classic stone white, the floors were dark stone with cherry wood steps that lead into a half circular room filled with multiple stained glass windows that lead to the beautifully decorated ceiling. Stone statuettes were place on every pillar of the arches that lead to the front door, many rows of cherry wood benches filled the empty space giving it the church like feeling. An altar rested near the opening of the circular room up the three steps. Second balcony seats peaked from the archways. Large wall candles and long candle stands placed elegantly around the room. Beautiful bouquets framing the archways and alter. Rosa smiled as she looked around, the place never changed from when she was married.
Sirus just smiled as he ate more of his food, Daylen set his plate down. He wasn't really hungry. He took a sip of the beer Sirus had conjured up. He looked at the nasty tasting liquid, he didn't want to but he swallowed it with disgust. Daylen set the cup down as Sirus snickered at his twin, when his mouth was empty Sirus spoke. "You see, he doesn't even like beer. Image his reaction if I conjured... what you know what." He said not wanting to spoil his surprise for later. That would be his prank for the day. He playfully laughed at Daylen who just looked at his twin. "Just eat your food." Daylen stated softly as he folded his arms over his chest. |
Grace nodded and smiled. Contessa was surprised that she was allowed to keep it and smiled, "Thank-you Rosa." she said and took the photo into her hands happily. When they were no longer in the garden, she looked up and gasped when she saw the church. "Oh my...!" she gasped and quickly said a silent prayer with her mother out of habit and respect. "It's absolutely beautiful!" Grace commented as she walked around and admired the lovely decorations inside. Contessa lightly ran her fingers over the white walls and admired the stained glass windows, taking in all the colors and detail. She knew it must have taken a very ling time to get all this perfectly done. Her eyes focused on the bouquets and she walked over to them like a bee would. "Everything in here is just perfect!" she said happily and hugged herself. "Oh I cannot wait! The wedding will be so beautiful!" she exclaimed happily. If her father was here he'd agree that the place was lovely. Surely all the guests would too.
Edward continued to eat his meal easily and took sips of the beer provided. He didn't drink it much, but he did enjoy one every now and then. Especially after a long day at work. "Do you like beer Sirus?" he asked and smiled. "You know, I don't drink it much actually. Just every now and then. I mostly just stick to coffee." Edward admitted softly. He was actually enjoying his time with both of them, it had been an interesting day so far. |
"Ms. di Pavia." A elderly man chimed happily as he walked from out from a corridor. "Father Sullivan, oh what a pleasure to see you again." Rosa replied lovingly to the elderly man, she gave him a soft hug and kiss on the cheek. He had been their Father for a long time. "What brings you here my child?" He asked just as softly, he was very old but was very lively still, he was dressed in the traditional clothing for the church. "I'm showing my future daughter-in-law the Church. The Elder's want her to marry Daylen as soon as possible." He just rolled his eyes at the thought of the Elders, clearly not a fan. "Always rushing into things aren't they." He said before turning to look at Grace, Carolyn and Contessa. "Isn't Daylen too young for marriage?" He asked quietly to Rosa. He just shrugged and smiled at the women. "Which beauty is little Daylen's bride?' He asked adjusting his glasses as he looked at Grace and Contessa. He was clearly a flatter. Rosa just chuckled at the old man. "Daylen is twenty-four now. Not so little anymore." He just looked at her. "Twenty -four? How can that be, he was just fifthteen last year." He stated slightly confused on where the time went.
Sirus just lightly smiled. "From time to time. I don't drink much after waking up to a very disturbing image." Daylen just looked at Edward. "He woke to a half woman, half man in his bed." Sirus just looked at his twin in embarrassment. "You didn't have to tell him that." Daylen just smirked softly at his blushing brother, that was payback for bragging about him all day. He had his stories to tell too if Sirus wanted to test his luck. "You're so mean to me Daylen." He said pouting playfully. Daylen laughed lightly at his brother. He loved watching him blush just as much as Sirus like to watch him. |
Both Grace and Contessa looked up when they heard a male's voice and smiled politely at the father walking up to the group. Daylen..too young for marriage? If he was the elders probably would have still arranged the marriage but this time it would have been Sirus instead. That's what Contessa believed anyway. Contessa raised her hand slightly, "I am, father." she said respectably. He found it hard to believe that Daylen was getting married, and honestly she did too. Contessa would always find it hard to believe that she was already getting married. It seemed way too soon but there wasn't anything to be done about it, when the Elders ordered something then everyone obeyed.
Edward finished up his food and beer and laughed softly at what Daylen said about Sirus. "Sorry, but in all honesty I would have stopped drinking all together if I woke up to that." he admitted and offered a reassuring smile to Sirus. It seemed that they both had stories to say about each other although Daylen refrained from speaking of them until he found it fitting. |
The Father looked at Contessa after she had raised her hand. "Ah, let me get a better look at you." He said walking closer to her, "These old eyes aren't what they use to be." He said laughing at his old self. "Why, you're just a baby yourself." He said with no disrespect intended. Rosa just shook her head in disagreement. "I believe that Daylen and Contessa are perfect for each other, they're right in age for marriage." He just turned to look at Rosa and smiled as she spoke. "Their hearts may not be in it for the moment but I believe they will fall in love later on in the marriage. I also believe that they will encourage each other to come out of their shells. Daylen needs a good woman like Contessa. It was why I pressed for Daylen to have her hand instead of Sirus." She softly told the Father, he smiled at Rosa. "Ah, see that is my wise girl." He enjoyed how she thought, she never rushed into things like most youth. He turned to Contessa and smiled. "Well I guess the only thing I can do is wish you luck child and pray that your hearts find each others soon." He said softly, he really did wish them all the luck in the world.
Daylen nodded in agreement, he never liked drinking and that event just encouraged him not to drink all the more. "You think it would have." Daylen softly replied to Edward. When Sirus was finished eating he conjured a soccer ball. "Just for that, let's make the game more interesting Daylen. Loser has to complete a dare no matter what it is." Sirus said smiling at his twin. Daylen just looked at him, he would lose most likely but he never backed down from betting with his brother. "Every point scored is a dare." Daylen said to his brother who lit up even more. "You're on." Sirus said getting up and leaving the kitchen. Daylen just followed him out the door and into the garden. |
