Sabine nodded and got out towels for him, leaving them on the bathroom counter. She briefly checked over the rest of her apartment before she grabbed a bunch of extra pillows and blankets, hauling them over to the couch.
Once he'd smelled all the preliminary smells, Logan made his way into the bathroom to shower. He was right, the hot water felt good.
By the time Logan was done, Sabine had changed and thrown both of their clothes in the wash, and she'd set up the couch as a bed.
"I was going to order food, but I don't know how hungry you are," she said, glancing over at him. And that was her first mistake because it took her a few seconds too long to look away again, and when she did she was blushing. |
Logan raised an eyebrow at her blush, but didn't comment.
"I'll put the order in," he said. "I'm bettin' you want a shower too." |
Sabine nodded after a moment.
"Here, order whatever you want," she told him, handing him a take out menu. "I'll eat anything from here, long as it's not spicy." |
"Got it," Logan replied, taking the menu. He looked it over, making note of anything that seemed particularly interesting.
Sabine slipped into the bathroom. A hot shower felt wonderful, and she felt much better once she emerged, her hair still dripping.
By the time she came out, Logan was stretched out on the couch.
"Take-out's on its way," he said without opening his eyes. |
"Alright, thanks." Sabine let herself eye him for a moment. "Clothes should be done soon too." She shuffled off to go check, needing to distract herself with something.
Logan just made a vague sound and didn't move. The couch was surprisingly comfortable, and he didn't want to get up.
Sabine snorted quietly at him when she found him in the same spot, but she didn't bother him. She just put his clothes within reach, and paid for the take-out when it arrived, setting it all out on the counter.
When she put his clothes down next to him, Logan reluctantly got up and went to get dressed. The couch was nice, but having his clothes back was better.
"If you think the couch is nice, the bed is better," Sabine teased when he reemerged. "Much more comfortable."
"Couch's just fine with me," Logan said, sitting down again. "Take-out any good?"
"Mmhm. Come get some, there's plenty." Sabine left a plate for him, getting some food for herself and settling in at the counter to eat. There wasn't much of anywhere else.
Rolling his eyes a bit, Logan got back up to get a plate. The take-out did smell good, he had to admit.
Sabine plopped down on the floor in front of the couch, glancing at him for a moment before turning on a James Bond movie. She figured he'd have fun with those, and she never minded watching Pierce Brosnan.
Logan just shrugged. He didn't mind Bond movies, mostly. Once he was done with his dinner, he stretched out on the couch again, hands behind his head.
Sabine had enough energy to put the dishes in the sink before she sat on the floor in front of him again. Within minutes, she was out cold, her head on his knee.
Logan blinked when he realized she'd fallen asleep.
"Really?" he muttered. Well, if she wasn't going to watch the movie... Reaching over, Logan used the remote to turn off the TV. Then he settled back on the couch. He lay there for a few moments before sighing and getting up again. Nope, he couldn't just leave her on the floor like that... Carefully, he gathered her up and put her on the couch, switching places with her. |
Sabine woke slowly, blinking a few times at the abnormal amount of light in her room. She rolled over and almost rolled off the couch, and only some desperate flailing saved her. Right. Couch. How did she get on the couch?
That line of questioning was promptly banished when she saw the nearest clock, and then she swore and scrambled over the back of the couch to dart into her room to get ready for work. |
The flailing woke Logan up, and he opened his eyes just in time to see her vault over the back of the couch. Well. That was interesting. Getting up, he parked himself on the couch again and waited to see what would happen next.
"Late, late, late," Sabine chanted under her breath, grabbing a navy pencil skirt and a baby blue button-up. She unearthed her favorite pair of heels after a moment and pulled them on as she walked out of her room. And then she paused and flushed scarlet when she saw Logan watching.
Logan raised an eyebrow.
"Oh don't let me stop you," he said. "Didn't you say you were late?" |
"Yes," Sabine said after a moment. "Um, I guess you can stay here if you want, you saw where the sparr key goes. Or if you're ready in the next few minutes you can come with me." She moved into the kitchenette to make coffee.
