That made Cameron paused.
"Oh, that is tempting," she murmured. "He'll let me into the workshop, too..." |
"Go on, go bother him," Sabine said with a chuckle. "I'll let you know when everyone else heads back."
"I'll try to make sure he doesn't blow himself up," Cameron said, grinning. "Have fun mooning at Logan."
Sabine swatted at her, turning red again. But she didn't actually respond other than that.
Tony was indeed still ensconced in his lab, but he had at least eaten some. Which was good. |
Cameron grinned and headed down to the workshop. She slipped inside quietly, making sure not to disturb Tony while he was concentrating.
It took a few minutes for Tony to notice her. And then he blinked.
"How long have you been standing there?" he asked, pushing away some designs. |
"Couple minutes," Cameron replied, going into the workshop proper. "Not long. I just didn't want to interrupt."
Tony snorted at that.
"So, what, the munchkins gone yet? Or you just got someone else to babysit them?" He perched himself on the edge of a table. |
"Sabine volunteered," Cameron replied, shrugging. "I told her she didn't need to, but she insisted." She smirked wickedly. "I bet I know why, too."
Tony perked up at that. "Oh? Why? Tell me~." Because that sounded like juicy details, there.
"Nope, that's a secret," Cameron replied, grinning. "Not gonna tell you, not yet at least."
"Aw, come on," Tony whined. "Tell me. Or I'll have Jarvis find out for me."
"Nope, no dice," Cameron replied. "Use that famous brain of yours, come on." She grinned teasingly.
"Even I need something to go off of," Tony said. "I mean, I could just start spouting things, but those tend to be wrong, or people look at me funny for those, so, y'know, not doing that right now."
Cameron snickered a bit.
"Just keep your eyes open when I drag you upstairs later for dinner, if everyone is still here," she said. |
Tony eyed her for a moment before he nodded. "Right, okay, I can do that," he muttered. "So, what brings you down here? Got sick of Barton?"
"Not so much Clint as just... Everyone," Cameron admitted as she pulled over a stool and sat down. "I figured it would be a bit less crowded down here."
"In terms of people, yes." Tony shrugged. "Can't work with too many people around, after all."
"Tony, not even you can say your robots are crowding anything down here," Cameron pointed out. "There are only three of them and you down here." She stretched a little. "A lot better than being in the living room with the kids."
Tony snorted. "Don't get me wrong, the kids are great, but I have no idea how anyone lives with that many of them on a full-time basis." He shivered. "That just seems like a really, really terrible idea."
"You get used to it," Cameron said, stretching a bit. "Sometimes it's nice to get away, though." She grinned. "I need to come and play with you more often, we can get up to the same kind of trouble. It'll be fun."
"Fun. Sure. I'll let you deal with Pep when she gets pissed, then you'll see if you still call it fun." Tony was grinning, though, and he never said no.
Cameron grinned and waved a hand.
"I can hide behind Bee, that's not a problem," she replied. |
"Hey!" Tony pouted. "Not nice, you should be nice to me, I'm letting you play in candyland, here." But he couldn't quite keep the grin off his face.
Cameron snorted.
"It's candyland for people like you, you mean," she teased. "I just get to play monkey in the middle with the robot arms." |
