Tony had scaled back his planning a bit. A bit. Not totally. He was still in the process of ordering things, though, to be delivered at strategic phases. No, he wasn't crazy for ordering things months in advance, of course not.

He did flop over next to Cam, though, tapping away at his phone to confirm a few things.

“Hey,” Cameron said as he flopped down. “You’re not still ordering things are you?”

"Making lists," Tony replied, glancing at her before looking back at his tablet.

Cameron rolled her eyes and nudged her tablet over to him.

“Jarvis uploaded everything from the ultrasound, if you want to look,” she said. Hopefully she could distract him enough to stop buying things for a little while.

Tony immediately dropped his phone in his lap and picked up the tablet, looking at the images. "Well, there's definitely stuff," he said after a moment.

Cameron rolled her eyes.

“It’s still small,” she said. She pointed at a couple of spots on the image. “That’s its head, and over here is its heart.”

"Huh." Tony studied it more closely. "It's not like any of my degrees are medical," he pointed out to her reasonably.

"I know," Cameron said. She leaned against him a bit. "You know, I'm surprised that the tower is so empty, I thought the others would be hanging around. At least a few of them." She grinned a bit. "Tower's too big for you to be rattling around in it alone."

Tony snorted quietly. "Well, I'm not currently alone, am I?" he pointed out. "Brucie's here somewhere. Dunno where Cap is, probably off with Wings and Terminator. Birbrain's on a mission right now, no idea about Widow."

"You know what I meant," Cameron replied, nudging him. "I just sort of expected people to be hanging around, that's all."

"Depends on the day," Tony told her with a bit of a shrug. "Hang around often enough and you'll see people hanging around here "

“Have you told any of them?” Cameron asked. She gestured to the ultrasound images. “About the baby, I mean.”

"Haven't had a chance yet." Tony shrugged. "Also figured I'd let you decide if/when you want people to know."

“They’ll find out soon anyways,” Cameron pointed out. “Can’t exactly hide it for much longer, and I’m going to be spending more time here now.”

Tony nodded, still looking over the ultrasound. "Alright," he agreed quietly.

Cameron noticed how quiet he was.

“Are you alright?” she asked. She leaned against him a bit. “What’s wrong?”

"Nothing. Just..." Tony was still looking down at the ultrasound. "That's ours." Sure, he'd looked at all her previous records he could get his hands on, but this was different. She had handed him this one, given him express permission. It was different.

Cameron smiled and leaned against him a bit.

“Yeah,” she said. “We made that.” One of her hands went to her belly and she rubbed the small bump.

"We did." Tony looked at her and smiled a little, quieter and happier than normal.

“And if my basic high school grasp of genetics is correct, he or she is probably going to inherit an x-gene, since not only to we both have one but it’s the same one,” Cameron added. She grinned. “Not going to lie, I think I might be disappointed if that doesn’t happen.”

Tony snorted. "Oh the kid will definitely have an x-gene of some kind," he agreed. "Doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be the same one, but there'll be one."

“There’s a decent chance that it’s the same as ours,” Cameron replied. “If we had different gifts, yeah, I’d say it would be random, but given that we have the same one, there might be a better chance of that one.”

"Better chance, yeah, but still not guaranteed," Tony pointed out. "We don't know enough about how the genetics of mutations actually work to be able to accurately predict."

Cameron rolled her eyes and settled closer to him, still absently rubbing her stomach a bit.

"Whatever you say," she said.

A week or so later, Sabine was back at the mansion. She wasn't back at work yet, despite her protests, and Logan was hardly letting her go anywhere alone outside of the mansion.
