Cameron snorted.
"He's Logan," she pointed out. She sipped her tea and sighed a little. "And I swear he forgets sometimes that he's got metal bones that the rest of us don't." |
"Wouldn't be surprised, he's so used to it." Tony shrugged. "But it works to our advantage, most of the time. Means he hits baddies harder."
"Still, it hurts like a bitch during training," Cameron replied, gingerly prodding the darkening bruise on her side.
"Oh I know." Tony winced as he hit a tender spot on the counter. "I hate Logan sometimes."
"It's good for you, unfortunately," Cameron said, shaking her head. "The training, at least. It helps."
"Oh I know. I train with Natasha, too. It does help, but it's a pain in the ass." Tony sighed. "It just hurts."
"No kidding," Cameron muttered. She drank more of her tea. "At least here you don't have to obey the no-powers rule."
"Yeah." Tony groaned a little as he refilled his coffee and then settled on the counter top. "I hope he doesn't try to pull this on you too often, this is not fun."
"I have regular training sessions," Cameron admitted. "Mostly with Jean, actually, since she's got similar powers, but she's not here. She's with the Professor in DC."
"Of course she is." Tony grumped. "Oh well. He's done, he doesn't get to beat me up again for at least two weeks, I'm saying no."
"Good luck with that," Cameron snorted. "Let me know how that works out for you."
"Oh you'll know." Tony grinned a bit. "I'll find a way to make this happen." He glanced around. "No Sabine? She normally shadows you."
Cameron glanced around.
"Huh," she said. "I'm not sure. Maybe she's just taking her time on the way back from the danger room balcony." |
Tony grinned slowly. "Must be admiring the view," he said, teasingly. Because he didn't really expect that to be the truth.
Cameron snorted, grinning a bit.
"I wouldn't be surprised," she said, smirking into her mug. |
"Wait, really?" Tony blinked. "I was just kidding about that. Does she really have the hots for him?"
Cameron shrugged a bit.
"I've just noticed some things," she said evasively. "Might be nothing." |
"Might be, might not be," Tony said with a grin. "C'mon, Cam, spill. I want to know~." Because clearly he was secretly an old gossip.
"Sorry, Tony, not our business," Cameron replied, grinning. She waved a hand and a dish towel whapped him in the face.
Tony spluttered a bit and waved the dish towel away.
"You're no fun," he grumbled. But he did drop it. For now. |
"I'm plenty of fun," Cameron retorted, grinning. "You just don't appreciate it." Finishing her tea, she sent the mug carefully into the sink.
Tony snorted. "Uh huh, something like that." He grinned a bit and sent his own mug into the sink. His mug only wobbled a little.
Cameron nodded a bit in approval. She had to admit, he was getting better at that.
"At least now we can relax a little," she said as she got up from the table. |
"No kidding. Relaxing is good." Tony stretched a bit. "You know what else is good? Food. Food is good. When is there food?"
"There's always food," Cameron replied, waving a hand towards the rest of the kitchen. The fridge popped open, and so did a few of the cabinets. "Go forage."
