Lagordir looked down at the bracelet in his hand and frowned. "We'll spend time together tomorrow. I hope so anyway. For now I think we should all get some sleep and figure things out in the morning with a clearer head and a lighter heart." he explained softly, smiling when Hope mentioned what his children liked and what Daphne's children liked. They did sounds just like their parents and that was a bitter-sweet realization. He missed Lilly terribly and he was sure that Daphne missed Thorn terribly as well. They would be together again someday but for now they would just have to try and live life as best as they could while they figured out how to get them back.
Tony looked over at Hope and shook his head, "Thank-you but you need rest too. I'll be fine really." he said softly as he washed the dishes. It was a good way to distract himself from this nightmare even if it was just for a short while. "I think we should all try to get along, especially since you all made the long and dangerous trip back here. I'm interested in getting to know you better, you seem like a kind person." Tony added, shrugging his shoulders as he continued with the dishes. Daphne smiled as she listened to her son play the flute for her. He really was talented, her future self taught him very well. The song sounded somewhat depressing but it was very beautiful either way. Closing her eyes, she relaxed as she listened to him play and took a deep breath then let it out slowly as she got comfortable on her bed under the sheets. Before she even knew it, she had fallen to sleep with a smile on her face and Lady's collar in her hand. |
Hope looked to Tony as she got up and walked over to the sink. She started drying the dishes he washed as she smiled softly at him. " Yes and you need sleep as well. You and the others need sleep far more than I do. You know I saved your....well a book the Tony I knew loved. When he was finding it hard to sleep I'd read it to him. I have it and if you like I'll be happy to read it and I'll rub your back. If memory serves me Tony always fought sleep. Unless I started rubbing his back then he was out like a light." She said softly as she smiled and laughed softly shaking her head. She put the dishes away trying not to think about anything.
Lance smiled as he walked over finishing his song and tucking his mother in. He kissed her forehead as she had for him many nights. He let the door open so there was light for her then walked to where Opal laid still sleeping. He smiled softly as he laid down beside her and gently held her slowly drifting off to sleep holding her. |
Tony looked over at Hope and blushed softly. She knew so much about him and he knew nothing about her, he felt pretty bad about that but hopefully he would learn more about her overtime. He had to chuckle though since he thought it was sweet of her to offer to help him get some sleep. "I appreciate it." he said quietly and looked at Ping. "You should be getting to sleep too Lagordir. It's been a hard day, maybe tomorrow will be easier." he said and finished washing the dishes.
Lagordir nodded and stood up. "I know, and I will." he answered. "Hopefully tomorrow I can actually think straight." he said with a frown. Hope was right, this was hard for him but it was hard for everyone not just him. Walking up to the bathroom, he took a quick shower and got dressed for bed. Passing a room, he noticed the door was open a bit and smiled when he saw Daphne sleeping peacefully. "Sweet dreams." he whispered and walked into an empty bedroom where he climbed into bed and got comfortable under the sheets, quickly falling to sleep. |
Hope looked to Ping as she smiled softly. " You should get some sleep. If you keep it up I'll use some sleeping powder on you." She said in a playful tone. " Lets finish up here and all of us get some sleep. We can figure out more tomorrow. Besides we are all tired. " She said as she smiled at Ping. " Don't worry I know you can do it. We all can. I know that if any two people belong together it's you and your Lilly. I know how much you love her. Just as much as Thorn loves Candy. So get some rest and soon we'll get everyone home safe and sound. "
|
Tony watched Lagordir leave and frowned, noticing the saddened look he had. "Poor guy.." he whispered and looked back at Hope. "Get some sleep." he said softly and smiled tiredly as he grabbed the photos and the coat then headed up to take a quick shower then walked into his bedroom and got ready for bed. Tomorrow would be a new day, and hopefully it would be a better one too. Laying down in his bed, he pulled the sheets over his body and stared up at the dark ceiling. "Well, time for some sleep..." he whispered to himself and tried to sleep but then sat up and looked at the photos. He couldn't cry, he had to be strong for Daphne. "Goodnight father, goodnight mother, goodnight Lady." he whispered and quickly put the photos away but hugged his father's coat close to him and tried to fall to sleep.

Hope went out and walked the outskirts of the city. She stayed out for quiet a while making sure that everyone they had found was safe and sound. She helped some of people find food and even help some start farming again. By the time she made it back to the house it was near sun up. She stumbled into a guest room and took a quick bath. She was startled when she saw fresh clothes waiting for her. However she looked up in time to see Opal standing in the doorway giving her a soft smile. However before she could thank her the girl was gone. Hope smiled as she changed into the new clothes and crawled into to bed. Before she knew it she was fast asleep from all her hard work.
Opal woke as she felt much better. She slowly moved out of Lance's arms as she headed downstairs. She heard the sound of running water as she followed it and found Hope's dirty clothes on the floor. She held out her hand as she said some words making clean replicas of Hope's clothes. She waited and smiled as Hope came out in a towel. She gave her a soft smile before turning and heading to the kitchen. Opal took a seat and smiled seeing her plate was left there. She paused as she looked down to her arm and removed her glove as she saw her wounds where just about completely healed. She smiled amazed with how fast her wounds had healed in such a short time. She knew it had to be Lady Candy. Candy was the best healer. Opal covered her arm once again then started to eat her meal. Once she was done she washed and put her dishes away. She got up as she headed outside. She walked around the city as she saw most of the people where sleeping. However she saw that they had already tried to start farming. These people who had lost so much where already trying to start over. This impressed Opal because she knew starting over as never ease. Opal closed her eyes as she used her power and finished the work for the people and allowed some of the crops to already come in. They had hard work to come but she had lifted a big burden off them. Opal walked to the Palace or to the Council building. It was the center of government. She walked inside as she explored it. She pulled out the book of promises as she read the rules that had established the lands. She sat it out on the podium in the center sanctum so all the people could see it. She pulled out the sacred scroll of vows along with the ink well and quill putting it beside the book on it's own podium. She then pulled down the tablets of Duty putting them on the other side of the book of promises. The tablets listed every member who ever served on Conical and their contributions. Opal updated the tablets for the survivors. She walked outside as she looked over at the training grounds and and waved her hand as she updated them and even the housing. She then put up list for enlistment. She stood between the palace and the training complex as she used her magic to make a memorial for those lost due to the current set of events. She used her magic and list of all residence to make the list. The names of the fallen made a memorial of the symbol of the City it made the symbol for Freedom, and of honor, Justice, wisdom, knowledge, and lastly hope. The virtues and beliefs that the people built the original city on. Opal smiled as she looked at it. She turned her back to the two buildings as she faced the circle that the buildings made around the area. She held up her hand as market stalls and shops appeared full and just ready for someone to claim them and to start selling the wares. Opal smiled as she looked around done with using her magic. Magic was not the answer for everything. Opal was well aware that all magic came with a price. She feared becoming like her older sister Turlium. With absolute power comes absolute corruption. Her sister was even greater at magic than opal was. She was even stronger than their mother and all the other magic users put together. However that was her undoing. Her sister had become obsessed with her magic and sought to learn every thing about magic and master her abilities. Her sister's curiosity soon turned to lust witch lead to her destruction before she even knew it. Her sister had found a hidden sanctuary full of forgotten things. However they where left behind by wicked people from evil times. The items where full of evil writings and evil views. Her sister became obsessed with them and even went as far as to challenge their parents. Her parents had banned all reading and visiting of the sight. They had went as fair as to burn it. Something however had already taken hold of her sister and made her go mad when they burned it. It awoken something dark in her. She escaped from her bedroom jail and returned to the sight after the fire. She used her powerful magic to conjure up nightmares. It was there she made The King. His real name was Lunar. He had been a royal Knight and had fallen in love with her sister. He followed her and helped her escape. He supported her and soon became corrupt with her. The two growing in power and lust for power. The two soon married and started plotting against the other rules. After a few years they had started to gain followers. In the end her sister was lost and even her sisters children. Opal knew that her sister's lust for power was wrong. She also knew her sister had fallen because she had enjoyed her power far to much for her own good. Her sister wasn't a bad person she just couldn't stay away from temptation. Opal knew that the King was targeting Lilly for the pain she had put her sister through or her sister had felt. Lilly never once objected to Ping's punishments and rulings on her learning and growing obsessions. Her sister felt their mother was weak and should have joined her in the training and should have put their father in his place. Her sister also resented the fact that their mother had banned Opal from learning any more magic than she knew and had even went as fair to use a majority of her own magic to make a arm band that kept Opals magic where it was so she could never grow or use any more. Her mother locked the books of magic away and only a few where allowed access and even then Lilly herself was with them and only let them see the books for a short period. The only magic taught was light and for good. Her sister was completely erased from records along with anything that had been hers. Their parents had went as fair to try and erase her and Heath's memory. It was for their own good. Heath had no memory but Opal was to strong for them to erase her memory. However she never told them any different to make them feel better. Opal smiled softly as she looked around. It was a good start for the people here and this would be all the magic she would use. She was tired and as her mother and Candy and even her elders always warned magic didn't make a leader. Magic was a crutch and addictive one at that. It was the easy way out, and using it didn't make you a hero. Her father had pushed her to learn other skills so she wouldn't be a ruler who ruled by magic. Her father had always told her that a real leader lead by their skills and natural abilities. They only resorted to magic as a last resort. Her father wanted instill hard work, dedication, honor, pride, truth, justice, and other morals and values that he believed was needed to make a good person not just a leader. Opal slowly walked to the training yard as she picked up one of the bows and arrows. She took aim at the target as she remembered everything her father and teachers had taught her. She released her arrow as it hit true the dead center of the target. She released another and it did the same splitting her first arrow. |
Lagordir woke up the next morning and looked around, remembering their situation. Looking down at his hand, he noticed the bracelet he had made Lilly and his heart died a little. This was going to be hard but he had to tough through it for Lilly and their children. He was sure that they didn't want to see him sad at all, but he couldn't help to feel sad with all that had happened. It had been like an emotional roller coaster. He was looking forward to today though, perhaps he would actually spend time with his children and perhaps he could learn more about them that could somehow help out with their current situation. Getting out of bed, he brushed his long hair and headed back down to the living room. He noticed no one was awake yet, but heard noise outside. Quietly, he looked out the window and smiled when he saw it was just Opal shooting arrows. She was very good at it too, he must have taught her well. Not wanting to bother her, he decided some breakfast was in order and walked into the kitchen.
Daphne yawned softly as she woke up and got ready to face the day. Leaving her room, she walked over to check on Tony who was still sleeping and smiled. Walking down to the kitchen, she noticed Lagordir was making some batter. "Good Morning Ping, may I help you make the pancakes?" she asked and grinned when he nodded. Quietly, Daphne worked on setting the table and then went to help Ping make the pancakes. "I didn't know you could cook." Daphne said to him. Lagordir laughed softly and shook his head, "I can't, but I know the basics thanks to my biological mother." he answered softly. "Do you miss her?" she whispered. "I don't. I miss my adoptive parents." he answered and fell silent. |
Opal finished with her practice as she returned home. She was silent as she walked into the house. She paused as she heard Daphne and Ping. She slowly walked into the room as she took a seat she could see this was hard for them. She herself was tired from the magic she had used and didn't feel like talking. She sat down as she pulled out a book that she had been working on. It was full of pictures of her home and the people in her life. She stared at the picture of her father, mother, and her siblings. She looked to the other page with Lance, Ashia, Candy, and Thorn as she saw Hope in the background. Opal sighed as she got up and walked over to the fridge and pulled out bacon and put it in a pan then in the oven she then found some potato's and started grading them. She then walked over to the over and started cooking them turning them into hash browns.
Lance slowly woke as he noticed that Opal wasn't beside him. He leaped from the bed as he rushed down the stairs he bolted for the the front door and paused as he smelt food. He turned as he saw Opal cooking. He smiled as he walked it and looked as he saw Candy and Ping. He smiled at them as he paused and saw the book. He walked over as he frowned softly and looked to Opal. He walked over to her as he handed her plates as the food finished and then put them on the table for everyone. He could see she was going back to her old ways and it broke his heart. However he knew there was nothing he could do to fix it. He looked over at her once the food was on plates and wrapped his arms around her and just held her. Lance was surprised when he felt her turn around in his arms and hug him back. He smiled softly as he felt her nuzzle up to him. He smiled softly as he helped her to her chair and he joined her. He smiled as he saw a smile on her lips. Maybe she wasn't going back into her shell anymore. He smiled at her as he looked up in time to see Ping and and sighed. "Good morning." he said as he looked to Candy. Ashia woke as she smiled seeing it was a sunny day. She looked around and smiled seeing Heath still asleep. She laughed as she watched him. She pulled the covers over him as she got up and headed down stairs. She could smell wonderful smells coming from the kitchen it was to nice to miss. |
"Where's Tony?" Lagordir asked. "He's still sleeping. I think he's more tired than he thought." Daphne replied softly. "What about his breakfast?" Lagordir asked. "I'll go wake hip up right now, I'm sure he'd appreciate the food." she answered and looked over at Lance. "Good morning." she said and smiled. Lagordir looked over at Opal and then at Lance, "Morning." he said quietly and watched Daphne leave to wake up Tony. While she was gone, he busied himself pouring everyone some milk in some glasses and setting the glasses down on the table near their plates. Something seemed off today, he wasn't sure what it was but he hoped it wasn't anything too serious.
Daphne walked to Tony's room and smiled as she walked inside and carefully shook him. "Tony time to wake up, breakfast is ready." she said softly and ran her fingers through her older brother's hair. At least she still had him and Ping in her life. "I know you probably want to sleep but you need to eat." she said softly. Tony stirred and yawned softly as he opened his eyes to see his little sister looking down at her. "I'm awake." he said tiredly and sat up in his bed. "What's for breakfast?" he asked. "Pancakes, eggs, bacon, and potatoes." she listed. Tony smiled and slipped out of bed, "Well then we should go get breakfast, can't keep them waiting." he commented and walked down to the kitchen with Daphne at his side. |
Ashia made her way down the stairs as she smiled seeing Ping and the others already up. " Oh this smells wonderful! Opal you always make the most delicious things. How do you feel this morning?" She asked as she walked over and took a seat beside Opal. She looked to Lance as she smiled at him. " Good morning trouble." She said in a playful tone as she saw Ping and smiled. "Morning sir! I hope you got some sleep. I have a feeling today is going to be very eventful!" She said warmly as she looked to Opal and saw the book. "Opal you shouldn't look at such things. You heard what Hope said. We have to believe in hope and that we are going to succeed. Besides I believe in you! " She said softly as she saw the picture of Opal's sister and frowned as she saw the look in Opal's eyes. "Opal it's ok your not the same person. I take it you've used some of your magic to help the people here haven't you? Why don't you show it to us once we are done with breakfast. " She suggested as she looked at her friend.
Lance shook his head trying to get his sister to shut up. He was afraid that if she kept pushing Opal she would go back into her shell again and wouldn't speak to them again. He missed her sweet voice and her laughter. He hung his head as his sister kept talking. He looked to Opal though as he watched her smile again and then speak. It made him smile happy to see that she wasn't going to shell up. He sighed as he looked to Ping and then looked around noticing that they where missing two others besides Tony. " Hey where is Heath and Hope?" Opal turned her head as she smiled at Ashia. " I'm doing much better thank you. Candy really is gifted isn't she? I know your right but I worry. I don't want to end up like my sister either. She was so gifted and she broke Heath and my fathers heart. You see Heath was closer to her than me and he loved her. She was everything I'm not. She was the one who taught Heath how to fight and the two where born only a year apart. So the two of them were very close. Father adored her she was his favorite." Opal said as she smiled softly and turned hearing what Lance said. " Oh please don't wake Lady Hope. She just laid down for sleep. She stayed up the entire night to keep a eye on things. We can put her food in the oven to keep pest out and she can eat it once she gets up. " Opal offered as she smiled warmly. She smiled looking back to Ashia. " Your right on everything. I did use some of my magic. Father and mother always said that magic is a crutch and not to use it unless you just have to. Father told me that magic doesn't make a good ruler it makes a coward. But I felt that using what I did was necessary to help everyone here. The people last night had already started plowing and farming so I helped them with that. I believe that if people try then it's ok to help them. I also went and got the Palace ready for government. I have a few other surprises. " She said as she smiled and looked at the food. She then looked to Ping and smiled warmly. " Thank you very much." |
Lagordir listened to all that was being said but he didn't say anything. Apparently he had another daughter and opal was saying she was his favorite. That upset him more than it should have and hearing Aisha say it would be an eventful day, he hoped she was wrong. "What are you thanking me for?" he asked and stood up after drinking his milk. "I'm not hungry, Daphne, Tony may we talk upstairs, away from the kids." he muttered and didn't wait before practically storming off to his own room. Daphne frowned and looked at Aisha then at Opal. "One should really think before they speak, something tells me that you upset your father Opal." she said and looked at Tony."Come on, let's go check on him." she said softly and took Tony's hand before walking up to Lagordir's room and entering.
Tony closed the door behind them and leaned against it. "What's up Ping?" he asked, seeing the elf sit on his bed. "Can you believe what Opal said, she obviously isn't having a good day today. How could she say what she said and then put on a smile for me? Does she think I'm stupid? Apparently she thinks I don't like her, maybe she's her mother's favorite...I don't know. I don't particularly like to hear my future life. I just...that comment bothered me more than it should have." Lagordir explained. "Kids will be kids, they say stupid things that they don't mean. If you don't like it you need to scold your kid." Tony suggested. "That's the thing, she's not my kid. She's my daughter in the future...right now we're complete strangers and I don't think yelling at her is going to help. She is obviously feeling very bothered about it all. If this is her attitude in the future it's no wonder we're never close. Heath doesn't seem to be troublesome, which is probably why he and I get along very nicely." Lagordir muttered. Daphne listened and sighed softly, "I knew that would upset you and I am sorry. Perhaps she feels that talking about it will help her somehow. All I know is that you should not hate her Ping. Yes she isn't your daughter right now but she will be in the future and maybe if you try to get along with her now you will have a better relationship with her in the future." Daphne explained softly. She knew this was hardest on him since it was his love that had caused all this, their children needed to be more sensitive to their feelings, especially with Ping. Although Thorn was helping with this mess too and that thought made it hard for her to do anything but she was trying her best to stay positive, something which obviously was harder for Ping to do and she understood. "Come now, we need to eat. You don't need to eat all of it, just a potion will be fine." she suggested kindly. |
Lance shot up as he saw the face Opal made. "Opal it's..." Before he could get anything out Opal stood and turned opening the front door and leaving them. He looked to Ashia who looked down at the table not wishing to say a thing. Lance felt his temper rise as he stormed off after Ping and the others. He busted into the room and didn't look sorry at all. "How dare you speak as if you know her!" He said as he glared at his own mother. " You don't know a thing so don't you dare say "One should really think before they speak, something tells me that you upset your father Opal." Lance said glaring at her. " You don't know the girl and you sure as hell don't know her father. Your suppose to be these great leaders and you are nothing like that. You are just immature teenagers who don't even have basic manners down or any tolerance for others. " He said as he cut his eyes to Ping. " Because you get up set you don't storm off. And you," He said looking back to Candy. " Are suppose to be the model of manners and grace. You don't but your nose into things you don't know about. How dare you say such things." He said as he crossed his arms trying to keep his own clam.
" You can get mad all you like Ping or hot heat or whatever you want to be called. But it wont change the future nor the here and now. If she made you upset with what she said you wait and ask her about it in privet and find out why she said it. You don't blow up and act like a child. I'm starting to think our future is dead if your what we are here to save. As for your Son don't think he's and angel. " Lance said as he threw the book Opal had in the middle of the room on the floor. " Go ahead and read it. Opal is right you favor Heath and her sister Turlium. You see The King was the work of your daughter Turlium. Turlium and Heath where born a year apart and grew up together. Turlium was adventitious stubborn, hard headed, beautiful, graceful, spirited, the compleate opposite of Opal except they both share the ability to use magic. Turlium had you under her little spell until you found she was the one casting evil spells. You see she was gifted with magic very gifted. She put Lilly to shame. This women that The King has mad can't compare to Turlium's magic. You couldn't believe that she would do such a thing so you just banned her from it. But power is addicting it's funny that way. She became obsessed with her powers wanting to further them. She ignored your ban and went back to where she found the dark things. One thing lead to another and in the end the darkness took her over and you finally had to kill her to stop her. " Lance said as he frowned. " So here is where Opal speaks the truth about you rather you like it or not. Because of what happen to Turlium you banned Opal from using magic and stopped her training in it. You forced her to train like a knight instead. You never took her to dances like you did her sister, you never did a tea party for her, and you never gave her a birthday party like you did her sister. She never received any of the fancy gifts like you always gave to Turlium. In fact you barely even spoke to her. If you spoke to her you gave her commands and told her she needed to practice more she was to weak. I have watch Opal die day after day because you couldn't accept her. Because your heart never stopped morning Turlium. You heart was full of pain, anger, bitterness, sorry the sickness that eats you from the inside out. " He said as he open his eyes and peered down at the book. " Turlium was never that great. She was manipulative and hated Opal. She did everything to make sure you would never see Opal. It worked because you never gave Opal a chance to be herself. You told her what she was going to be and wouldn't let her be anything else. Opal is sweet and kinda and she would rather heal than kill. However you didn't care you where going to make her a killer rather she liked it or not. Opal hates fighting but you put her in combat. Opal wanted to dance and be a lady so you took her room from her and put her in the royal guards making your own daughter a stranger in her own kingdom. Opal is very sweet and what she said wasn't meant to hurt you. She doesn't see you as her father because your not him. You have no reason to be upset. If anything change it now. Opal stopped talking on her fith birthday you missed and she spent the entire day crying. The sweet girl I had met who only wanted to help people died that day. I have never heard her speak or so any emotion till we got here. And what's sad is she misses the man that did all of those things to her. That's why I have admired her always. She always had hope that her father would wake up and see she was just as wonderful as her sister and love her like she had saw him love her sister before he lost her. Before she stopped speaking I asked her why she put up with everything. " Lance said as he laughed and shook his head." She told me because he was a man and he was hurting and that when the pain stopped he would love her. She told me the father she knew would always keep his promises and adored his children. Opal told me that when he did he would teach her to dance like he promised and would take back all the mean things he said. Even when he told her that he heated her. Opal said he didn't mean it because she just reminded him of her sister. You think Heath is some savor but neither of you love Opal for Opal. You never invited her to anything you did even for family birthday or holidays. Opal came home with me and spent her time with the other royal guards that became her family. The poor Queen did everything to try and make you love Opal for Opal but your lashing out in anger even went to her. You stopped spending time with her and rarely spoke to her. So soon the Queen started coming to our home for holidays. Your future self's grief is what lost the one thing you loved more than anything your family. And your son is just like you. " Lance said as he laughed softly. " He forced Opal to come and he has been forcing her to use her power to brink of exhaustion. He is pushing her to hard and soon her body will shut down. Opal hasn't had the training her sister did so she can't stop the kick back from using magic. None of us know how to help none of us where trained and the only person who might is now a crazed power hungry witch like her future daughter. Oh and lets talk about your perfect son. " Lance said it was easy to hear the disgust in his voice. " Your son has a ego disorder. He rushes into things without thinking and ends up getting others killed or injured. In the last few times he has got us captured, my sister almost killed, me almost impaled, and Opal as Candy saw poisoned. He has some need to prove himself to a dead man. He wants so bad to be the king you where and in all honesty I wasn't very impressed with your later years. Really not that far off from The King we are after now. He has the same sickness that got your future self kill in him. It's clouding his judgment and making him not a fit leader. His poor choices are starting to add up. He lost his hand last time. He has almost lost his life twice now. If he doesn't learn to forgive himself he is going to get everyone of us killed and himself. You have that same sickness in you now. I see it in your eyes you look just like the king did before he died. " Lance said looking at ping . " The sickness that is talked about was not brought by humans it was reviled by them. We have always had the sickness every being that lives has it at some point. When the humans came thought it made the sickness in us more apparent. That's why many blamed them. The sickness is, greed, lust, power, corruption, sorrow, anger, and grief when you let it take you over. All of your are letting those thinks take over your soul. You can never win if you do that. I believe in myself and in my friends. I still believe in Heath. Before the lose of his beloved sister Heath was a amazing friend and brother. He and opal where inseparable. He would do anything to make sure she was happy and safe. He was a brilliant strategist and on the road to being a amazing king. However just like his father grief took over his soul and he has fallen from glory. " Lance said as he looked to Tony, then to Candy, then back to Ping. " Your not our parents you haven't made their mistakes yet. So don't take things personal. If you do then this mission will fail. If you don't like what is said then change it. I honestly don't like this version of my parents. My mother would have never said what you dared to say. My mother is wise beyond her years. She is kind and she would have put PING in his place instead of just siding with him. My mother would have had the same talk I'm having with each of you. She would have been harder on her younger self I'm sure. And disappointing beyond words. Right now we, and I mean us kids are more adults than you are. People die everyday, it's apart of life. It's time for you to get up and stand. Stop morning and do something! IF you don't more people are going to die! It sucks to lose the ones you love but your alive so that means you get up and put your sadness away and fight because that is what they would want you to do. These people out here need leaders not children. Stop mopping and getting upset over stupid crap already. You have a hundred plus people out there who need guidance. They need leaders. And as for you Ping grow a pair already. If you love Lilly then stop this none sense. Help your people do what she can't. It's hard I know but crying about it isn't saving her. If you don't save her soon Lilly will vanish and you'll be stuck with this monster. That women isn't Lilly. Lilly is trapped right now and can't free herself. She is waiting on you and wondering why you haven't come. I'm sure she's wondering if your going to leave her like you did before. Because that monster is telling her every moment your here that you abandoned her and that your weak and a coward. And right now your proving it. Prove the monster wrong get up and be a leader. " He said as he looked to Candy. "As for Thorn he would expect you to be helping the people he adores. Help them teach them that's what he would do. Honor him by doing what he would do and what you can do. And as for him I'll handle him when the time comes. I owe my father that. I believe in him more than any other person besides my mother. My father is a good man and I know that deep inside the darkness that has him that man is still there. As long as there is a shred of hope I'll keep fighting for him. " Lance said as he looked to the floor. " I'm going to find Opal. Do what you wish with what I've told you. Read the book it will tell you what happens to the other daughter and how the King came to be." He said as he turned and left them running outside trying to find Opal. |
Lagordir looked over at Lance and quickly stood, wrapping his arms around Daphne and holding her close as she shook in his arms, crying. "You don't come in here and yell at your mother!" Ping yelled back and handed Daphne over to Tony who held her close in his arms, trying to get her to relax. "Look, I know I'm not her father, but that doesn't mean she can just talk about me however she wants thinking I'm not going to take it personally! Ping hissed. He listened to what Lance said and picked up the book only to toss it to the floor and shrug. "I'm not reading that. I don't need to read that. I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to protect what few friends I have and to get back Lilly and Thorn. You can hate me all you want, but I suggest you stop talking about Heath because he's done nothing wrong. He's not even here to defend himself which makes you nothing but a coward." Lagordir commented. Hearing Lance he glared, "I AM NOT WEAK AND I AM NOT A COWARD!" he yelled and punched the wall. "I need to go talk to Opal, I'm not reading that book. I'm going to look for opal then I need to go back to my place and start making myself some weapons, we really need to move out and do something, we can't be standing around here anymore. If you both want to stay that's fine but I need to go." Lagordir commented and left his room to look for Opal.
When he found her outside, he noticed Lance was with her and he groaned but approached them anyway. He walked over to her and sighed softly. "So I apparently don't like you?" he asked and shrugged. "Alright. Look if you don't want to fight then don't. You want to sit around and heal people like Daphne that's fine, I really don't care opal. I'm not your father and you're not my daughter. I have no idea who you are. All I know is that if I was your father I would want you to do whatever it is that makes you happy. If dancing and tea parties make you happy then go dance and attend a tea party. I don't need to hear you complain about the future me. I'm going through enough right now and don't need you to add to it all. If you don't want to fight then stop using that bow, get back inside and practice healing magic. I don't want you picking up a weapon now because you're not a fighter. You can't be something you clearly don't want to be okay? So go on and be happy doing whatever it is you want." he muttered and left back inside to wake up heath. "Heath wake up, you need to eat something." he said softly and walked back down the stairs and to the living room to sit with his friends. "So what do we do?" he asked. Daphne dried her tears and looked at Lance. "Do not compare me to your future mother because that's not me! I'm just learning things and I just went through a real traumatic experience! I know you all went through hard times to get here and that's fine I understand, but that doesn't give you the right to treat us however you want! If we wanted to be treated badly we would still be back there working for the queen!" she yelled as her voice cracked. "Whoa stop right there dude. You don't tell my little sister what to do, okay?" Tony said seriously. He didn't get mad easily but when he did he threw punches. He took Candy and sat down with her on the couch in the living room, thinking about what had just happened. "He's right, Ping is. We need to move, make weapons and have some sort of plan. The kids really aren't helping with the situation so I'm with Ping on this, we need to move." he explained. "We don't have a plan, so leaving would be dangerous. Unless we can get to your house Ping and conduct a plan there?" she suggested and smiled. "What about the kids?" she asked. "They can stay or follow, I don't care, I have someone to save and so do you Daphne so we need to focus on them as our primary goal." Lagordir instructed. |
Lance said nothing as he stood there giving up on the adults. He waited as he watched a flash appear in Opal's eyes .Before he could grab her she was gone. He sighed as he shook his head and headed down stairs. He didn't bother to talk to the others they where useless and no help. He honestly didn't like his parents at least his Mother. He didn't see any sign of the mother he knew. And ping was insufferable. Lance was ready to kill him himself. He really was a arrogant fool. He hurried once again to find Opal as he called for Ashia.
Ashia looked up from the kitchen table as she frowned hearing the yelling. She shook her head as she walked to where the others where. " I'm sorry for all of this. We will save the others on our own." She said as she looked to her necklace. She ripped it from her neck as she threw it to the floor. It was starting to disappear. She stared at it in horror as she stared at her hands she was starting to fade. The colors in her out fit where starting to fade. " No....I'm disappearing. We're to late." She said as she heard Lance call for her. She looked at the others as cracks formed in her face and body. We're to late. I'm sorry to disappoint." She said then suddenly burst into pink dust as it scattered on the floor. Hope woke as she heard the nose coming from the house. She slowly stumbled to the room where Ping and the others where. " What is going on? Is someone attacking the shield? I'll have my bow out in like ten minuets and join in the fight I promise." She said trying to wake up. |
"We cannot just leave them behind, but do you think they will be okay with leaving?" Daphne asked.
Ping shrugged, "I don't know, we can ask them but if they want us to act then I need weapons and the only place I know where we can get weapons is by going to my place and having me sit at the smithing table to craft everyone some sort of weapon. Opal doesn't like to fight so she and you can be the healers while everyone else fights. I'm sure you don't mind fighting do you Tony?" he asked. "I don't really like to fight but I don't avoid a fight if it's really necessary. It takes a lot to make me angry but when I do, I like to throw punches." Tony explained as he fixed Daphne's hair softly. "I'll talk to them for you since you both are shooken up and this needs to be addressed in a calm manner." he pointed out . "Lance is right, we can't just cry all the time, crying will get us nowhere. We...we need to act and act fast because we only have so much time before this nightmare become permanent." Daphne said and looked over at Hope. "Attacking the shield?" she repeated and raised an eyebrow. "This is bad. We don't have any weapons." she whispered and looked at Lagordir and Tony then looked out the window. "We need to do something!" she whispered and looked over at Aisha, her eyes widened when all that was left was pink dust. "Oh no...oh no no no...." she gasped and looked back out the window. "We need to fight now!" she hissed. "We need to get moving." he said and walked to the living room window and looked for the source of the attack but it was hard to see from inside. "Maybe she was right, maybe we are too late. Doesn't mean we're going to stop trying though." he said as he put his hair up in a ponytail and sighed softly, Lance was probably going to kill him when he found out that Aisha turned into dust. |
Opal stood outside of the shield bow in hand as she took aim at the army of men that had come. Opal let all her emotion fuel her as she took aim at Thorn himself. " To take down a kingdom you take down the leader." She said as she stared right at his chest. Opal pulled back on her bow as the men laughed at her. She let her bow go as her arrow shot true and nailed Thorn in the right shoulder sending in to the ground screaming from pain. She quickly reloaded and started picking off men one after another. She used her magic to shield herself as more reinforcement appeared.
Lance suddenly broke through the shield as he leaped forward drawing his sword as he blocked attacks from hitting Opal. He watched her and smiled. She was reliable as ever and her mark was deadly. He quickly pushed forward and started engaging some of the men in combat. He quickly cut through the first line as more appeared. He kept his on slant up as he heard a familiar battle cry. He looked up in time to see Heath appear out of thin air and slammed his hammer down sending the entire army back from the shock waves it caused hitting the ground. He quickly lunged forward taking advantage of the situation as he took out another entire line. This time no more reinforcements came. He looked to Heath who grinned and gave him a wink. Lance quickly leaped in the air as Heath slammed his Hammer again causing massive pillars of earth to shoot up around the army impaling some. Heath was nothing to sneeze at he was a worthy opponent. Lance went right for his father as he saw him getting up still trying to fight. He slammed his own blade into the shoulder where the arrow stuck out making Thorn scream louder from the pain and sending him to the ground. He let go of his sword and held it with one hand as he rared back his free hand then punched Thorn as hard as he could square in the Jaw sending him to the ground and out for the count. Heath used his hammer to finish off the rest of the army with the help of Opal. He was proud of her she killed more than he could count with her arrows. He smiled at her as he looked and saw that Lance had knocked out the Thorn of this time. Heath wanted to ask why he had been teleported to the battle but he had some pink dust in his hair and knew it had to be the work of Ashia she must have known they needed help. He smiled as he walked over and helped Lance pick The knocked out Thorn up and dragged him along behind them as they entered the shield. However before they could go anywhere Opal joined them and transported them to a strange house. He looked at it and to opal. " It's Ping house." She said blankly as she turned and seemed to vanish. He could tell by her actions something happen and it wasn't good. " Do I even want to know?" He asked as he looked at Lance who looked to the ground. |
The three watched from inside seeing as how they didn't have weapons of their own. It was hard to watch but Lagordir was very impressed that the children were this strong already. "Their parents taught them well." he said and sighed softly. Tony had to hold Daphne back when Thorn cried out in pain. "He needs medical attention." Daphne stated. "I know Daphne, but be patient please. They'll bring him here when all of this has passed." Tony assured and winced slightly, the kids were showing no mercy it seemed. When the kids managed to defeat the small army, Daphne quickly ran out to meet up with them but her eyes widened. "W-wait!" she cried out as Opal and the rest vanished. Daphne looked back at Ping and Tony. They followed her outside and Ping sighed. "I think Opal is doing this on purpose to get back at me." Ping admitted and frowned."We'll find them. First let's go to my place where I can make us each a weapon and then we can go look for them. They can't just take Thorn away from you. Not sure why Lance didn't stop her but I'm too upset to bother fighting with them. Let's go. My house isn't far from here." he said but back walked into Daphne's and Tony's house since he remembered that Hope had gone to get her weapon but he hadn't seen her come down again. "Hope? Hope are you still here?" he called out.
|
Hope came back out with her weapon as she looked around starting to wake up. "I was asking if there was an attack I really didn't know if there was or not. " She said wondering what on earth was going on with everyone. She watched as the children vanished. She sighed hearing the others wishing she could shut everyone up. " They didn't hear you to begin with. They haven't stole anyone. Please clam down before I kill all of you. I just woke up people. They are Ping's house. Look there is a glow coming from it. When Opal transport people a slight glow lingers after the teleport. Please stop with all this drama. The kids are doing their jobs." Hope said hold her head with her hands as she stumbled her way to Pings house leaving the others just wanting some peace and quiet. She wanted some sleep and for people to stop with all the drama.
Hope looked down at Thorn as she looked at Heath and Lance. " Where is Ashia?" She asked as she looked around. She didn't see any signs of her. " I know I want to kill everyone here because you are all acting like wild animals. But Ashia has never left on her own before it isn't like her." Hope said as she bent down looking at Thorn. " Well you didn't kill him but you did injure him. I guess we'll take what we can get. " Lance and Heath both looked at one another haring what Hope said. They both hung their heads knowing she was right. However being nice was hard with their younger parents. They where so weak and nothing like the parents they knew. However Heath had to agree with Hope and so did Lance would try and get alone with the others. Lance and Heath both looked at each other hearing Ashia's name. " She's not with you? No?" The two said to each other at the same time as they looked to Hope. Neither of them knew where Ashia was. They peered down at Thorn and nodded they had Thorn. He may be out cold at the moment but they had him. |
Lagordir didn't say anything, he just motioned for Tony and Daphne to follow him over to his house. It wasn't that long of a walk and when they reached his house, he frowned as a wave of emotions and memories came over him. Opening the door, he noticed everyone standing around and then looked over at Thorn who was wounded and on the floor. "I'm assuming you didn't kill him, that's good." he said softly. "Excuse me." he said and walked up the stairs to his room. It was just the way he had left it. Only a lot more dusty of course, but everything was there. Opening the drawers, he pulled out some gems, and photos then picked up his bow and quiver full of arrows.
Daphne looked down at Thorn and knelt down beside him, letting her fingers run through his hair for a moment. "I should tend to his wounds, they're not serious thankfully." she whispered to Tony who sat beside her. "You did this once before when you were just starting so this shouldn't be difficult for you." Tony reminded with a smile. He just hoped that everyone would try to get along. If they had nothing nice to say, he hoped they didn't say anything at all. |
Hope looked at everyone as her head pounded. " If any of you make anymore drama I'll kill the person who started it." She said looking to the kids then to Tony and Candy. " Be careful remember he isn't the person you know anymore. If he wakes up take a frying pan to his head. Candy he wont remember you and will try and kill you. You need to be prepared for that. " Hope said knowing this was going to be hard for her. "I'm going to sleep. " She said as she found a chair and curled up in it drifting off to sleep. She was to tired to do anything else.
Lance looked at Hope and could see she was exhausted he walked over and put his jacked around her as he looked to Thorn. He felt bad for having to knock the man out but it was the safest way. Lance turned as he saw Heath had vanished. He turned his head as he felt something off. He turned and left not saying a word as he vanished going to investigate what had happen. The Queen let out a scream as she threw several men through the palace wall. Her eyes glowed with anger from hearing what the cowards before her had to say. They had managed to escape the battle but let the others die and fail. She was enraged that her Thorn had not returned to her. She now apparently had new enemies. She let out another scream as she burst into the King's room. " Where is he? You did this didn't you!" She yelled at him. The man sat in his over sized chair as a wicked grin appeared on his lips. "Now Now, I have done nothing my dear. I'm innocent on this. But if you wont him back I can tell you how. There is a girl here with white hair who wields a staff like you. If you take her heart you'll never have to worry about anyone harming you again. You would gain her power and become unstoppable. Luckily for you I have already got her attention. Follow me my dear. " The king said as he got up and lead her to the secret rooms below the palace. Darkness could be felt from every corner of the secret rooms. It made the Queen feel a little scared she didn't like that feeling. The Queen froze as she saw a young girl trapped in a glass looking orb in the middle of the room. The girl looked very weak. " This is the child of your enemy from a different time. You see my dear I come from a different time and place. A place where you are weak. I came back to make you strong. This child served her purpose. I used her magic start drama within your enemy's camp. You see you and I nor anyone but those with pure hearts can enter the new city that was built. However when you get the white hair girls heart you will be unstoppable. You can make the ones who stand up to you vanish for all entirety. " The King said as he saw the hesitation in the young women's eyes. "Hesitation I see? So your going to disappoint me again? Look at all I've done for you. I made you powerful and gave you things that other would kill for. All you have to do is rip a spoiled brats heart out. Is that to much to ask? " He said knowing it would get under her skin. Remember the coward who left you and guess who he is with now? Oh none other than that human witch. Doesn't it make your blood boil? Now they've taken your Knight. That human witch is going to have her way with him. Your not going to allow it are you? " The king ask seeing the young women's temper rising. " Good girl now why don't you get ready for our guest. The white hair girl will be coming for this one. Out of the group she's the only one who knew the Ashia I sent was just a magical double." |
"Go get me a frying pan." Daphne whispered as she carefully started to tend to Thorn's wounds. "Oh Thorn, I'm so sorry all of this is happening and you have fallen into the wrong side. I know this isn't your fault though, we'll make this better. We will try to anyway." she whispered and looked up at Tony when he returned with a frying pan in his hand. "How long do you think this nightmare will last?" she asked her brother. Tony shrugged, "A very long time Daphne. This is a major war we're in, and you know wars can last years before they reach an end." he said quietly. Daphne frowned and looked back at Thorn as she continued healing his wounds.
"Where is everyone?" Lagordir whispered when he came back and noticed that only Daphne and Tony remained with an unconscious Thorn. "They left but they didn't say anything." Tony answered softly and looked at Ping. "Are you okay with being here?" he asked. Ping nodded, "I'll be fine. I know they're dead, and I've started to move on." he said quietly and looked out the front window as he locked the front door. "I should start making weapons, hopefully I can." he said quietly and walked outside to the smithery and sat down where his father would be sitting. He would start with something small like a dagger, hopefully he'd be able to make one. |
Heath followed Ping as he watched him. He walked over and handed the man his hammer. " Here you could use this if you like. How can I help? Do you want me to go in the house with the others?" Heath asked wondering what Ping needed.
Thorn slowly started to wake as his head pounded his shoulder was killing him. He reached up and grabbed someone's hand as his eyes slowly focused. His eyes narrowed as he saw a human girl. " Get away from me ." He spat as he pushed her away finding that he couldn't move. He cursed as he laid back and frowned looking around. " Where am I? " He said not recognizing the place. He felt odd being in the strange place. Something in him knew this place and something in him didn't want him being mean to the human girl. He sighed as he found himself apologizing to her. " I am sorry, I see you where only being kind. Why are you being kind? I thought your kind wanted all elves dead?" He said softly. |
Lagordir dusted off the place to start to work and looked up when he heard Heath's voice. "Hey...thanks." he said quietly and smiled. "You did great work in that fight you know. Very impressive." he praised and sighed softly. "I think we need to have weapons to fight when we decide to face the bigger army. I personally have never made a weapon in my life. My father was in charge of that, I was in charge of the smaller things so I am hoping I can make something." he said and thought for a moment. "You can help if you want. By the way, do you know where the others went?" Ping asked curiously.
Daphne blinked and gasped when Thorn woke up and pushed her away. "Sir Bow please relax, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm a nurse, my job is to help you." she said and looked at Tony as he raised the frying pan. "Tony stop, he's not hurting anyone so there's no need to knock him out." she said and turned her attention back to Thorn. "You are in one of my friend's house. Some humans hate elves, and some elves hate humans, it is an ongoing battle that hopefully will end one day. I do not hate elves. I've seen that elves are some of the kindest people I have met." she explained and cleaned up any blood that would spill from removing the arrows. "I apologize if it hurts." she said softly and looked at Tony. "Hand me the gauze to patch him up." she whispered. Tony nodded and opened her small box and pulled out the gauze. Handing it to her, he watched as she wrapped it around Thorn carefully to stop the bleeding. "There you go, you must be careful, we don't want the wounds to start bleeding again." she instructed. "Would you like to sit on the couch? My brother and I can help you." she asked and smiled softly. He didn't know who she was, and she was okay with that. |
Heath smiled as he heard Ping. " Making weapons is easy. Making jewellery and finer things is harder." He said as he walked over and found a good piece of metal and started heating it up. He kept the fire hot and waited till the metal was red and glowing before pulling it out and putting it on the anvil and then took his own hammer and started to pound the metal. " As for your other question I don't know. If I know Lance witch I do he is out looking after Opal or any soul in need. He really is a good guy sometimes I hate him for it. He always wants to help others. I dislike him sometimes because he has the courage I lack to do things. But I want tell him that. Our arguments keep both of us on our toes. I wouldn't worry about Lance or Opal. Those two can take care of themselves. I'm sorry for everything that has happen to you and your friends. " He said softly as he frowned thinking about the pain they must be going through. " I hope Miss.Candy will forgive us for knocking out sir Thorn. However Lance had the right idea. Thorn would have killed us just as his men where trying. " He said softly as he pounded the metal harder. He paused as he used a pair of tongs and picked up the now long metal and put it back in the fire till it glowed again and went back to pounding it.
Thorn looked at the human woman and then to the male human as he was going to speak. He then saw her the elven lady that had given him so much trouble. " You witch I should kill you for what you tried to do to my King!" He spat out as he stared at Hope. He glared at her as he watched her eyes cut to him for a moment scaring him as he tried to back up seeing the look she gave him. He wasn't expecting what happen next as the frail women walked over and picked him up by the throat and threw him to the couch as she knelt down to eye level with him and spoke in plain elvish. He stared at her and nodded as he looked to the human women that Hope pointed at and then to the human male she pointed to. He was honestly surprised by her. The only other person who had every scared him like this was the Queen herself. His eyes widen as she pulled out a dagger and put it to his neck and cut his neck making him scream in pain. He stared at the elven women who just glared at him then pulled Candy to her as she spoke in ancient Elven forming a bond between them. He stared in horror as the women whipped his blood on the females face making symbols then cut the girl as she took some of the girls blood and did the same to him. Suddenly green magic surrounded him as he screamed out. As it faded he felt heat and rage at her. He went to lunge at the human girl but found he couldn't. He glared up at the Elven women as he demanded to know what she had done. "In lore our kind could bind to others. But only the keepers of the land could do so. Unfortunately for you my weak and stupid friend. I am one such keeper." Hope said to Thorn as she laughed and grinned at him. " You can hate me all you want but let me tell you what just happen. You see this lovely angel here has been caring for you. From this day forward you can't harm her even if you want to. You are protector and even if you hate her till your dying day she is the one you will protect from this day forward. As you just witness your body will not harm her. Witch means when I cut that damn man's head from his neck and make that evil man pay for all his deeds all you will be able to do is stand beside her and watch. You coast me more than you know saving that man from my poison. I didn't forget." Hope said as she looked to Candy and smiled softly. "Go take a shower if you like. I'll watch him. He isn't going anywhere. Besides you are perfectly safe now around him. Concerned him your new lap dog until we break this curse. You can command him to do anything within reason. Sadly this wont bring back his memories but it will solve a few issues. " She said as she looked back to Thorn and grinned. " I almost feel bad almost." |
Lagordir chuckled. "Really? I find jewelry and smaller things to be easier for me to make. I guess it's because that's what I started on. I never had a chance to start on weapons. I'm guessing you started with weapons and that's why you find everything else a little harder to make. I can always help you with the jewelry and smaller things, if you'd like me to that is." he said as he watched Heath work effortlessly on a weapon. It was very impressive, he was just like his own father. They made it all look so easy. "Now that can't be true, You're a courageous person too. If you weren't, I don't think you would be here right now. It takes a lot of courage to go through what you all went through, so don't let anyone not even yourself tell you that you're not courageous enough to do something." Ping explained honestly. Lagordir could see why his future self got along with Heath, he was easy to talk to. He let out a soft laugh and shook his head. "I'm sure she doesn't mind. Someone had to do it and I know she wouldn't be able to do it, to hurt the person she loves even though he'd want to kill her." Lagordir replied softly and smiled. "We're getting better at coping, I think so anyway since we've stopped crying. I think we have finally accepted the fact that they're dead..our parents." he commented.
Daphne looked Thorn and became confused at what he said until she followed his gaze to look at Hope. "W-what is he talking about?" she asked. Hope didn't answer though and what she did next surprised her. "H-hey! Be careful he's hurt!" she reminded and frowned. When she noticed Hope place a dagger to Thorn's neck, she quickly covered her eyes and tried to calm her racing heart. What was Hope doing?! Feeling herself being pulled away from Tony's side, Daphne looked at Hope with wide eyes in fear and winced when she started to draw figures on her face with Thorn's blood. This was wrong, this was very wrong and she didn't know if it was the normal thing to do or not but she cried out in pain when Hope cut her. Quickly, Tony cleaned the blood from her wound and frowned. "I agree with Hope, go take a shower and then I'll bandage up that cut." he said quietly. Daphne listened to Hope and was surprised that she was doing this for her, even though it was a sick way of doing it. "Y-yes...I'll go shower now, excuse me." she said softly and quickly headed to the shower. |
