I wonder if they really do have nine lives...

Dystopia 07-19-2015 11:32 PM

I don't volunteer for testing.

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 12:22 AM

Well no, I wouldn't expect anyone to volunteer, but it's one of those things that makes you wonder how they came up with nine lives for cats. And do they wear one of those counters on them so you know which life they are on?

Dystopia 07-20-2015 12:25 AM

Probably 'cause cats are so dexterous they're good at avoiding danger?

Iunno. I guess if you're a cat, you'd just know.

They are pretty good at shaking things off, but they aren't the smartest when it comes to other things.

It would be kind of neat if they had a counter on them. They probably do know when they are running low on lives.

Dystopia 07-20-2015 01:09 AM

LOL. Cats can be pretty derpy.

I think it would be bad if everyone could see the counter tho.

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 01:32 AM

Probably would be bad for the kitty if people could see the counter.

I kind of want to get animal, but we live in such a small apartment that even having a kitty cat would be hard. If we got a bigger apartment I would love to get a dog.

Dystopia 07-20-2015 01:40 AM

I love animals, too. Maybe you can get a small fish for now? They're not as interactive, but I appreciate having mine.

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 02:06 AM

Even a small fish, no real room for a fish tank of any size. Our counter space is pretty limited, I have all the containers of my yarn and other craft what notness. Speaking of yarn, after this event I have to get back to crocheting blankets. Trying to get a stock pile up so I can start selling the damn things. Not going to make me a lot of money, but enough to continue making other blankets. I want to price them so they are affordable for people to give as gifts.

Dystopia 07-20-2015 02:10 AM

:o You crochet and sell blankets? May I see them?

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 02:19 AM

Sure! Let me grab a couple off my photobucket page. I happily show you the merchandise.

Dystopia 07-20-2015 02:24 AM

\o/ Do you have a place you sell them or anything?

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 02:27 AM

This one was a custom make for my old manager. Her son is in love with Minecraft:

I made this for my friend and his wife, they were expecting their first baby:

One that is currently for sale:

Another that is for sale: In this picture it's not complete.

I have a few more that I have completed, but haven't uploaded to Photobucket yet. And of course, the last blanket I made was for a coworker as her daughter is having her first grandchild and I totally forgot to take a picture after I was done. Dag nab it.

Been thinking of using Etsy since it's easy and convenient. But don't have enough stock just yet. Let me take pictures of the other blankets and I can upload them.

Dystopia 07-20-2015 02:28 AM

LOL. I like your Minecraft blanket!

Doh. I'm sorry you forgot to take a picture. >:C Is it hard selling them after you work so hard on them?

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 02:43 AM

Not really. I do find that specific color combinations are requested, so I might have to rethink having a ready stock on hand. The Minecraft blanket took forever. It's 100 individual crocheted squares, then you take them and put them together through a Technic called sewing. That's the hardest part, is sewing all those little bastards together. Yet, there aren't many people out there that make minecraft blankets and I am sure I could charge a nice price for the blankets and people would pay. I'd probably need to have a few of those in stock prior to posting them for sale because they do take time to make.

Dystopia 07-20-2015 02:47 AM

I've never seen a Minecraft blanket before! But I've never played the game, so I haven't really looked. How much did you charge for that one?

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 02:55 AM

I charged Sarah the cost of materials. At the time it was made, I was just learning how to do the granny square. Didn't feel right charging her for my time when it was all a learning process. If I made one now and sold it, probably in the neighborhood of $60-$70 depending on the time and materials it takes to make it.

Dystopia 07-20-2015 03:20 AM

Ah, I see. I think a blanket would be a good present for my lover- He gets cold very often, and I've been considering giving him a snuggy. Can you make snuggies too?

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 03:48 AM

Sadly, I am not that talented. Only very good with that blankets. I can make them bigger too

Dystopia 07-20-2015 04:09 AM

:c Bummer. Snuggies do look pretty hard to make. 'cause they're half blanket and half sweater? xD

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 04:25 AM

Something like that. Never tried to make a sweater before.

Dystopia 07-20-2015 04:25 AM

xD The only clothes I can make is a scarf. And I don't think those count.

CelesteStar 07-20-2015 04:26 AM

Those blankets look pretty rad. *o*

Queen_Andais 07-20-2015 04:28 AM

I'm sure scarfs count. I haven't made any of those. I really do like the granny squares, they are fun and easy to make.

Thanks, Celeste!

Dystopia 07-20-2015 04:30 AM

I knit them. I can only knit scarves. :I;;
