"Not surprised. They don't have many clients yet, after all." Bianca shrugged. "Hopefully they'll get more."
"I'm sure they will," Karen said, nodding. "They're excellent lawyers, they really are."
"I'll take your word on that and hope I don't have to see them in action too closely, you know?" Bianca smiled a little and stepped into the little convenience store on the corner.
"I understand," Karen said, nodding. She followed Bianca into the little corner store. "Coffee's over there."
Bianca nodded and grabbed a couple containers of coffee, since they went through it so fast.
"Good enough for now?" |
"Looks good," Karen said, nodding. She grinned a bit. "Should last the rest of the week, maybe next week."
Bianca grinned. "Maybe," she agreed. "Depends how late they stay every night." She paid for half the coffee, since she was drinking it too and she wasn't even doing anything useful in the office.
"No kidding," Karen said as she paid for the rest of the coffee and took the bag. "Sometimes I wouldn't think Matt sleeps, if I didn't see him walk in the next morning."
"Sometimes I wonder about that, too," Bianca said quietly. "Seems like he's always awake, whenever I am."
"That's... odd," Karen said after a moment. "I mean, I think so. Even insomniacs get some sleep." She shook her head a little. "That can't be healthy."
"No kidding. But it does explain why he downs coffee," Bianca said with a little shrug.
"That's true," Karen said, nodding. She sighed. "Still, it's probably not good for him to do that all the time. Though it does explain why he always looks like someone punched him in the face."
Bianca snorted at that, because that was oddly and hysterically accurate.
"Just don't tell him that, he thinks he's pretty," she said with a grin. |
"Oh I know," Karen replied, grinning back. "It's actually a pity he always looks so worn out, I'm sure he'd get a lot of dates if he would just get some sleep."
"Maybe you should tell him that," Bianca said with a teasing little grin. "Bet he'd listen to you."
"Who, me?" Karen asked, blinking. She shook her head. "Oh, no, I couldn't say that to him, no way." She paused, then grinned a bit. "Foggy, though, Foggy would say that to him."
"And you can hint at Foggy," Bianca said with a grin. "I see now why this office works, this is rather fantastic. I approve."
Karen grinned.
"Good to know you approve," she said. "Come on, we should hear back before Foggy worries himself into a frenzy." |
"Bagels first, but we can be quick about that," Bianca said. "Come on."
Karen nodded and walked with her.
"I have to admit, it's nice to get out of the office for a bit," she said. |
"It is." Bianca smiled a little. "I don't do well sitting still for too long, especially without something to do."
"I'm used to a desk job," Karen admitted. She gave a bit of a sheepish smile. "I suppose I just also got used to a bit of excitement, since I started with Matt and Foggy."
That made Bianca snort quietly. "A bit of excitement with those two, huh? Kind of like saying vodka is a bit strong?" She grinned.
"Well, I mean, it's not like they're quite on the scale of the Battle of Manhattan," Karen pointed out with a bit of a grin. "That's quite the bar to reach."
"I really hope not, there's only two of them," Bianca said. "And if either of them did anything stupid like that I might have to hit them."
